www.breitbart.com/big-hollywood/2018/08/08/celebrities-trash-ohio-voters-after-democrat-loss-this-is-an-embarrassment/Hollywood-backed Democratic candidates didn’t fare as well as politically engaged celebrities had hoped in Tuesday’s elections, which sparked Russian meddling conspiracy theorizing and celebs bashing Green Party voters in Ohio. The contest between Republican Troy Balderson and Democrat Danny O’Connor in Ohio’s 12th congressional district garnered perhaps the most celebrity attention in the weeks and days leading up to the election. Actresses Chelsea Handler and Alyssa Milano and Grammy-winner John legend publicly endorsed the 30-year-old O’Connor. ......... But, at the time of this reporting, Balderson is in the lead. Which brings us to the stars who’ve taken to social media to blame “Russian meddling” and voters who cast a ballot for the Green Party candidate. Alyssa Milano ✔ @alyssa_Milano You know what sucks? Because of our unwillingness to pass policy that protects our election integrity, I immediately think the Green Party votes tonight are Russian meddling. R's a bunch of fucking crooks. Drain that swamp indeed asshole! 6 Republicans are connected to the Collins insider trading scandal #LockThemUp
1. Tom Price, who served as Secretary of Health and Human Services. During his confirmation hearings, Price was accused of taking advantage of a special deal on Innate stock only available to a select number of lawmakers at a discount offered by Collins. 2. Rep. John Culberson (R-TX): The Texas Republican claimed he heard about Innate from media reports, but as the Houston Chronicle noted, it’s not clear which. At the time of his purchase, Innate was described as “a tiny pharmaceutical company from Australia that has no approved drugs and no backing from flashy venture capital firms.” The Chronicle pointed out that Culberson’s past investment history does not square with his purchase of biotech stocks and his opponent, a research physician, has wondered what led Culberson to invest, “since at the time he bought it in January there had been no published research articles or significant clinical trial updates on the drug, known as MIS416.” 3. Rep. Mike Conaway (R-TX) is another Texas lawmaker who bought large shares in Innate. He does not appear to have purchased Innate stock at a discount. 4. Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) sat Health Subcommittee of the Committee on Energy and Commerce at the time of his stock purchase, raising a possible conflict of interest www.rawstory.com/2018/08/6-republicans-connected-insider-trading-scandal-just-exploded-trump-loving-congressman/

Latest Investor's Business Daily poll...Republicans 45, Democrats 45Other tidbits: * the share of Americans saying they're optimistic about the direction of the country rising above 50 for the first time since January 2005. *the Presidential Leadership Index jumped 3.2% to 45.7 in August, the highest since Trump's first month in office. *Those data have been confirmed by the IBD/TIPP Economic Optimism Index, which rose 2.8% to 58 in August, its highest since January of 2004. *The near-eight-year rebound from the Financial Crisis marked a giant dead spot in the U.S. economy of slow economic and jobs growth. But that now appears definitively over, at least in most Americans' minds. That can be seen in one of IBD/TIPP's lesser-known indicators, our "Financial Stress" index...For years, that index showed Americans were highly stressed-out about their finances, with monthly index numbers routinely in the 60s. Remember, the higher the index, the more it's a sign of high financial stress. While that index has averaged about 59.4 since its creation, it peaked at 74 in October of 2008, during the depths of the economic crisis and just a month before the presidential election...But this month, that same index crashed below the 50 level to 47.4 — its lowest level ever.* Those aged 25-44, roughly the same demographic cohort as the millennial age group, saw their optimism about the economy jump to 63.7 in August, a 10% gain from July. That, too, is a all-time high. * Then there are the independents. They make up more than a third of the electorate these days. Though not organized, they are a de facto third party in American politics. Their optimism about the economy jumped 7% in August to 57.2. and the one that is sure to stick in Irish's craw...* The point is, for all the trauma and hysteria that President Trump's tweets cause among the media, average Americans seem mostly to ignore it. But they like his economic policies — based on lower taxes and deregulation — and the faster growth and plentiful jobs that come with them. If this were an economic report card, Trump would get an 'A.'

