Mitt Romney for voting to convict Trump for abuse of power. “Today is the day to celebrate these great warriors, right?” Trump said. “These are great warriors. They really fought hard for us.” “We’ve all been through a lot together. We went through hell, unfairly,” said Trump, praising several Senators by name. “Mitch McConnell, I want to tell you, you did a fantastic job.” The president also took shots at “failed presidential candidate” Sen. Romney, Nancy Pelosi, and Rep. Adam Schiff, saying the Democrats “have been stone cold crazy, we beat them once and we’ll beat them again.” But it was apparent;ty all too much for some sensitive celebs. The staff at ToddStarnes.com broke the story about this school in the area east of Roanoke and Christiansburg, where the flags displayed behind trucks have become a target for school administrators. Earlier this week, an administrator at the Virginia school reportedly told several students that they could no longer fly Old Glory on their trucks because it was potentially “offensive” and “disruptive.” Franklin County High School students showed up in unity on Tuesday displaying American flags on their vehicles after an administrator allegedly told them to remove them. Several local residents posted photos of the caravan driving through town with Old Glory waving in the breeze.

www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/oscars-hit-all-time-low-tv-ratings-sunday-feb-9-2020-1278364TV Ratings: Oscars Fall to All-Time Lows ABC’s broadcast comes in about 3 million viewers behind the previous low in 2018. ABC’s Oscar telecast reached all-time lows in the ratings, falling sharply from last year. The three-hour-plus kudocast averaged about 23.6 million viewers and a 5.3 rating among adults 18-49, well below the 29.56 million and 7.7 for 2019’s awards ceremony — which aired two weeks later in the year. The Oscars were down 20 percent year-over-year in viewers and 31 percent in the key ad-sales demo of adults 18-49. Last year’s Oscars stopped a four-year ratings slide, growing the audience for the first time since 2014. Sunday’s awards show also falls well short of previous ratings lows for the Oscars, set in 2018. That year the telecast averaged 26.54 million viewers and a 6.8 rating in the demo; Sunday was down 11 percent in viewers and 22 percent in adults 18-49 from prior lows. The Oscars join the Emmy Awards in suffering steep ratings declines. The September 2019 Emmy broadcast on Fox fell by 32 percent in viewers and 29 percent in adults 18-49 from the previous year. They just don’t get it.

www.nationalreview.com/news/florida-man-who-drove-van-into-republican-voter-registration-was-motivated-by-anti-trump-animus/Florida Man Who Drove Van Into Republican Voter Registration was Motivated by Anti-Trump Animus A Florida man who last week drove his van into a voter registration tent staffed by local Republicans has admitted he was motivated by his hatred of President Trump. Gregory Timm, 27, drove into the tent on Saturday in the parking lot of a Jacksonville WalMart, narrowly missing volunteers working at the site. Timm told investigators from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office that he crashed into the tent because “someone had to take a stand,” the Jacksonville outlet News4Jax reported on Tuesday. He also tried to film the attack on his phone, but the video cut off before he hit the tent. Timm said he was disappointed the video ended before “the good part.” According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s investigation, Timm asserted that he waited until no one was in the tent before crashing into it; however, his own cell phone video showed people standing in front of the tent as he drove towards it. Stay Updated with NR Daily NR's afternoon roundup of the day's best commentary & must-read analysis. Jacksonville police have charged Timm with criminal mischief, driving without a license, and two counts of aggravated assault against a person over the age of 65. 12 While police waited several days to confirm the attack was politically motivated, Republicans on Saturday excoriated Timm over his actions. Florida Senator Marco Rubio and called the attack “politically motivated,” while governor Rick Scott said the Duval County GOP would “will redouble their efforts to support strong Republicans in NE Florida and around the state!” “We are outraged. This is not who we are. This is un-American,” Duval County Republican Party Chair Dean Black said at a press conference on Monday. “We are thankful that no one was injured; no one was killed.”

www.fox32chicago.com/news/jussie-smollett-indicted-by-special-prosecutor-in-chicago-source-saysJussie Smollett accused of lying to CPD, indicted on 6 counts of disorderly conduct CHICAGO - In a story FOX 32 News broke first, former “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett was indicted Tuesday in Chicago by special prosecutor Dan Webb, stemming from the alleged racist and anti-gay attack on him that occurred in January of 2019. Smollett is due in court February 24 at the Criminal Court Building at 26th and California. Webb said in a statement that Smollett faces six felony counts of disorderly conduct, charges that stem from four separate false reports that he gave to police in which he contended he was a victim of a hate crime “knowing that he was not the victim of a crime.” (App users click here to read the full indictment.) But Webb stressed that he had reached no conclusions about whether anyone involved in the case had engaged in any wrongdoing. Click to open this PDF in a new window. Webb released the following statement regarding the indictment. Click to open this PDF in a new window. "Dan K. Webb, special prosecutor for Cook County, today announced that the Office of the Special Prosecutor (“OSP”) has now completed all of its investigative steps regarding Jussie Smollett, and has made the decision to further prosecute Mr. Smollett. Based on the recommendation of the OSP, a Cook County grand jury returned a six-count indictment charging Jussie Smollett with making four separate false reports to Chicago Police Department officers related to his false claims that he was the victim of a hate crime, knowing that he was not the victim of a crime," Webb said in a statement. Tina Glandian, who is the attorney for Smollett, released the following statement Tuesday night regarding the new indictment: "This indictment raises serious questions about the integrity of the investigation that led to the renewed charges against Mr. Smollett, not the least of which is the use of the same CPD detectives who were part of the original investigation into the attack on Mr. Smollett to conduct the current investigation, despite Mr. Smollett's pending civil claims against the City of Chicago and CPD officers for malicious prosecution. One of the two witnesses who testified before the grand jury is the very same detective Mr. Smollett is currently suing for his role in the initial prosecution of him. After more than five months of investigation, the Office of the Special Prosecutor has not found any evidence of wrongdoing whatsoever related to the dismissal of the charges against Mr. Smollett. Rather, the charges were appropriately dismissed the first time because they were