I likewise don’t have a side as I’m a registered independent voter, however, what I’m exposing with this is the charade of hypocrisy by those who oppose President Trump, his decisions, etc,(much as you and others here have). As for facts, this one here has as much “facts” and “legitimate allegations” as what the Dems & their MSM sycophants had against Kavanaugh and the whole Russia narrative, yet it didn’t stop those on that side of the aisle,(& those vocally opposed to the President here), from running with it. However, simply turn the tables with the same scenario and their view points change,(thus revealing their blatant hypocrisy that is created due to their dislike for the current President and their unwillingness to accept their several elections in a row defeats by the voting public). As for tin hats, again, check the Kavanaugh & Russia collusion fiascos and get back with me. So whataboutisms and ignoring facts from each situation and assigning blanket statements/apples-to-oranges comparisons. Got it. Thanks! This is not the 'same scenario' no matter how much you want it to be. Actually, it is,(however as it is against someone who you politically align with, you move the goalposts to attempt to justify the hypocrisy). It’s a baseless claim made with an unknown “victim” & in the absence of any facts or intelligence to corroborate the claim,(which according the Ford’s attorneys, (& the sympathetic media), they didn’t need to prove the case, it was up to the defendant to prove he didn’t do it). Remember these words : “It’s the seriousness of the charge”. According to the critics/opponents of the President, that’s all that matters,(unless it’s someone opposed to said President and then goalposts shift accordingly).

In August of 2017, Matthew Whitaker penned an op-ed for CNN titled, “Mueller’s Investigation of Trump is Going Too Far” wherein he argued the Special Counsel is roving outside of his jurisdiction to investigate Trump-Russia collusion: www.cnn.com/2017/08/06/opinions/rosenstein-should-curb-mueller-whittaker-opinion/index.htmlWhitaker also brought up Rosenstein’s letter appointing Mueller and argued it does not give the Special Counsel far-reaching powers beyond Trump-Russia: In the penultimate paragraph and conclusion of his op-ed, Whitaker criticizes Rosenstein and says if the DAG doesn’t order Mueller to limit the scope of his probe, it will look like a “witch hunt.”

Photo FILE PHOTO: Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer speaks with reporters following the weekly policy luncheons on Capitol Hill in Washington, U.S., October 2, 2018. REUTERS/AARON P. BERNSTEIN/FILE PHOTO (Reuters) - Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said on Wednesday that acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, who was appointed by President Donald Trump after he fired Jeff Sessions, should recuse himself from oversight of the Russia probe. "Given his previous comments advocating defunding and imposing limitations on the Mueller investigation, Mr. Whitaker should recuse himself from its oversight for the duration of his time as acting attorney general," Schumer said in a statement.

Whitacker sounds like the man. Doesnt want to tell Mueller he's done, but will limit his scope in a way Rosenstien never benefitted from. Thank goodness. All this talk of him recusing himself can take a hike. I agree Sessions needed to recuse himself (and I know thats not a popular opinion), but this Whitacker guy wasn’t on Trumps campaign or anything.
Also, having the Senate firmly in hand is going to make this replacement a shoo in!
The wins just keep on coming!

Sessions was a bad choice. He cost the GOP a Senate seat and he's been a disaster as AG. I notice the media is already trashing this guy.

Maddow pissing her self on air as she calls Whitaker a "loyalist". What did she call Holder and Lynch? No outrage when Holder said he was Obama’s wingman: www.politico.com/blogs/politico44/2013/04/eric-holder-im-still-the-presidents-wingman-160861Attorney General Eric Holder brushed off a question Thursday about when he might leave the administration. Instead, the top lawman professed his allegiance to President Barack Obama. "I’m still enjoying what I’m doing, there’s still work to be done. I’m still the President’s wing-man, so I’m there with my boy. So we’ll see," Holder said in an interview on the Tom Joyner radio show. .......... They are scared that Mueller’s Investigation is about to get reigned in and focus only on Russia/Trump collusion, and the President’s enemies do not like that.

According to Fox News’s Catherine Herridge, Whitaker has worked quietly behind the scenes in support of the push to declassify the Russia documents.