Given how the immigration issue is highly ranked by voters, this should prove interesting: dailycaller.com/2018/08/08/pelosi-democrats-illegal-immigrants-leverage/House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said on Wednesday that voting for Democrats gives “leverage” to illegal immigrants. Pelosi said during a press conference in El Paso, Texas that people who “have a completely positive view” of immigrants should vote for Democrats in the hopes of giving “leverage” to people who cross the U.S. border illegally. “We are not going to be able to get it done under the Republican leadership in Congress,” Pelosi said of immigration reform. “We believe that we will have leverage when we win in November. And why thats important?” “Because it gives leverage to every family, to every mom who courageously brought her child across the desert to escape, to escape death, rape, gang violence and the rest,” she continued. “Because it gives hope, because of the leverage it gives to families who may have followed — dad may have gone home for a family funeral and now can’t come into the country. All of those injustices have to be corrected.”

Interesting. The Democrats found 500 votes just laying around that were not counted. Nothing suspicious about this at all: www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2018/08/08/ohio-midterm-uncounted-votes-danny-oconnor-troy-balderson/941603002/The tight race between Democrat Danny O’Connor and Republican Troy Balderson just got tighter. Election officials in Franklin County found 588 previously uncounted votes in a Columbus suburb. The result: O’Connor had a net gain of 190 votes, bringing the race’s margin down to 1,564. “The votes from a portion of one voting location had not been processed into the tabulation system,” according to a Franklin County Board of Elections news release. Balderson declared victory Tuesday night in the closely watched congressional district race in central Ohio. But O’Connor says he’s waiting for all votes to be counted. That includes 3,435 provisional ballots and 5,048 absentee ballots, which will be tabulated by Aug. 24.

Adding to this: www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-08-09/dem-senator-claims-russia-has-penetrated-florida-voter-registration-systemsDem Senator Claims Russia Has Penetrated Florida Voter Registration Systems Profile picture for user Tyler Durden by Tyler Durden Thu, 08/09/2018 - 12:35 58 SHARES TwitterFacebookRedditEmailPrint Authored by Joseph Jankowski via PlanetFreeWill.com, Democrat Senator Bill Nelson has claimed that Russian operatives have “penetrated” some of Florida’s voter registration systems ahead of the 2018 midterms. On Wednesday, Nelson told the Tampa Bay Times that “(Russian operatives) have already penetrated certain counties in the state and they now have free rein to move about.” www.tampabay.com/florida-politics/buzz/2018/08/08/bill-nelson-the-russians-have-penetrated-some-florida-voter-election-systems/Nelson said something similar a day earlier in Tallahassee but did not elaborate. “That’s classified,” the Democrat said Tuesday. The Senator outlined a scenario in which Russian entities have stripped voters of their registration in order to cause disorder within American democracy. “You can imagine the chaos that would occur on Election Day when the voters get to the polls and they say, ‘I’m sorry Mr. Smith, I’m sorry Mr. Jones, you’re not registered,'” Nelson said. “That’s exactly what the Russians want to do. They want to sow chaos in our democratic institutions.” In November Nelson will square off in a re-election bid with current Florida governor Rick Scott, whose administration has insisted they have no knowledge of any meddling in state voter registration. Last month, Republican Marco Rubio joined Nelson in penning a letter to the 67 county election supervisors about potential threats, but according to the Tampa Bay Times, that letter lacked the specificity Nelson laid out this week. “We were requested by the chairman and vice chairman of the Intelligence Committee to let the supervisors of election in Florida know that the Russians are in their records,” Nelson said Wednesday. Communications Director at the Florida Department of State, Sarah Revell, said in a statement that the agency “has received zero information from Senator Nelson or his staff that support his claims.” “Additionally, the Department has received no information from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation or the Florida Department of Law Enforcement that corroborates Senator Nelson’s statement and we have no evidence to support these claims,” her statement read. “If Senator Nelson has specific information about threats to our elections, he should share it with election officials in Florida,” Revell added.