not supported by the evidence. The attempt to re-prosecute Mr. Smollett one year later on the eve of the Cook County State's Attorney election is clearly all about politics not justice." Smollett told Chicago police in January of 2019 that two men physically attacked him and yelled racial and homophobic slurs. But prosecutors had insisted Smollett faked the racist, anti-gay attack on himself in the hopes that the attention would advance his acting career. Special prosecutor Dan Webb But with little explanation, authorities in March of 2019 abruptly dropped all charges against Smollett, abandoning the criminal case only five weeks after the allegations were filed. In return, prosecutors said, the actor agreed to let the city keep his $10,000 in bail. Jussie Smollett speaks after learning charges against him were dropped The Empire actor addresses the media following an emergency hearing Tuesday where he learned all charges against him would be dropped. The dismissal drew a swift backlash from the mayor and police chief and raised questions about why Smollett was not forced to admit what prosecutors had said they could prove in court - that the entire episode was a publicity stunt. A judge in August appointed Webb, a former U.S. attorney, as a special prosecutor to look into why the original charges were dropped. Webb also was looking into whether calls that Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx had with a Smollett relative and an ex-aide of former first lady Michelle Obama unduly influenced the decision to drop charges. Foxx recused herself from the case, but continued to weigh in. Foxx's office released the following statement regarding the new indictment: "As the Cook County State's Attorney's Office does in all cases, the Special Prosecutor reviewed the facts, evidence, and the law, and determined charges were appropriate in this matter. We are unable to comment further as the matter is pending." Legal analyst Larry Yellen weighs in on Smollett indictment Legal analyst Larry Yellen weighed in on the new Jussie Smollett indictment on Tuesday. The city has sued Smollett, seeking reimbursement of more than $130,000 for overtime paid to officers who were involved in investigating Smollett's report. Smollett’s attorneys have said the city should not be allowed to recover costs from Smollett because it accepted $10,000 from the actor “as payment in full in connection with the dismissal of the charges against him.” After the charges were initially dismissed against Smollett, among those sure to keep pressing for answers was then-Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who appeared blindsided by the decision. His voice rising in anger at times, Emanuel called the deal "a whitewash of justice" and lashed out at Smollett. He said Smollett had exploited hate-crime laws meant to protect minorities by turning the laws "inside out, upside down for only one thing - himself." Video shows police arriving at Smollett's home, actor has noose around neck (Graphic Language) Chicago police have released a massive new batch of evidence in the controversial Jussie Smollett case. "Where is the accountability in the system?" Emanuel asked. "You cannot have, because of a person's position, one set of rules apply to them and another set of rules apply to everybody else." Related: Jussie Smollett files counterclaim against Chicago, alleging malicious prosecution 2nd video shows police arriving at Smollett’s home, actor has noose around neck (Graphic Language) Chicago police have released a massive new batch of evidence in the controversial Jussie Smollett case. Related: Jussie Smollett will not return for 'Empire' finale, Fox exec says “We look forward to reviewing the indictment and, as we have said previously, the City stands by our original complaint seeking to recover costs for Mr. Smollett’s false statements. We again thank the Chicago Police Department detectives for their hard work on this case the original investigation," the City of Chicago Department of Law said in a statement. Smollett has become a household name as a result of the case. Jussie Smollett leaves jail while being swarmed by media "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett gave detailed instructions to two brothers who helped him stage a racist, anti-gay attack on himself, including giving them specific slurs to yell, telling them to shout "MAGA country" and pointing out a surveillance camera that he thought would record the beating, a prosecutor said Thursday. Last year, defense attorneys said Smollett's record was "wiped clean" of the 16 felony counts related to making a false report. The actor, who also agreed to do community service, insisted that he had "been truthful and consistent on every single level since day one." "I would not be my mother's son if I was capable of one drop of what I was being accused of," he told reporters after a court hearing. He thanked the state of Illinois "for attempting to do what's right." Jussie Smollett | Chicago Police In a statement, a spokeswoman for the Cook County prosecutors' office had said the dismissal came "after reviewing all of the facts and circumstances of the case." Tandra Simonton called it "a just disposition and appropriate resolution," but said it was not an exoneration. First Assistant State's Attorney Joseph Magats had said prosecutors "stand behind the investigation and the facts." When dropping cases, prosecutors will sometimes insist that the defendant accept at least a measure of responsibility. Outside court, neither Smollett nor his legal team had appeared to concede anything about his original report in January. Defense attorney Patricia Brown Holmes said Smollett was "attacked by two people he was unable to identify" and "was a victim who was vilified and made to appear as a perpetrator." Authorities alleged that Smollett, who is black and gay, knew the men and arranged for them to pretend to attack him. Then-Mayor Emanuel said the hoax could endanger other gay people who report hate crimes by casting doubt on whether they are telling the truth. Then-Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said Chicago "is still owed an apology." Exclusive: Police Supt. Johnson discusses how Smollett case has impacted city, future of actor The Jussie Smollett case has brought the world's attention to Chicago, prompting an angry Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson to tell reporters about how Smollett had staged a fake hate crime that was not only damaging to his family and friends but also the city and future victims. "I've heard that they wanted their day in court with TV cameras so that America could know the truth. They chose to hide behind secrecy and broker a deal to circumvent the judicial system," he said. Related: Smollett's lawyers seek records on Chicago's ousted top cop Chicago's top prosecutor, Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx, recused herself from the initial investigation before Smollett was charged, citing conversations she had with a Smollett family member. Judge assigns special prosecutor to investigate handling of Smollett case A judge decided to appoint a special prosecutor Friday to investigate the decision by Cook County prosecutors to dismiss all charges against actor