The real question about the "We'll stop it" text is who removed it from the record given to Congress??  They didn't redact it.  They removed it.  That's a MAJOR difference.  Who removed it, and why?  What else did they remove?  Who gave the orders?  The answers to these questions will point to how big this problem is.  But, its time to look under the rug.  

No, I've been open-minded about these things. In regards to how many people have become convinced today, I'd say the amount will be large. I haven't had a chance to discuss this with almost anyone, and I've been at work all day. My female co-worker is very interested in the current state of affairs, and keeps up with all the events regularly. She is a die-hard liberal, but of the patriotic persuasion. I quietly mentioned what was coming down the pipe from the breaking news emails I received today, and it seemed to upset her. She had an air of disbelief, but not in the way of "that's not true, that can't be true". She seemed to have drawn the conclusion that "WE" are all in big trouble, but there's no doubt that some of that disbelief was the disappointment in her own party.

The FBI officials who interviewed Hillary Clinton about her use of a private email server found some of her claims “hard to impossible to believe,” according to the Department of Justice’s inspector general’s.

Clinton repeatedly claimed ignorance when pressed by FBI agents in a July 2016 interview about receiving multiple emails with a “(C)” classification marker, according to the IG’s report on the FBI’s investigation of Clinton’s private server. She said she did not know that the marker denoted classified information and “speculated it was a reference to paragraphs ranked in alphabetical order.”

The unidentified agent who took the lead in questioning Clinton about her private server stated, “I filed that in the bucket of hard to impossible to believe.”

The other FBI agents present during the interview with Clinton were shocked at how “technically illiterate” she was, according to former FBI Director James Comey.

“I can’t sit here and tell you I believed her,” Comey said, according to the report. “I can only tell you, in no particular could we prove that she was being untruthful to us.”

Comey said the plan going into the interview was that if Clinton “lied to us in a way we thought we could prove, that would have changed everything.”

But despite the fact that the FBI and DOJ officials who attended the interview found Clinton’s claim to technological ignorance “strained credulity,” the interviewers said her statement could not be “affirmatively disproved.”

The same unidentified FBI agent that was doubtful of Clinton’s technological ignorance appeared to believe it was a waste of his time to interview the former secretary of state.

“We have nothing — shouldn’t [sic] even be interviewing,” the agent said in an instant message four days before the Clinton interview.

“My god…. I’m actually starting to have embarrassment sprinkled on my disappointment…. Ever been forced to do something you adamantly opposed,” the agent said in another message.

The agent later told the DOJ inspector general he did not know what he meant by “forced to do something you adamantly opposed.”

Four days after interviewing Clinton, the agent sent an instant message saying he was “done interviewing the President,” in reference to Clinton.

A bombshell inspector general report released Thursday revealed that several FBI employees improperly received gifts from reporters, in connection with possible leaks of sensitive information.

Although public details of these exchanges are scant, they could constitute prosecutable violations of federal gift-giving rules.

The gifts in question included “tickets to sporting events, golfing outings, drinks and meals, and admittance to nonpublic social events.”

“We will separately report on those investigations as they are concluded, consistent with the Inspector General Act, other applicable federal statutes, and OIG policy,” the report reads.


Gifting rules for executive branch officials are strict and exacting. The U.S. Office of Government Ethics provides that “executive branch employees may not solicit or accept gifts that are given because of their official positions or that come from certain interested sources (‘prohibited sources’).”

The rules define a prohibited source as a person who:

Is seeking official action by, is doing business or seeking to do business with, or is regulated by the employee’s agency; or
Has interests that may be substantially affected by performance or nonperformance of the employee’s official duties.
Those definitions derive from the U.S. Code that states violations will be sanctioned “in accordance with any applicable laws, executive orders, and rules or regulations.”

An FBI agent joked about how a witness who lied in the Hillary Clinton email investigation would never be charged, according to a Justice Department inspector general report released Thursday.

The witness had obviously lied to the FBI about handling sensitive information, the agent told one of his colleagues, but it didn’t matter, because regardless of what the Clinton associate said, the FBI wasn’t going to do “sh-t” about it. Here’s the exchange:

FBI Employee: “boom…how did the [witness] go”
Agent 1: “Awesome. Lied his -ss off. Went from never inside the scif [sensitive compartmented information facility] at res, to looked in when it was being constructed, to removed the trash twice, to troubleshot the secure fax with HRC a couple times, to everytime there was a secure fax i did it with HRC. Ridic,”
FBI Employee: “would be funny if he was the only guy charged n this deal”
Agent 1: “I know. For 1001. Even if he said the truth and didnt have a clearance when handling the secure fax – aint noone gonna do sh-t”

The agent has since told investigators he doesn’t recall this February 2016 conversation about the witness, who assisted the Clintons at their Chappaqua residence. Here’s how he explained the exchange to investigators:

Yeah, I, I don’t think I can say there’s a specific person that I worked with in this case that wouldn’t charge him for that. I think it’s a general complaint of, you know, of FBI agents that are kind of, kind of being emotional and, and complaining that no one is going to do something about, about something. … But there’s nothing specific that I, that I can tell you.

This is why you don’t want to rush a response to a 500-page inspector-general report. Former FBI Director James Comey, writing on the New York Times op-ed page, posted just a short time ago:

First, the inspector general’s team went through the F.B.I.’s work with a microscope and found no evidence that bias or improper motivation affected the investigation, which I know was done competently, honestly and independently.

That’s . . . not quite accurate. From the FBI inspector-general’s report, page 149:

. . . these text messages also caused us to assess Strzok’s decision in October 2016 to prioritize the Russia investigation over following up on the Midyear-related investigative lead discovered on the Weiner laptop. We concluded that we did not have confidence that this decision by Strzok was free from bias.

And then on page 161:

Nevertheless, we found that Page’s statement, on its face, consisted of a recommendation that the Midyear team consider how Clinton would treat the FBI if she were to become President in deciding how to handle Clinton’s interview. Suggesting that investigative decisions be based on this consideration was inappropriate and created an appearance of bias.

And then on page 420-421:

We were deeply troubled by text messages sent by Strzok and Page that potentially indicated or created the appearance that investigative decisions were impacted by bias or improper considerations.

. . . when one senior FBI official, Strzok, who was helping to lead the Russia investigation at the time, conveys in a text message to another senior FBI official, Page, that “we’ll stop” candidate Trump from being elected — after other extensive text messages between the two disparaging candidate Trump — it is not only indicative of a biased state of mind but, even more seriously, implies a willingness to take official action to impact the presidential candidate’s electoral prospects. This is antithetical to the core values of the FBI and the Department of Justice.

This is not a good report for the FBI or the team around Comey in the autumn of 2016.