Nancy Pelosi ✔ @nancypelosi Given his record of threats to undermine & weaken the Russia investigation, Matthew Whitaker should recuse himself from any involvement in Mueller’s investigation. Congress must take immediate action to protect the rule of law and integrity of the investigation. #FollowTheFacts 4:01 PM - Nov 7, 2018

dailycaller.com/2018/11/08/mueller-trump-tower-records-roger-stone/Special counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly sought Trump Tower records of any phone calls or visitor logs regarding Roger Stone. Mueller’s team is investigating what Stone, a longtime Trump confidant, may have known about Wikileaks’ plans to release Democrats’ stolen emails. But Stone vehemently denies visiting Trump Tower after leaving the Trump campaign in August 2015. He says he spoke to Trump in 2016, but never about Wikileaks. Special counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly asked President Donald Trump’s legal team for visitation and phone records from Trump Tower regarding Roger Stone, the longtime Trump confidant currently under scrutiny in the special counsel’s probe. But Stone, a political operative known for unorthodox tactics, says that investigators will not find anything of significance in their probe. “No visits to Trump Tower from August 2015 until after the election when the President-elect asked me to visit,” said Stone to The Daily Caller News Foundation. He advised Trump’s campaign until Aug. 8, 2015. “Occasional phone calls with Trump in 2016 all initiated by him and certainly never a discussion of Wikileaks whatsoever!” ......... Think about that. The FBI doesn't need "records" of any calls, as they had the campaign wiretapped,(plus employed several spies in the campaign). They have everything, including transcripts. We know they have transcripts because they kept leaking them to the media. So when Mueller wants records, what he REALLY wants is for Stone to try and use his memory to make a list, which Mueller will then use his wiretaps to 'prove' that Stone is lying because of a wrong date or forgotten call...

www.breitbart.com/politics/2018/11/08/watch-live-leftists-rally-at-white-house-to-protest-trump-protect-mueller/Protests are taking place around the country Thursday night, organized by the leftist MoveOn and other anti-Trump organizations, including in Washington, DC, and New York City in response to President Donald Trump’s decision to ask for Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ resignation. Protesters believe Sessions’ resignation will lead to the undoing of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into alleged collusion between Russia and the Trump presidential campaign. So far the probe has resulted in some indictments and convictions but nothing tied directly to the president. The Nobody Is Above the Law website states about the protests: Donald Trump has installed a crony to oversee the special counsel’s Trump-Russia investigation, crossing a red line set to protect the investigation. By replacing Rod Rosenstein with just-named Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker as special counsel Robert Mueller’s boss on the investigation, Trump has undercut the independence of the investigation. Whitaker has publicly outlined strategies to stifle the investigation and cannot be allowed to remain in charge of it. The Nobody Is Above the Law network demands that Whitaker immediately commit not to assume supervision of the investigation. Our hundreds of response events are being launched to demonstrate the public demand for action to correct this injustice. We will update this page as the situation develops. — Donald Trump just crossed a red line, violating the independence of the investigation pursuing criminal charges in the Trump-Russia scandal and cover-up. Trump putting himself above the law is a threat to our democracy, and we’ve got to get Congress to stop him. We’re mobilizing immediately to demand accountability, because Trump is not above the law. It is not clear how long Whitaker will be the acting attorney general, as a discussion about a permanent replacement is underway at the White House in the wake of Sessions’ resignation. ............. Trump should hire Whitaker as his opponents despise him.

dailycaller.com/2018/11/09/sessions-interview-mueller-probe/In an interview just after being forced to resign as attorney general on Wednesday, Jeff Sessions stood by his decision to recuse himself from overseeing the Mueller probe, while acknowledging that the length of the investigation has proved “unhealthy.” Sessions spoke to Wall Street Journal’s Judith Miller as he was leaving the Justice Department. Sessions told Miller that he did not expect the Mueller probe would last as long as it has. And though he suggested the 18 month investigation has lasted too long, he said that “the country is committed to this course.” (RELATED: Trump Fires Jeff Sessions) He said that he is “confident” that the investigation is being handled “appropriately and with justification.”

Uh oh... nypost.com/2018/11/09/james-comey-discussed-sensitive-fbi-business-on-his-private-email/The inspector general’s report on the FBI and Justice Department’s probe of Hillary Clinton’s private email server found that several G-men — including former director James Comey — used “personal email accounts for official government business,” a violation of bureau protocol. IG Michael Horowitz discovered five instances in which Comey either drafted official messages or forwarded emails to his personal account, the Washington Post reported.