Jussie Smollett, who was accused of lying to the police by claiming he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack in downtown Chicago in January. Many legal experts were surprised by the dismissal, especially the fact that it did not include any condition that Smollett apologize and admit he staged the assault. "This situation is totally bizarre. It's highly, highly unusual," said Phil Turner, a Chicago defense attorney and former federal prosecutor with no ties to the case. Smollett reported that he was attacked around 2 a.m. on Jan. 29 on his way home from a sandwich shop. Investigators said he made the false report because he was unhappy with his pay on "Empire" and believed it would promote his career. The actor plays the gay character Jamal Lyon on the hit Fox TV show, which follows a black family as they navigate the ups and downs of the recording industry. Smollett said two masked men shouted racial and anti-gay slurs, poured bleach on him, beat him and looped a rope around his neck. He claimed they shouted, "This is MAGA country" - a reference to President Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" campaign slogan. He asserted that he could see one of the men was white because he could see the skin around his eyes. GET FOX 32 NEWS ON THE GO BY CLICKING HERE Police said Smollett paid $3,500 to the two men, both of whom are black. The men were brothers Abimbola "Abel" and Olabinjo "Ola" Osundairo, and one of them had worked on "Empire." An attorney for them, Gloria Schmidt, has said the brothers agreed to help Smollett because of their friendship with him and the sense that he was helping their careers. Schmidt said in a statement: "The Osundairo brothers are aware of the new charges brought against Jussie Smollett today by the grand jury. As stated before, they are fully committed to the public knowing the truth about what occurred on January 29, 2019. The Osundairo brothers will continue to cooperate with that process and they thank the Special Prosecutor’s office for their tireless work in seeing that justice was administered." Smollett's attorney told "Good Morning America" that the two brothers are lying. Tina Glandian said Smollett had hired one brother as a personal trainer, and that they discussed training and nutrition in the hours before the attack as Smollett's flight to Chicago was delayed. But she said Smollett had no idea who attacked him until the brothers were later identified by police. She said Smollett is a crime victim and "just wants his life back." Photo: GETTY Before the 2019 attack, police said, Smollett also sent a letter threatening himself to the Chicago studio where "Empire" is shot. The FBI, which is investigating that letter, has declined to comment. Regarding the new indictment, it was not immediately clear what sentence Smollett faces if convicted. When he was originally charged with disorderly conduct, it was reported that he could be placed on probation or sent to prison for one to three years per count. Smollett’s case has become an issue in Foxx's bid for a second term. Those looking to unseat the first black woman to hold the county's highest law enforcement position, have blasted her handling of the matter as haphazard and indecisive. They say it indicates she has bad judgment and favors the rich and powerful in deciding who will be prosecuted. Foxx's campaign committee issued a biting statement Tuesday referring to former FBI Director James Comey's decision to briefly reopen an investigation into Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton's email shortly before the presidential election in 2016 that Donald Trump would win. "What’s questionable here is the James Comey-like timing of that charging decision"…which can only be interpreted as the further politicization of the justice system, something voters in the era of Donald Trump should consider offensive," the statement from Friends for Foxx said. Smollett's attorney also raised political implications. The attempt to re-prosecute Smollett "on the eve of the Cook County State's Attorney election is clearly all about politics not justice," she said. In his news release, Webb said he concluded that prosecuting Smollett was “in the interest of justice” for a number of reasons, including the extensive details of Smollett's false account as well as the resources that the police department threw at the investigation. When the first indictment against Smollett was returned, Webb wrote, the state’s attorney’s office had concluded that the evidence in the case was "strong.” But the office failed to offer any new evidence to explain why authorities dropped the charges just a few weeks later, Webb said. Further, Webb took issue with an assertion in a news release issued when the charges were dropped that Smollett had not received special treatment and that the case was resolved "under the same criteria that would be available for any defendant with similar circumstances." Webb asked for but never received any examples of other such cases, he wrote. The new charges were sure to reignite many of the tensions that surrounded Smollett a year ago. When his claims first emerged, he drew a groundswell of support from fans and celebrities and gave an emotional television interview about the attack. The case came to reflect the polarized state of political discourse in America. Many Democrats initially called it a shocking instance of Trump-era racism and hate, while Republicans depicted it as yet another example of liberals rushing to judgment and disparaging the president's supporters as bigots. Smollett, 37, has not had any notable film or television roles announced since his departure from the TV series was made public in April 2019. Producers have the option to bring him back during the sixth and final season but have said they have no plans to do so. “Empire” has 10 episodes left. It is scheduled to return March 3. .......

MSNBC’s Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough went off on an unhinged rant Wednesday morning, calling President Trump a “would-be dictator” who would arrest reporters and even Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos if he could.
Scarborough, with wife and co-host Mika Brzenski nodding in agreement by his side, blamed Republicans for not reining in Trump as he bemoaned the events of Tuesday–apparently referring to the Justice Department intervening in the Roger Stone sentencing proposal that prompted four swamp-dwelling Mueller prosecutors to quit the case after Trump attacked the sentence as excessive. Trump and the DOJ have both said there was no communication between them about the Stone sentence with the DOJ stating it was already moving to intervene in the sentence proposal before Trump spoke out on it.
Scarborough: …It’s not like we just started saying this, that Donald Trump has to be shown there are boundaries. We said this to Paul Ryan in the summer of 2016 when he endorsed Donald Trump and got nothing in return for it. Republicans from that point forward have never held him accountable and that’s why we, our constitutional republic, literally, and the institutions in it, literally, are being challenged every single day by this would-be dictator. Uh, let me say, that sounds tough, doesn’t it? You tell me.
