Good grief ............this should be against the law After over 300 shows this is still the best guitar solo I've seen in concert. Roger Waters was at the River Spirit during the election, maybe just after. I’ve never seen waters or Gilmour live yet (I’ve been to laser light shows of course and even seen Brit Floyd a few times). Anyway, I really wanted to go because a) it was right down the street and b) Floyd is in my top 5 favorite bands. But.....it was the freaking height of the anti-Trump fervor, and waters had “fuck Trump” and other sayings in lights during the shows. I just couldn’t pay money to go see that. It’s been prob two years, and I’m still sad about that.

I know politics and music have always gone hand in hand. One of my favorites, Springsteen, is as political as it gets. If he started turning his shows into rants and shit I would stop going. Shut up and sing.CSNY has said the only thing they hate more than each other is Trump and that's why they would reform. To spread the word. Luckily I've seen them in the past because I'm not going near that. Waters was here and had the Fuck Trump video boards going the entire time. Sorry but I'm not sitting through that - especially someone from another country. One whose own country is a shithole in places.

That's the downside of enjoying music..... or movies , or TV ....or about anything that the " creative " people control. For some reason, those folks with over developed creative part of their brains, lack pragmatic good sense or ability to think logically.
Mrs Hermit enjoys the medical , legal, and police dramas like CSI. I don't watch them, I'm usually reading while they're on, but I get the gist of the plots and they're filled with political sub-themes. Some are so bad, they could really be classified as political propaganda. They paint pictures of old white men being villains. Illegal immigrants being very bright attractive people who are caught in a hopeless situation vrs ICE. Whatever the current political issue of the day is, they find a way to put into their plots with a liberal twist.
So where do ya go for entertainment to get away from it ? Hell, ESPN does not miss a chance to interject it into sports.
Last several years, I've been reading WW II books. They allow me to escape to another era. There must be thousands of them, mostly written from 1945 through the 1960's. I'm currently reading " Wahoo, the patrols of America's most famous WW II submarine " . I just finished " Sink Em All " and " USS Seawolf " before that. I've been on a submarine warfare kick lately. There's very little political in the books and if its there, its nothing like the crap we see today.

Some of my favorite shows are CSI, Criminal Intent, Law & Order, etc. They have themes and plenty of liberal comments. I can't watch these new shows that openly shove the agenda. Murphy Brown? We hate Trump so deal with it. Madame Secretary was of course getting us ready for Madame Hillary. Look at all these new comedies with racial themes. And just in time for Christmas comes the Dick Cheney movie. I have enjoyed blue Bloods. You know with Selleck that it's going to fly right. Check out his Jesse Stone series. New shows? I'm liking The Rookie, FBI, and Manifest. That's about it. Sadly my daughter likes to talk about watching the "late night news shows". When I'm watching my shows I see the promos for them. Almost every night Colbert has on someone political. How do you think those interviews are going to go?

Medical dramas are the worst, Pedro needs a transplant, but only Juan can help Pedro, but Juan is being tracked down by ICE, nurses doctors all work to protect Juan so they can save Pedro. Unemployment is extremely low, but any actors working commercials who are white , just better forget about it. It appears to me that everything is being sold by african americans these days, they dominate the advertising. Not many jobs for white commercial actors.
Mrs Hermit is hooked on The Rookie and she's now starting FBI.

Castle is one of my favorite shows and I like him here too. I need to watch Firefly. FBI has gained some steam. I like the lead agents - the woman has an Angie Harmon thing going - and I like Jeremy Sisto(from L&O) as well a still smokin' at 63 Sela Ward. So far the plot lines aren't too absurd. You can tell from my DVD sets what I like. 24, The Shield, The Wire, Criminal Intent, Monk, Blue Bloods, Castle, Jesse Stone.

Did they draw a good crowd ?
Kenny Wayne Shepherd with Beth Hart, were announced today at The Brady on April 7 . I would jump all over this if it were OKC.
Presale started today at 10 am, still a lot of good tickets.

I haven’t really gotten into the few Blackberry Smoke songs I’ve heard on Pandora, but my buddy loves them. Guess I should try a few more tunes.

Ally Venable Band @knuckleheads, KCMO. I saw here this fall with Mike Zito and Bernard Allison on the Blues Caravan Tour. She's 19 and is making mher 3rd album. I've seen over 300 shows so it's hard to be impressed but she blew me away. She played for close to 2 hours and besides a slow blues number every song was absolutely shredded. I can honestly say I don't see people play like that very often. Catch her if you can. Ally Venable - guitar, vocal Bobby Wallace - bass Elijah Owings - drums She didn't play this but the guitar is very similar

Well, I'm listening to #1 Anthony Gomes ............. I'm five songs in and not impressed. I don't like this.
It was free with Amazon Prime Music Unlimited. I hope most of the others are too.

Three of top 5 aren't available on Amazon Music and I'm not gonna buy them without having heard them. But the rest of the top 10 are there and I'm workin my way through them. Do need beer to help my ear.
If Gomes was #1 , then this is a bad year. Not like last year's stellar class of great albums.
But I gotta hunch, the ballot box was stuffed. I don't recall them allowing on-line voting in previous years.