Something else to blame on Russia: www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/08/09/democrat-lead-in-august-generic-ballot-drops-to-two-points/The latest round of polls that look at the generic ballot show a dramatic drop for Democrats as we head into the 2018 mid-terms elections. In the Real Clear Politics poll of polls, Democrats enjoyed a seven point advantage last week. As of Thursday, that lead has slipped to just five points. That five point lead, though, includes polls going back to mid-July, including an outlier Quinnipiac poll that gave Democrats a 12 point lead. If you look only at the four polls taken this month, the Democrat lead drops to an average of just 2 (2.25) points. Rasmussen shows Democrats at +4 (45-41 percent) — down from +6 last week. IBD/TIPP has both parties all tied up at 45 percent — down from +8 Democrat lead at the end of June. Economist/YouGov has Democrats +3 (44-41 percent) — down from +4 last week. Reuters/Ipsos has Democrats +2 (41-39 percent) — down from +6 last week. There are a number of possible explanations for this fairly dramatic movement away from the Big Blue Wave. To begin with, we have had some undeniably good economic news of late, which voters are crediting President Trump for. Also, Trump has been aggressively stumping for Republicans with as many as three rallies just last week. What’s more, despite the best efforts of the establishment media to hide good news from Trump and to protect Democrats from themselves, thanks to alternative media, the extremism of the Pelosi left is, the message about the reality of what a Democrat-controlled House of Representatives could mean for the country (ginned up scandals, gridlock, bitter partisanship, and a move to impeach Trump over nonsense) is getting out. While there is no question Democrats are energized for 2018, as they run around praising socialism, putting illegal aliens above law-abiding American citizens, and promise to dismantle border enforcement and ICE, these are the kinds of terrifying realities that energize the rest of America and turn off reasonable Democrats.

www.nytimes.com/2018/08/09/opinion/constitution-founders-democracy-trump.htmlThink the Constitution Will Save Us? Think Again The subversion of democracy was the explicit intent of the framers. By Meagan Day and Bhaskar Sunkara Ms. Day is a staff writer at Jacobin, where Mr. Sunkara is editor. ...... Consider a few facts: Donald Trump is in the White House, despite winning almost three million fewer votes than Hillary Clinton. The Senate, the country’s most powerful legislative chamber, grants the same representation to Wyoming’s 579,315 residents as it does to 39,536,653 Californians. Key voting rights are denied to citizens in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and other United States territories. The American government is structured by an 18th-century text that is almost impossible to change. These ills didn’t come about by accident; the subversion of democracy was the explicit intent of the Constitution’s framers. For James Madison, writing in Federalist No. 10, “Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention” incompatible with the rights of property owners. The byzantine Constitution he helped create serves as the foundation for a system of government that rules over people, rather than an evolving tool for popular self-government. ....... How hard would change be? As Mr. Ackerman reminds us, while constitutional change is straightforward and feasible in most countries, “an amendment to the U.S. Constitution requires the consent of no less than thirty-nine different legislatures comprising roughly seventy-eight separately elected chambers.” But it’s a problem worth confronting. As long as we think of our Constitution as a sacred document, instead of an outdated relic, we’ll have to deal with its anti-democratic consequences. .......

The man, who remains unidentified, was told to remove his hat before he could cast a ballot, the Kansas City Star reported. But that was wrong. "The Missouri Secretary of State’s Office said he could, in fact, wear the hat because it doesn’t pertain to this primary election, according to Tiffany Ellison, a director with the Clay County Election Board," the Star reported.

www.yahoo.com/news/florida-gov-rick-scott-says-wants-proof-sen-164411444--election.htmlTALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida Gov. Rick Scott is demanding that U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson provide proof to back up his statement that Russian operatives have penetrated some of his state's election systems. Scott, a Republican, is running against Nelson, a Democrat, this year and during a Friday campaign stop in Tampa said Nelson "must come clean." Nelson made his comments earlier this week, but said he couldn't provide many details because the information is classified. State officials have said they haven't received any information to corroborate Nelson's comments. Nelson put out a statement Thursday saying he hoped federal officials could "immediately provide" state officials with information. Both Nelson and Sen. Marco Rubio wrote a letter last month to all 67 of the county election supervisors in their state warning them about possible interference.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6047595/Ranting-Democratic-Congress-candidate-caught-insulting-district-running-represent.htmlA Democratic candidate for Congress ranted that he hated the county he is now running to represent, as he was arrested for drunk driving in Georgia. Steven Lamar Foster, 61, was arrested on September 23 of last year and held nothing back as cops cuffed him. New police dash cam footage reveals how Foster insulted Whitfield County, where he’s worked for over a decade. Six months later he launched a campaign to represent the district. ‘Eleven years I served this county. I hate this county. I prayed to God that he would curse it. And guess what? He did,’ he said in the arrest footage. ‘Man, I saw it hit and cursed, and I saw people laid off right and left – white people. I hate this county …’ he added.