Brzezinski: That’s the word I was gonna use.
Scarborough: You tell me, would Donald Trump not do whatever he could do if he could get away with it? Seriously. If he could arrest every journalist he didn’t like, if he could arrest us tomorrow? Let me ask you a question: do you think he would arrest us tomorrow? Do you think he would arrest the editor, uh, of the New York Times? The editor of the Washington Post? Jeff Bezos? Do you think he’d arrest them tomorrow and throw ’em in jail to silence ’em?
Brzezinski: It sounds like it.
Scarborough: Do you think, cu, cuz if you say he wouldn’t you’re just lying to yourself. He will get away with whatever he can get away with. And he did this yesterday, something extraordinary that hasn’t been done in our lifetime. He did it because you Republican senators gave him a blank check.
UPDATE: Longer video posted to YouTube by MSNBC in which Scarborough maligns Attorney General William Barr, repeatedly calling him “Roy Cohn”:

The British bassist and songwriter, who hasn't been with the band since the 1980s, spoke at a Q&A to promote his concert film, “Us + Them.” According to Rolling Stone magazine, the moderator noted that the film showed Waters’ music getting its message of “humanism” to connect with young people all over the world. “Funnily enough, they are [connecting to that message], but unfortunately not f---ing here,” Waters shot back before singing the praises of Sanders. “Because if they were, you wouldn’t have Donald Trump as a president, you wouldn’t be having all this nonsense with the Democratic primaries, with them trying to destroy the only candidate who can possibly win against Donald Trump, Sanders.” CELEBRITIES REACT TO TRUMP'S SENATE IMPEACHMENT TRIAL: 'THIS IS A DISGRACE' Waters went on to comment on what he sees as the very bleak state of the United States at the moment. It’s a question that Democrats can’t answer or are unwilling to defend. And it was asked in the bastion of liberal America. Why do Democrats care more about illegal aliens than homeless Americans in the streets? It’s a question that Scot Presler, the man whose been volunteering to clean up the garbage that’s accumulated in Democrat-run cities, asked of San Francisco residents. Yes, the crowd around him wasn’t big, but the question is still salient. Why is this the case? The Democratic Party is keen on expanding sanctuary policies, giving illegals health care and driver’s licenses—but what about the homeless? On the West Coast or Left Coast, homeless people are becoming a hallmark characteristic. Presler noted that California is one of the biggest state economies in the country, but Sacramento would rather cater to illegals instead. California is a sanctuary state. Presler noted that both his father and grandfather had served their country in the military and that he’s doing his part cleaning up communities around the country because he “gives a damn.”

www.breitbart.com/clips/2020/02/14/cnns-cooper-weaponizing-military-next-step-for-trump-to-turn-u-s-into-banana-republic/CNN’s Cooper: Weaponizing Military ‘Next Step’ for Trump to Turn U.S. into Banana Republic CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Friday accused President Donald Trump of trying to turn the United States into a banana republic, given that he is “weaponizing the military.” While discussing the Department of Justice is dropping its investigation into former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, Copper said, “It fits into the larger theme of weaponizing the Department of Justice against perceived enemies or just people the president doesn’t like.” He continued, “There was a transcript released today in which the judge in this case previously told Justice Department attorneys that the handling of the case was disturbing in the judge’s words and getting close to a banana republic. Do you agree?” McCabe said, “I absolutely agree. That’s one of the things that concerns me most about not just the president, but the way that the Justice Department has handled these matters that are clearly so important to this president. dailycaller.com/2020/02/14/chad-wolf-new-way-forward-tucker-carlson/cting Department of Homeland Secretary Chad Wolf discussed the potentially devastating consequences of the New Way Forward Act during a Friday night segment of “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” Before introducing Wolf, Fox News host Tucker Carlson said the bill, if passed, would “completely remake America’s immigration system and the country itself for the sake of protecting foreign-born criminals.” “Violent felons could not be deported back to their home countries unless they received at least a five-year sentence,” Carlson continued. “Even then, a judge could easily override that. The government meanwhile, meaning you, would have to pay to fly deported criminals back into the United States to resume living here.” “If it became law, what would happen to the country?” he asked Wolf. WATCH: “Well, it’s very dangerous,” Wolf responded. “I would say it completely guts our immigration enforcement system that we have in place. It also is just from a pure legality perspective it just guts the rule of law. So, envision a world where individuals no longer have to wait in line for Visas. They can come across the border to no longer criminality to do that. They can then come into the system. We can’t deport them. Because we can’t hold people, it essentially abolishes ICE. Then, on top of all of that, going back 25 years we then have to find folks, bring them back into the country, re-litigate their immigration proceedings. So if you are looking for a way to abolish our immigration system, abolish ICE, and just rewrite our immigration code completely, this would be the legislation for you.” “In effect, it would abolish the country,” Carlson responded before asking Wolf why anyone would want to “affirmatively seek out foreign criminals and import them into the country?” Wolf contended that Democrats believe that “somehow the deck is stacked” against would-be migrants, when in reality they “have full due process.” “We want to pay to bring the worst possible people into the country,” Carlson said, calling it “a kind of punishment meted out against America.” (RELATED: Tucker Reveals Democratic Plan To Protect Illegal Alien Criminals From Deportation, And ‘Fundamentally’ Change America) Wolf acknowledged the bill’s dim chances with President Donald Trump in office, but said if its supporters are ever able to gain passage it would be “very dangerous for our country.” “Again, you would have hardened criminals being able to come into the country illegally,” said Wolf. “We would have no ability to enforce that law and deport them, and so basically your sanctuary city policies that we have in effect around the country in several jurisdictions become nationwide. That may be the end result at the end of the day.” “Boy, this is the kind of thing you do to a country you hate and clearly, clearly they do,” said Carlson.

dailycaller.com/2020/02/14/students-who-tried-to-kick-out-white-people-thought-they-were-gonna-be-hailed-as-heroes-says-yaf/AF spokesman Spencer Brown sat down with the Daily Caller to explain a viral video showing a black female student loudly declaring there were “too many white people” in the building where she was studying. Brown spoke with the Daily Caller’s Anders Hagstrom to discuss the University of Virginia’s reaction to the incident. Unlike many campus controversy incidents, the filming was not contentious, as the video originated on Twitter after the student’s friend–who was filming the speech–posted it. The internet did not react kindly to the video, however. (RELATED: US Universities Are Using Social Credit Systems To Track Students) “Public service announcement,” the woman says in the video. “If y’all didn’t know, this is the [Multicultural Student Center], and, frankly, there’s just too many white people in here, and this is a space for people of color, so, just be really cognizant of the space that you’re taking up because it does make some of us POCs uncomfortable when we see too many white people in here.” According to Brown, intolerance from the left has grown in frequency and intensity on college campuses in recent years, and he sees no end in sight. www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2020/02/14/alec-baldwin-watch-sniveling-republicans-to-see-how-hitler-took-control-of-a-country/Actor Alec Baldwin is doubling down on his Nazi rhetoric by once again equating President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler. In a recent tweet on Thursday, the 30 Rock actor blamed Republican senators for lacking the courage to stop “Hitler” — i.e., Trump — from seizing power. “You wonder how Hitler took control of a once great country,” Baldwin wrote. “For those of you too young to recall the War or its aftermath, simply watch how this GOP-controlled Senate behaves. Their sniveling fealty and lack of courage. And you begin to get it.” The comments come just two days after Baldwin tweeted that the United States under President Trump has become ” as lawless as the malignant dictatorships we’ve hated in our foreign policy since WWII.” Baldwin, who has played President Trump numerous times on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, has used his Twitter account with more than 1 million followers to repeatedly bash the commander in chief and his supporters. Earlier this month, the actor tweeted that the “desecration of [American democracy] and the near moral collapse of this country falls squarely in the lap of Trump’s supporters.” Baldwin pleaded guilty last year to harassment and agreed to take an anger management course after he was arrested for assaulting a man over a parking spot.

www.breitbart.com/tech/2020/02/14/canadian-professor-paw-patrol-is-capitalist-propaganda/A professor at The King’s University College in Canada is making the case that the popular children’s show PAW Patrol is harmful because it promotes distrust of government and acceptance of capitalism. According to a report by the CBC, King’s University College Professor Liam Kennedy recently published a research article that made the case that PAW Patrol teaches small children to reject government regulation in favor of capitalism. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/london/paw-patrol-encourages-kids-to-embrace-capitalism-1.5455625For the uninitiated, PAW Patrol is a popular children’s television series that airs on Nickelodeon in the United States about a series of dogs that band together to provide private emergency services in their town which is run by a corrupt mayor. In the paper, Kennedy argues that PAW Patrol “encourages complicity in a global capitalist system that produces inequalities and causes environmental harms.” Kennedy, the father of a two-year-old boy, does not allow his son to watch the show. “I’ll start with the depiction of the state. Mayor Humdinger and Mayor Goodway — kind of the representatives of the state or the government — are portrayed negatively,” Kennedy said during a conversation with the CBC. “Mayor Humdinger is portrayed as unethical or corrupt. Mayor Goodway as hysterical, bumbling, incompetent,” Kennedy added. When Kennedy was pressed on the absurdity of his claims, he relented. “I don’t think it’s the worst thing ever to exist,” Kennedy said. Kennedy faced mockery and criticism on Twitter after his interview with the CBC was shared across the internet. “My son watches paw patrol and now he runes around the house screaming ‘fuck the working class,” one user joked. thefederalist.com/2020/02/14/box-office-data-prove-it-wasnt-men-who-tanked-birds-of-prey/Box Office Data Prove It Wasn’t Men Who Tanked ‘Birds Of Prey’ While the film's defenders say sexism is to blame for the movie's shortcomings, the metrics simply don't support this claim.Brad SlagerBy Brad Slager FEBRUARY 14, 2020 Hollywood has yet to learn its lesson that audiences want to be entertained, not lectured. The release of a new movie Friday, “Birds of Prey,” thrust this lesson into the spotlight when the film didn’t do as well as expected — and, of course, men were to blame. In this latest Warner Bros. release of a DC Comics property, Margot Robbie reprised her popular role of Harley Quinn, the emotionally damaged villainess she originally played in the mess-of-a-film “Suicide Squad.” Despite the blatant fiasco of that film, Robbie was clearly the bright spot, and her character deservedly received her own film. But Robbie deserved better than “Birds of Prey.” Tracking the film ahead of release, industry experts expected it to do a healthy business, predicting it would earn at least $50 million on the opening weekend. Instead it took in far less, opening with only $33 million. As the studio grappled with what transpired and how this assured hit went sideways, some in media activist circles had little trouble coming up with a cause. It was men’s fault. Feminists didn’t hold back in accusing misogyny. If only men were not such an infantile sex, they could open themselves up to the possibilities of women being strong characters on screen, goes the narrative. Comic book and movie legend Gerry Conway also weighed in on the film’s demise, saying, “I’m so disappointed by ‘Birds of Prey’ box office and what it says about the male audience for superhero films. Here’s my controversial take (don’t hate me): the movie didn’t pull teenage boys because Margot Robbie didn’t want Harley Quinn to be sexualized as she was in SS.” Just to add to the testosterone dysphoria, the superhero culture site Comic Book Resources attributed some of the failure to the fact that male movie reviewers were unfairly harsh in their criticism of the film. Besides the common refrain that men are to blame for the film flop, “Birds of Prey” criticisms possessed another commonality: no evidence to support them. Don’t Let the Facts Blow up Your Misogyny Narrative “Birds Of Prey” follows a trend I noted to be in full swing throughout 2019,:the failure of films championed as feminist “message” pictures. A predictable pattern emerged across numerous genres: whenever a movie was touted as a female message picture, it was sure to be DOA in theaters. And those film casualties were sure to be blamed on men. In this weekend’s “BOP,” as the hip feminists refer to “Birds of Prey,” a similar agenda was at play. Warner Bros. elected to give the film to director Cathy Yan, who had only one prior motion picture on her resume, and writer Christina Hodson (“Bumblebee”). The female-power lecturing was apparent, as Ewan McGregor, who plays Black Mask in “Birds of Prey,” described: What interested me with Birds of Prey is that it’s a feminist film. It is very finely written, there is in the script a real look on misogyny. And I think we need that, we need to be more aware of how we