dailycaller.com/2018/08/10/democrats-generic-ballot-disappeared/Republicans appear to have closed the gap with Democrats in the all-important “generic ballot” — a clear sign that the GOP is surging politically in the run-up to the November 2018 midterms. Democrats continue to insist that a “Blue Wave” will sweep their party back into control of the House of Representatives and may even allow them to recapture the Senate as well. But the generic ballot — the best single measure of the relative balance of support of the two parties with the electorate — strongly suggests otherwise. In the last week alone, three major pollsters have found that the gap between the two parties is statistically negligible. YouGov found a Democratic advantage of just 2 points. Reuters found a margin of 3 points. And IBB/TIPP, considered by many to be the single most reliable pollster in the country, reported that the race is a dead heat. These findings, which contrast sharply with the large double-digit lead Democrats enjoyed last December, and again in early July, put the lie to their party’s claims of growing Trump and GOP weakness. In fact, Trump’s own polling numbers are continuing to inch upward, with major gains reported among Hispanics, Blacks, gays, millennials and of course, Republicans. On the economy, the president enjoys widespread popular support that appears to be spilling over into support for many down ticket GOP candidates. Trump is “5 for 5” with candidates he had endorsed, including most recently Troy Balderson, who won a close contest in Ohio’s 12th Congressional District this past week. Trump’s willingness to go to the mat for Balderson suggests that Democratic claims – and some GOP fears – that White House support would become an albatross for the party are largely unfounded. Even some liberal analysts estimate that the Democrats would need a large single digit advantage in the generic ballot to prevail in November. Although first-term presidents usually experience a partisan reversal in Congress two years after taking office, Trump may be poised to reverse that historic trend. Steady job growth, increased labor force participation and a phenomenal 4.1% GDP growth rate in the last quarter – coupled with the trickle down benefits of a sweeping tax reform bill that Democrats boycotted — have left Trump’s critics stumbling to find a compelling mid-term election message to dislodge GOP candidates. The Democrats need to flip 24 GOP seats to regain control of the House. But a number of contests in southern California and even traditionally Blue Minnesota could be slipping from the Democrats’ grasp, the latest polls show.

dailycaller.com/2018/08/10/democrats-generic-ballot-disappeared/Republicans appear to have closed the gap with Democrats in the all-important “generic ballot” — a clear sign that the GOP is surging politically in the run-up to the November 2018 midterms. He's another poll for you. Poll that shows 50% approval rating: www.express.co.uk/news/world/998515/Donald-Trump-news-Obama-US-poll-Rasmussen-Reports-US-approval-rating/ampThe US polling company, Rasmussen Reports, published the poll on Thursday August 2, which was among the very few polls that correctly predicted that Mr Trump would defeat Hillary Clinton in the shock 2016 election. The difference between this poll and other polls is that this one relies on push button phone call responses so voters do not have to say who they support out loud. The approval rating of President Trump is five points higher than his predecessor Barack Obama achieved 18 months into his first term in office. ....... So, technically, it was accurate depending on the poll referenced.

Xenia Orona was Garcia’s digital director until PJ Media requested a comment regarding her old tweets. In a now-deleted tweet from January of this year, Orona discussed her immigrant heritage, noting that she is “from 5 generations of border crossers between this #sh*thole ? country and la Madre Tierra of Mexico.” In a follow-up to that tweet, also deleted, Orona said: “I will keep working to make the US live up to its false advertising to be the land of opportunity and stop taking advantage of my people." pjmedia.com/trending/breaking-dem-staffer-resigns-after-pj-media-reports-old-tweets/pjmedia.com/trending/david-garcia-staffer-tweeted-fk-you-arizona-called-usa-a-shthole-country-in-old-tweets/Orona also took her home state of Arizona to task for voting for Republican Mitt Romney over President Barack Obama in 2012, tweeting: “An open letter to Arizona: F*ck you.” Orona also appeared to dislike law enforcement, calling the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency “abusive” and adding that it “needs to be abolished,” according to a screenshot from PJ Media. In another tweet, from September 2017, Orona claimed: “Law and order is the smokescreen that bigots hide their hate behind. Remember that when you hear talk of enforcement.”