behave with the opposite sex. We need to be taught to change. We covered much of this on the last episode of “Disasters In The Making.” Paul Young, from Screen Rant, saw a preview of the film and noted that feminists were carrying out their message primarily through misandry. They tear men down and portray them as avaricious beings in order to venerate the female characters. As Young described it, an early scene of the film shows McGregor’s character to be sadistic. The creators fully established his villain credentials then, but later, they portrayed him as even more vile when he publicly degrades an innocent woman. So the messaging is in place, but did that actually drive men away from seeing the film? The answer is a flat no. While the charge by the film’s defenders of sexism being the ruination of its success seems a natural explanation, the metrics do not support their claim. ‘Birds of Prey’ Failed for Non-Sexist Reasons The first problem they run into: Men did in fact turn out to see the film. Audience measurements showed that more than half of the film’s attendees were males, at 54 percent. Claims that male entertainment writers were unfairly dumping on the film also fail to land, as Rotten Tomatoes sports a very strong 80 percent, with a matching audience score. Any harsh criticisms were surely drowned out by praise. So absent sexist excuses, what went wrong? The first issue is the basic fact that the movie content was muddled. This film centered on Harley Quinn but was named after her support staff, who were not so prominently featured. Some were confused by Quinn’s presence, while others felt she was in a reduced role. This is evidenced by the fact that Warner Bros. later retitled the film “Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey.” The release date may have also been problematic. This weekend was the Academy Awards, a notoriously slower weekend in theaters, but one that especially hit home — film marketers recognize females do not go to theaters the Sunday of the Oscars. The biggest stumbling block, however, may have been the content. While Conway surmised that teenaged boys were not motivated to go to the film, he failed to measure that most could not go. “BOP” is rated R, so the under-18 crowd was largely prevented from attending. Exit metrics showed that the 17-and-under audience was a paltry 9 percent. Focusing on the teen boys is also a misfire; Harley Quinn is very popular with girls because of the TV animated series that features her. That built-in audience was all but cut out of attending the film. It turns out this film’s failure cannot be attributed to toxic sexism, but rather mostly to studio decisions and the development of the property in general. When feminists make irrational, emotion-based measurements of an industry, however, they’re unlikely to listen to any amount of statistical analysis — just like the studios continuing to push the feminist product that consistently fails to deliver.

Do you agree?” McCabe said, “I absolutely agree. That’s one of the things that concerns me most about not just the president, but the way that the Justice Department has handled these matters that are clearly so important to this president. Just another prick in the wall: www.foxnews.com/entertainment/pink-floyd-roger-waters-donald-trump-tyrand-mass-murdererPink Floyd rocker Roger Waters bashes Donald Trump as 'tyrant,' 'mass murderer' Controversial former Pink Floyd rocker Roger Waters bashed President Donald Trump at an event Tuesday in New York City, showing support for 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders. And sadly, the buttons of the propaganda machine are being pushed by people who are f---ing sick. These sick, sociopathic f---ers, all of them, every single one of them. www.dailywire.com/news/obama-brags-he-made-u-s-economy-strong-james-woods-fires-back-then-ted-cruz-finishes-the-jobObama Brags He Made U.S. Economy Strong. James Woods Fires Back. Then Ted Cruz Finishes The Job. On Monday, former President Barack Obama decided to promulgate the idea that he was responsible for the current strong state of the economy, tweeting, “Eleven years ago today, near the bottom of the worst recession in generations, I signed the Recovery Act, paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history.” Two famous conservatives blasted Obama as a result of his braggadocio. The enormously talented and outspoken conservative actor James Woods, who took a nine-month leave of absence from Twitter but then returned at the beginning of February, ripped Obama, tweeting, “The notion that you did anything but destroy this nation’s economy is beyond hilarious. “Those jobs are never coming back. What’s he going to do, wave a magic wand?” Yes, @realdonaldtrump did exactly that. Your only sad legacy was your blatant lies about ObamaCare.” Woods was then echoed by another famous conservative, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), who issued one of the most succinct tweets he has ever written, saying bluntly, “Damn straight.” Woods was suspended from Twitter in April 2019 after tweeting, “If you try to kill the King, you better not miss. #HangThemAll.” He told The Daily Wire, “Twitter demanded that I rescind my tweet paraphrasing Emerson. It now seems they have chosen to delete that tweet from my account without my permission. Until free speech is allowed on Twitter, I will not be permitted to participate in our democracy with my voice. As long as Jack Dorsey remaining, ns the coward he seems to be, my Twitter days are in the past.” President Trump weighed in, tweeting, “How can it be possible that James Woods (and many others), a strong but responsible Conservative Voice, is banned from Twitter? Social Media & Fake News Media, together with their partner, the Democrat Party, have no idea the problems they are causing for themselves. VERY UNFAIR!” How can it be possible that James Woods (and many others), a strong but responsible Conservative Voice, is banned from Twitter? Social Media & Fake News Media, together with their partner, the Democrat Party, have no idea the problems they are causing for themselves. VERY UNFAIR! — Donald J. Trump (@realdonaldtrump) May 4, 2019 As The Daily Wire noted, National Review highlighted some of Trump’s economic accomplishments: The census report ten days ago revealed workers’ earnings increasing at 3.4 percent annually, a rate not seen since the best of the Reagan years, and the poverty rate has declined to 11.8 percent, the best figure that has been recorded since the end of the Clinton administration and still resolutely proceeding in the right direction. Unemployment is at its lowest percentage since the Lyndon Johnson administration more than 50 years ago (and the numbers then were helped by having 545,000 conscripts in Vietnam). Minority groups are the principal beneficiaries of the Trump economy; this isn’t trickle-down, it’s surge-up. Average income for female-led single-parent households jumped 7.6 percent last year, well ahead of gains in higher income groups. The poverty rate among female-led households fell 2.7 percent for African Americans, and 4 percent for Hispanics. Industries largely populated by women (and, historically, exploited women), especially hospitality and, to a lesser extent, health care, showed strong earnings gains, even as unemployment rates for African-American and Hispanic women fell to under 4.5 percent. Another partisan Democratic falsehood that is exposed by the census is the myth that the middle class is shrinking. The percentage of total families at the lowest economic levels has fallen by over 1 whole percent and the brackets from $50,000 to $150,000 and above $200,000 have both increased by almost 1 whole percent (several million people in each case). There were sharp increases in the incomes of younger families (up to age 34).

thefederalist.com/2020/02/17/the-cruel-reality-of-life-as-one-of-the-medias-never-trump-waterboys/The Cruel Reality Of Life As One Of The Media’s Never-Trump Waterboys All of their predictions are based on the conventional wisdom and assumptions of an insulted and excluded D.C. intelligentsia, and all are wrong. Christopher BedfordBy Christopher Bedford FEBRUARY 17, 2020 Media bias is an old constant. It has never and will never go away. A reporter or host can use all the proper, sanitized words he wants, but behind the scenes lie the decisions that went into which stories to pursue and which to drop; where to pull back and where to push forward; who to interview, who to skip; what is most important versus what can be buried or even cut. And then, of course, there’s the cool kids’ club. True, it more strongly resembles grown and embittered theater kids who never quite made it, but it’s Washington, so things are not very real. This club is a place anti-Trump conspiracies are treated with the upmost seriousness and obviously implausible pronouncements are called conventional wisdom; where Jim Acosta gets high-fives for reporting conspiracy theories and heckling Easter egg rolls; where people can be incorrect again and again to the point of irrelevance yet still maintain columns, airtime, and glowing profiles about their bravery in the face of wrong. Every bit of this — the grinding and gurgling economy of the legacy media and its temporary darlings — relies on this support structure of peer approval. Doubtful? You can most clearly see it play out live on Twitter, like a Discovery Channel exploration of an ecosystem made up entirely of mosquitoes. And the cool kids’ waterboys are the anti-Trump Republicans. The Never Trumpers are a joke kept alive by this structure of self-support. They haven’t been correct on a thing in years, yet continue to earn their supper and an invitation to the party by wholeheartedly agreeing with their new patrons. They predicted ruin when the president was nominated and doom when he was elected, all while his poll numbers have continued to tick upward. They prophesied the shattering of the Republican Party all while it has maintained near-historic discipline in the face of a unified Democrat-media assault. They assumed the end of the economy because America reacted to unfair international trade practices, and terrible global disasters because Donald Trump withdrew from the Paris Climate Accords and killed Iran’s terrorist general. All of their predictions are based on the conventional wisdom and assumptions of an insulted and excluded D.C. intelligentsia, and all are wrong. Indeed, Trump’s above decisions have resulted in the very things the Never-Trump Republicans once called for, including closing America’s sizable income gap and maintaining a strength and deterrence that are independent of entangling foreign powers. Ineffective and alienated politicians like Sen. Mitt Romney are treated as brave heroes and media stars for buying into Democratic hysteria and hurting their Republican colleagues. Repentant conservatives like Max Boot and Jennifer Rubin are given Washington Post prominence in exchange for reversing all of their previous positions and toeing the line. Steve Schmidt is given ample TV time above a chyron calling him a “Republican political consultant,” despite no longer consulting for Republicans, in exchange for mocking Republican voters and insulting their leaders. And Jonah Goldberg, who was run out of National Review by its readers, and Steve Hayes, who ran The Weekly Standard on its road to ruin, are dubbed the bold new leaders of serious conservatives. “The Conservatives Trying to Ditch Fake News,” reads an Atlantic article on their new venture, The Dispatch, colored with magical little quips about how all conservatives are terrible. “Original reporting will be emphasized and petty internet squabbles downplayed” it reads, four paragraphs before one of The Dispatch’s founders calls Boot and Rubin dunces. Still further down, well past where any busy person might read, the profile’s author holds up The Dispatch’s “fact-based stories” in contrast with The Daily Caller, a news outlet with millions of monthly viewers that is not anti-Trump enough for The Atlantic’s tastes. And here we have a chance to take a look behind the narrative. I was at The Caller for years, so can recall that since Trump’s election its fact-based reporters have exposed censorship by the tech giants, helped put violent left-wing and Nazi extremists in jail, unmasked the prominent family that made its riches off of American misery, tied the founder and CEO of Victoria’s Secret’s parent company to Jeffrey Epstein, connected BuzzFeed’s data collection to assisting Democratic candidates, revealed a congresswoman’s campaign-money payments to a staffer she was having an affair with, broken Chris Matthew’s sexual harassment settlement, and uncovered the Chinese ties to Hunter Biden’s Ukraine troubles. That news reporting is off the top of my head, and that’s the level of disinformation at the heart of the charade. The Federalist punches holes in this charade daily, reporting on the actual people who funded the Russian collusion story, on President Barack Obama’s ties to this effort, on FBI stonewalling over CNN’s highly suspicious “exclusive” for the arrest of Roger Stone, on the hypnotic memory-retrieval works of Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser. Stories like these go on and on, but they don’t merit a place in a narrative universe made up of the club, its waterboys, and then just a bunch of opinion hosts, blogs, and fake news. “Outside of the Beltway, Republicans and conservatives steadfastly opposed to Trump are a small minority – more than 90 percent of Republicans approve of the president,” Mark Hemingway writes at Real Clear Politics. “Yet, judging by the column inches and TV appearances being doled out, NeverTrump Republicans might be the most overrepresented demographic in America.” There’s a sad reality to this media club we can all recognize from childhood: While their waterboys and hangers-on work day and night for acceptance, the club chortles and laughs. They’re the butt of the jokes, allowed to help out here or there but never really included. In the all-access profile on The Dispatch, an interview with the isolated Rep. Justin Amash and “a nuanced dispatch from the recent March for Life” are held up alongside “a pair of scoops” The Atlantic didn’t even bother to describe or link to. “Have audiences on the right simply been conditioned to expect validation–and nothing else– from the news?” the writer, a frequent guest on CNN, asks his sniggering readership. Earlier, he cracks how there is only one woman at The Dispatch’s podcast. The insignificant number of subscribers is touted. The accompanying photographs, meant to show the reader what it’s like in this new outlet, are out-of-focus and largely show a dark, empty office. Romney, once a target of vicious attack when he was against the club, gets a similar treatment for his “bravery” today. Television and print interviews abound, but the focus is never a positive agenda or the citizens of Utah. No, the subject they’d like him to wax on is how bad Republicans are. Were he to ever again dare question the pronouncements of his new friends in public, the backlash would be swift. These men and women are included for agreeing with a media that has been proven wrong over and over again, but there is no room for self-awareness. The two-or-so weeks of journalistic self-reflection that followed the 2016 election gave way to race-baiting, conspiracies, and inquisitions. A promised focus on the heartland and The New York Times’s apology to its readership gave way to The 1619 Project. In what industry would this hubris survive except for media? Even in politics, a business filled with corrupt liars not even trying to deliver, its practitioners are held to task by elections. Not here. Unaccountable and self-satisfied, the club marches on, complete with back-handed back-slaps to the boys who carry its water.

www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/02/18/durbin-slams-blagojevich-commutation-after-previously-expressing-support/Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) is criticizing President Donald Trump for commuting the prison sentence of former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich, despite having previously supported such a move himself. Durbin, who serves as his party’s minority whip in the Senate, released a statement opposing Blagojevich’s commutation shortly after the White House announced Trump’s decision on the matter. “Former governor Blagojevich betrayed the people of Illinois and engaged in a pattern of corrupt behavior for which he was held accountable and which cost him more than seven years of freedom,” Durbin said, before calling on lawmakers in Illinois and Washington, D.C. to “establish stricter ethics requirements, including the full detailed disclosure of income, net worth, and income tax returns.” Blagojevich, a Democrat, served as governor of Illinois between 2003 and 2009, when he was impeached and removed from office for public corruption. The story generated widespread media attention, especially after it emerged the governor had attempted to sell the senate seat vacated by Barack Obama upon his election to the presidency. In June 2011, Blagojevich was convicted and sentenced to 14 years in prison, of which he has served nearly eight. The sentence was considered by many to be unduly harsh, given the former governor’s lack of criminal record. Durbin, for his part, seemed to agree, at least when the Trump administration first began floating the idea of a commutation. “I think that the sentence imposed on Rod Blagojevich was definitely way too long,” Durbin told the Washington Post in June 2018. “Fourteen years, it didn’t make sense.” At the time, Durbin refused to discuss whether or not he believed Blagojevich was guilty, but he did admit the length of the former governor’s sentence was “outrageous.” “If there’s a way to reduce the sentence for him and his family, I would support it,” the senator told the Post. “I’ll let President Trump make that decision, but I certainly think 14 years was entirely too long.”

www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-james-clyburn-attacks-trump-black-unemployment-better-when-we-were-slavesDemocrat James Clyburn Attacks Trump: Black Unemployment Better When We Were Slaves Majority Whip Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) refused to give President Donald Trump any credit during an interview on Wednesday for delivering record low unemployment rates for the black community, and instead argued that blacks had more jobs when they were slaves. Clyburn made the remarks during an interview with Fox News when host Neil Cavuto brought up racially insensitive remarks made by Democrat billionaire Michael Bloomberg. “If he were the nominee, would you back him?” Cavuto asked Clyburn. “Oh, I’m going to back whoever our nominee is, absolutely,” Clyburn responded. “Even with the things he has said about African Americans? Or does that bother you?” Cavuto asked. “Well, not as much as what Trump has said about African Americans,” Clyburn continued. “Anytime that I go to the polls, I’m considering positives and negatives on all candidates, and I try to go with the one whose positives outweigh the negatives.” “Well let’s leave the words aside, alright congressman? Let’s leave the words aside. Whether you like his style or not, or tweets or not, or comments or not, he’s delivered the goods for a lot of African Americans, has he not?” Cavuto asked. “With record low unemployment levels, one group after another, mostly with African Americans. You don’t think that’s something that’s constructive?”” “No, no, because it’s not true,” Clyburn falsely claimed. “What do you mean it’s not true?” Cavuto pressed. “I’m saying African American unemployment is not the lowest it’s ever been, unless you count slavery,” Clyburn responded. “We were fully unemployed during slavery, so it all depends about how you measure this up.” WATCH:
