Nike learns that actions have consequences,(seems the left and their allies have been learning this a lot here recently): www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/07/02/doug-ducey-yanks-az-nike-plant-incentives-after-betsy-ross-flag-shoes-pulled/Arizona Governor Doug Ducey (R) announced Tuesday morning he has directed the Arizona Commerce Authority to cancel all financial incentives for Nike’s planned manufacturing plant in the Grand Canyon State. Ducey said his decision was made in response to a Wall Street Journal report stating former NFL anthem-protester and Nike pitchman Colin Kaepernick pressured Nike to pull its America-themed 4th of July sneakers featuring the “Betsy Ross” flag because he and others found the design to be offensive. “Nike has chosen not to release the Air Max 1 Quick Strike Fourth of July as it featured an old version of the American flag,” a company spokesperson said in a statement to CNN of the decision. In a series of tweets, Ducey expressed his disappointed in Nike’s decision to nix the shoes and explained his decision to withdraw incentives to the company. “Words cannot express my disappointment at this terrible decision. I am embarrassed for Nike,” Ducey wrote on Twitter. “Nike is an iconic American brand and American company. This country, our system of government and free enterprise have allowed them to prosper and flourish.” “Instead of celebrating American history the week of our nation’s independence, Nike has apparently decided that Betsy Ross is unworthy, and has bowed to the current onslaught of political correctness and historical revisionism. It is a shameful retreat for the company. American businesses should be proud of our country’s history, not abandoning it,” the Arizona Governor continued. “Nike has made its decision, and now we’re making ours. I’ve ordered the Arizona Commerce Authority to withdraw all financial incentive dollars under their discretion that the State was providing for the company to locate here. Arizona’s economy is doing just fine without Nike. We don’t need to suck up to companies that consciously denigrate our nation’s history. And finally, it shouldn’t take a controversy over a shoe for our kids to know who Betsy Ross is. A founding mother. Her story should be taught in all American schools. In the meantime, it’s worth googling her,” he added. According to the Arizona Republic, Nike has plans to invest at least $184.5 million into the plant. The move is estimated to create more than 500 full-time jobs as well as $7.7 million in direct revenue for the area. The plant’s overall economic impact is said to be valued at more than $483 million in its first five years of operation. Kaepernick, then with the San Francisco 49ers, sparked a wave of protests about social and racial injustice in 2016 by kneeling during the national anthem at games. Since then, Nike hired him to be the face of its “Just Do It” ad campaign with the slogan: “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.” The Journal previously reported,“The campaign generated a backlash among some consumers, who began torching Nike shoes and cutting its swoosh logo out of gear. The protests were countered by expressions of support for Nike. “Since the ad was released, Nike has posted higher sales, boosted by strong demand in both the U.S. and China. In the fourth quarter, sales rose 4% to $10.18 billion. Its share price has climbed more than 15% so far this year,” the newspaper added.

www.dailywire.com/news/49088/walsh-we-were-told-kaepernick-was-protesting-matt-walshWALSH: We Were Told That Kaepernick Was Protesting Police Brutality, Not The Flag. Now The Truth Has Finally Come Out. ................ There is almost nothing to say about the fact that Nike recalled a patriotic American flag shoe after Colin Kaepernick complained. It is so self-evidently absurd and disgraceful — such a cowardly surrender to political correctness — that analysis is rendered moot. Kaepernick reportedly felt that the flag — a Betsy Ross flag from the American Revolution — somehow represents slavery. Of course, if the American flag represents slavery, then every flag of every country 200 years old or over also represents slavery. Slavery was a universally accepted institution all across the world for thousands of years. The only thing unique about American slavery is that we practiced it for such a comparatively short amount of time. Egypt had slavery for 3,000 years. We had it for 90. These are facts that have apparently escaped Kaepernick's notice. The one notable, though far from surprising, aspect of this story is how it finally exposes the truth behind Kaepernick's kneeling stunt. We were told for years that the kneelers were not protesting the flag — or the country or the national anthem, for that matter. A viral tweet with over 300,000 likes summed up this defense: "Rosa Parks was not protesting the bus. Gandhi was not protesting the food. The colonists were not protesting tea. Players are not protesting the flag or the anthem. They are protesting injustice."Many in the media, including Shep Smith at Fox News, also made this claim. The NFL players themselves repeatedly declared that they were not protesting the flag, despite appearing to do exactly that. LeBron James, one of the highest-profile defenders of the anthem protests, tried to put a patriotic spin on it: "We know this is the greatest country in the world — it's the land of the free. But we still have problems just like everybody else. And when we have those problems, we have to figure out a way how we come together and be as great as we can be as a people." Kaepernick, who started it all, said that he was trying to call attention to "police violence" and "systematic oppression." He and his fellow kneelers always insisted that this was not about the flag itself. Well, in case anyone was ever fooled by all of the misdirection, the truth should now be clear: It was indeed about the flag. It was always about the flag. Colin Kaepernick does not like this country. That much is clear, by now. He is rich and famous and free — all things that he would not be if he lived in any number of other countries around the globe — but his privilege has made him bitter to his core. And he is free to be bitter. He is free to hate the United States and its flag and all it stands for. But he should be honest about where he really stands (or kneels) on the issue.

www.dailywire.com/news/49114/msnbcs-joy-reid-trump-having-july-4th-parade-ryan-saavedraMSNBC conspiracy theorist Joy Reid said on Tuesday that she believes that President Donald Trump is trying to send a "threat" to "his fellow Americans" by having a July 4th celebration that will feature tanks and military aircraft. Reid's comments came after Trump tweeted on Tuesday morning: "Big 4th of July in D.C. 'Salute to America.' The Pentagon & our great Military Leaders are thrilled to be doing this & showing to the American people, among other things, the strongest and most advanced Military anywhere in the World. Incredible Flyovers & biggest ever Fireworks!" He sort of aspires to be sort of a mini-Putin or Kim Jong-Un," Reid said in a clip first reported on by The Washington Free Beacon. "He wants to have that kind of absolute power." "What is the message Donald Trump is trying to send by rolling tanks down Constitution Avenue?" Reid continued. "Who is that message to? It's certainly not to tyrants because he likes tyrants, he loves tyrants. It's not to Putin, it's not to Kim Jong-Un, not to the Saudis. Is it to our friends, to Western democracies who he doesn't particularly like, or is it to us? Is it to the resistance in this country?" "I got tanks. I have this military armada. The message is a threat, but it's always a threat when you roll out your military," Reid concluded. "But it's to whom is the threat, and I suspect that the threat is to his fellow Americans. And I hate to say that, but I think that Donald Trump styles himself a tyrant, not a defeater of tyrants." USA Today reports that the "Salute to America" will include "flyovers of the Blue Angels and Air Force One, a lineup of military vehicles including tanks, and a pyrotechnic display that will illuminate 'over a mile of sky above and to the left and right of the Lincoln Memorial,' according to fireworks makers Phantom and Grucci which is donating extra pyrotechnics." Trump added on Twitter: "Thanks to 'Phantom Fireworks' and 'Fireworks by Grucci' for their generosity in donating the biggest fireworks show Washington D.C. has ever seen. CEO's Bruce Zoldan and Phil Grucci are helping to make this the greatest 4th of July celebration in our Nations history!"

www.dailywire.com/news/49113/nike-boycott-gains-steam-after-company-drops-amanda-prestigiacomoCalls to boycott Nike gained traction online on Tuesday when Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) encouraged others to #WalkAwayFromNike in a Twitter post after the athletic gear giant dropped an American flag-style shoe, apparently at the behest of famed anthem-kneeling former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick. I love America. I stand for the anthem, respect the flag & honor the men & women who fought to defend our Nation,” Cruz posted on Tuesday morning. “I respect Free Speech & I’m exerting mine: until [Nike] ends its contempt for those values, I WILL NO LONGER PURCHASE NIKE PRODUCTS.” “#WalkAwayFromNike [retweet] if you agree,” added the senator. Cruz was captioning his own post from a day earlier, which said in part: “It’s a good thing [Nike] only wants to sell sneakers to people who hate the American flag.” As of Tuesday evening, the tweet has garnered nearly 10,000 retweets and some 19,000 likes. As previously reported by The Daily Wire, “The Betsy Ross Flag" edition shoe was cancelled by Nike when Kaepernick reportedly complained about the new sneaker design, dubbing them “offensive.” The former 49er signed a multi-million dollar sponsorship deal with the massive company last year, sparking its own wave of controversy. The shoe protested by Kaepernick included a U.S. flag with 13 white stars in a circle on the heel of the sneaker, “a design created during the American Revolution and commonly referred to as the Betsy Ross flag,” reported The Wall Street Journal. As noted by The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh, Kaepernick claimed he was taking a knee during the playing of the national anthem before NFL games to protest police brutality and racial injustices; but his apparent disgust with the American flag-style shoe indicates he was indeed protesting the flag. Following the lead of Mr. Cruz, others online joined in, detailing their displeasure with Nike and vowing to steer clear of their products. “Ted, you're right! In sane American, regardless of politics, should #WalkAwayFromNike ....what an idiotic disgrace!” radio host Michael Medved agreed. Nike pulling your shoes with the Betsy Ross flag marginalizes the contribution of iconic America women. I stand for the values our flag represent. #walkawayfromnike,” one woman wrote. response to the controversial Nike move, Republican Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announced Tuesday morning that his state would be withdrawing financial incentives promised to Nike. “Nike has made its decision, and now we’re making ours,” Ducey said via Twitter. "I’ve ordered the Arizona Commerce Authority to withdraw all financial incentive dollars under their discretion that the State was providing for the company to locate here. Arizona’s economy is doing just fine without Nike. We don’t need to suck up to companies that consciously denigrate our nation’s history.” Grassroots organization FreedomWorks called on Nike CEO Mark Parker to unify Americans, rather than dividing us. “Rather than deepening the political divide in America, FreedomWorks calls upon Nike CEO Mark Parker to bring together outside voices who have defended our nation’s values and begin a dialogue that brings us together, rather than driving us further apart,” FreedomWorks told The Daily Wire in a statement on Tuesday. “I'm sure Nike thinks this move makes great business sense, but you cannot put a price-tag on core American values that so many have paid the ultimate price to defend. It's time for Nike to put the shoes back on the shelves and stop disrespecting our nation's history,” the organization added.

So, a video captured attack is now simply an alleged attack, due to Jussie Smollett's race hoax? dailycaller.com/2019/07/01/antifa-attack-andy-ngo-alleged-jussie-smollett/Shane Harris invoked the alleged Jussie Smollett hate hoax as a reason to call the Saturday Portland Antifa attack on journalist Andy Ngo — documented on video — “alleged.” During a Monday night panel discussion on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle,” Harris responded to guest host Jesse Watters’ question about whether or not he condemns the attack: “I do, in fact, condemn the alleged attack.” “Why is it alleged?” Watters asked. “It’s on video.” “Well because Jussie Smollett was alleged and because there’s been many other ‘alleged,'” Harris shot back. “But this was on video and there was a police report and his face is all bloody,” said Watters, who played video of the attack. “You’re watching it on the video here. We have video of him being talked to by police. We have a police report. We have a hospital report, and you just saw his face all bloodied and battered. If you’re still calling it ‘alleged,’ that’s crazy.” Later in the segment, panelist Dinesh D’Souza described Antifa as “a paramilitary group that trains in violent tactics and then plays them out on the street.” (RELATED: ‘When I Thought It Was Over, I Was Wrong:’ Andy Ngo Describes Brutal Antifa Attack) “What is Andy Ngo’s offense here?” asked D’Souza. “His offense is not that he’s a hater. He a diminutive 5’6” Asian American gay journalist, and what he’s been doing is exposing fake hate crimes. He’s been exposing the fact that a lot of these hate crimes are bogus. He’s also been documenting the violence on the streets of Portland. So these are his offenses. He has a video camera and shows you what is happening, this makes him a dangerous man. So that’s why they’re targeting him.” Harris interjected by saying Ngo “allegedly incites and instigates rioting.” Watters defended Ngo as a “credited member of the media.” “He works for an organization,” said the Fox News host. “You can’t say he’s not a journalist. He was there with a permit to cover an Antifa rally with a camera and a microphone. I’ve had him on my show before. He’s a legitimate journalist.” At one point, Watters asked Harris if he was “blaming” Ngo for the attack. “No, I’m not,” said Harris, blaming instead “horrible rhetoric.” “We’ll say Jussie Smollett, he’s kind of alleging. But this guy, we’ll say oh, you know it’s a different conversation. We’ve got to be fair across the line.” “We are fair,” Watters concluded. “There’s video in one circumstance and no video in the other circumstance.” Ngo was on talking to whoever is sitting in for Ben Shapiro. I don't know what he sounded like before but he now sounds as if his brain was scrambled. Sorry, allegedly scrambled.

The group, Code Pink, got approval from the National Park Service to have the balloon present between 4 a.m. and 9 p.m. ET on July 4 on a section of the National Mall near the Washington Monument. The permit states that “all balloons are prohibited” on the National Mall, but that the service would allow the Trump balloon to be present if it adhered to certain conditions, including being “filled with cold-air only and unable to achieve flight.”

dailycaller.com/2019/07/03/liberal-watchdog-retracts-heather-nauert-report/A Liberal watchdog group removed a story from its website Wednesday that claimed former State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert received a six-figure salary from Fox News’s parent company while she worked in government. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) reported Wednesday in the now-deleted story that Nauert filed financial disclosure documents after she left the State Department on March 31 that showed she reported being paid $167,000 from 21st Century Fox between January 2018 and March 2019. “Her disclosure as it currently reads suggests that she was representing the government in meetings with 21st Century Fox while continuing to receive a salary from the company,” wrote CREW, which called the payments “problematic.” (RELATED: Watchdog Group May Have Exaggerated Key Claims In Trump Lawsuit) But CREW retracted the story after an aggressive pushback from Nauert, and after the State Department produced documents that undercut the core claim of the report. “This is false,” Nauert wrote in a tweet directed at CREW. “I NEVER received salary from 21st Century Fox while employed by State Dept,” she continued, adding that CREW’s story was based on a clerical error made on a preliminary draft of her financial disclosure report. “The FINAL CERTIFIED report, available to anyone, makes it clear that I NEVER received salary from Fox while working for govt,” she said. Nauert, who worked as a Fox News host before joining the State Department, also went after ThinkProgress, a website affiliated with the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank. “Hatchet job!” she wrote in a tweet directed at the site, which published a report based on CREW’s story. “You ignored final certified report from State/Ethics,which confirms I received NO FOX SALARY while working 4 govt.” CREW said in a statement that it pulled the story after receiving additional information from the State Department. “CREW’s post was written based on publicly available financial disclosure documents certified by Ms. Nauert,” the group said in a statement. “At the time of publication, there was no other publicly available document,” it said. “Following publication, Ms. Nauert has made an amended version public. With the information provided in the new version, we have pulled the post down as it no longer reflects the information contained in the newest version of the report.” CREW has been heavily critical of the Trump administration. One of its senior advisers is Walter Shaub, who served as director of the Office of Government Ethics during parts of the Obama and Trump administrations. Trump chose Nauert in December to replace Nikki Haley as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. But Nauert pulled out of the running after she disclosed to the State Department that she once employed a nanny that was working illegally in the U.S.

www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/07/04/convicted-man-urged-swedish-female-cops-submit-isis-be-raped/A 34-year-old man in Sweden has been convicted of uttering threats after telling two female police officers to submit to Islamic State or face being raped. Fadi Daoud was convicted last week for the threats made in Norrköping in May 2017. Police had responded to a call after the 34-year-old was seen climbing onto a balcony and when he resisted calls to take his hands from his pockets, the officers were forced to subdue him, Nyheter Idag reports. “Fadi screamed several words of ignorance against us like ‘whore’, pussy cop’, and ‘pig bastard’ and that we would submit to Islamic State because he would otherwise rape both of us,” one of the officers said. After managing to detain the 34-year-old, officers say he ccontinued to insult them and threaten them with rape on the way to the police station. “He talked about Islamic State and asked us do we know what they do with ‘whores’ like us,” the officer said, adding that Daoud also made threats against her and her fellow officer’s families. While legal proceedings began in November 2017 and a trial date was originally set for January 2018, the process faced delays. In the end, Daoud was sentenced to a brief three months in prison with fines to be paid to the two policewomen. This incident is just the latest for the 34-year-old, who has reportedly been involved in 21 cases since 2001 and was previously convicted of several other crimes including abuse and drug offences.

www.dailywire.com/news/49177/hammer-salon-attacks-declaration-independence-josh-hammerThe leftist ingrates at Salon have decided to "celebrate" Independence Day — which is celebrated on July 4th for the sole reason that our beautiful republic's Declaration of Independence was ratified on that day in Philadelphia in 1776 — today in a rather peculiar manner. In what can only be described as a dissemination of the most stereotypically woke of all stereotypically woke takes, the Salon dullards today tweeted: "Despite its positive impact on history, the #DeclarationOfIndependence was also a product of its time—and bears some of the shortcomings of its era, including racism, sexism and prejudice against #NativeAmericans." The accompanying piece, courtesy of an obscure Ph.D. named Matthew Rozsa, concludes that America's Founding Fathers "were fallible human beings, and some of their flaws had terrible consequences for people who were not fortunate enough to be born into privileged groups." Suffice it to say that such a "celebration" of the Declaration of Independence is a far cry from how John Adams described his vision for future annual celebrations in a July 1776 letter to his wife Abigail: "I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more." But Matthew Rozsa and Salon are not merely profoundly ungrateful. They are not merely flipping a proverbial middle finger to the epistolary legacy of John Adams. They are also affirmatively wrong to muddle and belittle the genius that was Thomas Jefferson's drafted Declaration of Independence, and it is important to understand why. Chattel slavery was the original sin of the American republic, and one would be an inveterate fool to deny that obvious truth. The continuation of slavery from the colonial era through the early decades of the constitutional republic represented a brutal compromise of annunciated principle for the sake of maintaining a fragile unity of disaggregated and often self-interested states. But what Salon misses — and what leftists routinely miss — is that America's original sin of chattel slavery was just that: A compromise of principle. Slavery was not in any way a tenet of the American Founding; it was an institution manifestly athwart the Founding. The sagacity of the Declaration, in fact, was that it actually laid the seeds — the very codified foundation — for the eventual eradication of that most horrific of compromises of principle. For the greatest statesman in the history of the republic, Abraham Lincoln, the Declaration was precisely the tool he needed to latch onto in order to finally bring the American republic in conformity with its Founding-era principles. For Lincoln, the Declaration was paramount to understanding America — the Constitution, in fact, was to Lincoln merely an encompassing "frame of silver" for the Declaration's underlying "apple of gold." Lincoln spoke eloquently of that Founding-era creed — what he called the "political revolution of '76" — all throughout his adult life, including during his famous 1842 speech to the Springfield Washington Temperance Society: "Of our political revolution of '76, we all are justly proud. It has given us a degree of political freedom, far exceeding that of any other nation of the earth. In it the world has found a solution of the long mooted problem, as to the capability of man to govern himself. In it was the germ which has vegetated, and still is to grow and expand into the universal liberty of mankind." It is thus the Declaration — the "apple of gold" — that provided the Great Emancipator with the moral and intellectual sustenance he needed to "grow and expand ... the universal liberty of mankind" insofar as that growth and expansion meant the eradication of America's original sin. And the eradication of that original sin, following the bloody horror of the Civil War, tangibly took the eventual form of modifying the Constitution — the "frame of silver" — via the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. For Lincoln, none of this would have been possible had it not been for the "electric cord" of the Declaration — which "links ... patriotic hearts as long as the love of freedom exists in the minds of men throughout the world." 150th anniversary of the Declaration's ratification, in 1926: About the Declaration there is a finality that is exceedingly restful. It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning can not be applied to this great charter. If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers. It is a great paradox of modern "progressivism" — the likes of which is embodied by Salon's self-hating screed published today — that such insipid idiocy is, in the Coolidge formulation, not "progress" at all. It is "reactionary."

Colin Kaepernick shows his true colors by attacking the United States of America on July 4: Douglass’ speech, known as “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” was given in Rochester, New York on July 5, 1852. A decade later a massive civil war was being fought that ended with slaves being freed at the cost of hundreds of thousands of American lives. Kaeperick skipped that part. He is eternally bitter for his American born, multi million dollar earning privilege. amp.dailycaller.com/2019/07/04/betsy-ross-flag-san-francisco-city-hallA Betsy Ross flag was spotted flying as part of an 18-flag display outside San Francisco City Hall Thursday. Controversy over the Betsy Ross flag erupted Monday after Nike pulled a shoe featuring the American flag following a complaint from former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who alleged the flag was a symbol of racism. It doesn’t appear, however, Kaepernick has commented on the Betsy Ross flag that has been a part of the “Pavilion of American Flags” in San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza since 1964. The Betsy Ross flag flew outside San Francisco City Hall for the entirety of Kaepernick’s tenure with the San Fransisco 49ers from 2011 through 2016. The 18-flag display was the brainchild of businessman Stanley Bergman, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The flags were first raised with fanfare on Flag Day, June 14, 1964, with a military band and former San Francisco Mayor John Shelley in attendance, the Chronicle reported. A Confederate battle flag was a part of the display for several months in 1964, but it was ordered replaced after being cut down during a protest, according to the Chronicle. Nike’s decision to recall its Betsy Ross shoe was met with praise by Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom. (Gavin Newsom Says Nike Did ‘The Right Thing’ In Pulling Betsy Ross Flag Shoes) “Thank you for doing the right thing,” Newsom, a Democrat, wrote in a tweet Tuesday to Nike. “CA is open for business and welcomes those that represent the best of our American values.” Neither San Francisco Mayor London Breed or Nike immediately responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Umm, turning previously straight Iceman Bobby Drake gay, didn’t help as his comic,(& all the SJW comics Marvel shoved out in their “All New” rebrand). But, if you want to kill the franchise, go for it. www.dailywire.com/news/49178/tom-holland-spider-man-could-be-gay-paul-bois?ampTom Holland: 'Spider-Man' Could Be Gay "The world isn’t as simple as a straight white guy" by Paul Bois July 4, 2019 "Spider-Man: Far from Home" star Tom Holland has issued a call to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to include more LGBTQ heroes and perhaps even have the friendly neighborhood web-slinger come out gay himself in a future installment. Speaking with Britain’s Sunday Times, Holland said he would be open to his character being openly gay in the future www.thetimes.co.uk/article/tom-holland-interview-robert-downey-jr-avengers-billy-elliot-spider-man-v8963l3kx?wgu=270525_54264_15620633691442_0df4b3c34c&wgexpiry=1569839369&utm_source=planit&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_content=22278&wgu=270525_54264_15621805969014_d627b67eb5&wgexpiry=1569956596&utm_source=planit&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_content=22278"I can’t talk about the future of the character because honestly I don’t know and it’s out of my hands," Holland told the outlet. "But I do know a lot about the future of Marvel, and they are going to be representing lots of different people in the next few years. "The world isn’t as simple as a straight white guy," he continued. "It doesn’t end there, and these films need to represent more than one type of person." The Marvel universe has faced criticism recently for not including enough LGBTQ characters or superheroes, though producers Kevin Feige and Victoria Alonso have promised they will come to fruition. The latest "Avengers" installment, however, did break new ground with the inclusion of Grieving Man (played by co-director Joe Russo), who was seen at the very beginning telling Steve Rogers about a man he was dating. However, LGBTQ activists took the character as Marvel's cheap attempt at diversity. "As disappointing as [previous] missed opportunities for queer representation were, none of them stung anywhere nearly as much as the Grieving Man’s introduction inadvertently does, because his presence comes across like an inconsequential afterthought, and it doesn’t help matters that the Russos and Marvel appear to be quite pleased with the creative decision," wrote Charles Pullman at Gizmodo. Marvel producer Kevin Feige defended the decision to include Grieving Man as a reflection of reality while promising he will not be the last LGBTQ character to appear in the franchise. "That was never meant to be our first focused character," Feige said. "That was just meant to be a matter of fact and a matter of life and a matter of truth. And I liked it that our hero, Steve Rogers, doesn’t blink an eye at that fact. It is just truth and is heartbreaking for his loss and for the life he’s trying to put back together. It was never meant to be looked at as our first hero. I guess it’s the first reference so it does, of course, get a lot of attention." "We haven’t been shy about saying that that’s coming and that there’s much more prominent LGBT heroes in the future," Feige added. Despite not having more LGBTQ characters, the upcoming "Spider-Man: Far from Home" will be breaking barriers with the inclusion of openly trans actor Zach Barack, who told Variety in a recent interview that Marvel stories all have something inherently trans about them. "I’m not by any means an expert on comics, but I read them growing up, you know, and they were important. And there’s something very inherently trans about those stories, especially ones where identity and hidden identity is part of them," Barack told the outlet. "For example, Peter Parker’s journey [in Spider-Man: Homecoming] is a lot about balancing being a teenager and having this other part of your life."

Lyft : “America is an idea, not geography”. www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/07/04/lyft-celebrates-july-4th-declaring-america-idea-not-geography/amp/Ride-sharing corporation Lyft is celebrating the United States’ Independence Day by declaring that “America is an idea, not a geography.” For the 4th of July, Lyft teamed up with the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) — an open borders organization that is fighting President Trump’s crackdown on asylum — to plead with Americans to donate money to take “a stand for immigrant rights” and declared that America is not a home to Americans, but just “an idea.” Lyft executives wrote to customers: America is an idea, not just a geography. This Fourth of July, let’s celebrate the American values of inclusivity, freedom, and opportunity by embracing the many ways it means to be American. [Emphasis added] Every one of us has a hand in defining what it means to be American. At Lyft, we celebrate this. A large number of both Lyft drivers and riders identify as immigrants and/or first-generation Americans, and it’s your stories that inspire us to continue to take a stand. Immigration is vital to the fabric of our cities where we live and work. Yet, we know every day, immigrant rights — including the simple right to live your life and be treated equitably — are being challenged. [Emphasis added] This Independence Day, we’re asking our community of passengers and drivers to join us by taking a stand for immigration rights. [Emphasis added] Lyft is promising that for every dollar donated by a Lyft customer to RAICES and its open borders cause, the corporation will match the donation up to $50,000 for the month of July. The ride-sharing company will also be donating $150,000 in ride credits to support open borders organizations. As part of Lyft’s teaming up with RAICES, the corporation is also releasing a series of short documentaries, all labeled with the globalist mantra “America is an Idea, Not a Geography.” In one short clip, two social workers help provide transportation and services for adult border crossers and their children who were released into the U.S. by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As of June, more than 211,000 adult border crossers and illegal aliens have been released into the interior of the U.S. with the vast majority being dropped off by DHS officials in El Paso, Texas and San Antonio, Texas. The overwhelming majority of border crossers and illegal aliens are never deported from the country once they are released into the U.S. Today, there are anywhere between 11 million and 22 million illegal aliens living across the country — the majority of which are concentrated in states like California, New York, Florida, Texas, and Illinois.

www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/07/04/round-up-democrats-reveal-they-dislike-celebrating-america-after-all/The Democrat Party has been moving noticeably farther to the left, and President Trump’s pro-America policies and “Salute to America” celebration have driven many over the edge. There are countless examples of Hollywood figures, 2020 Democrats, media outlets, and businesses revealing their true colors. Here is a handy list of notable entities and figures that have effectively turned on celebrating America. Nike: www.breitbart.com/sports/2019/07/01/report-nike-ditches-betsy-ross-flag-sneaker-after-colin-kaepernick-raises-concerns-over-the-flags-connection-slavery/Just days before Independence Day, Nike decided to pull its America-themed sneakers, featuring the Betsy Ross flag. Details on the decision were scarce, but it was later discovered Nike was responding to “concerns” over the symbolism of the early flag. According to the Wall Street Journal, Colin Kaepernick reached out to Nike following its decision and said he – as well as others – viewed it as an “offensive” symbol, citing the broad era of slavery. As many pointed out on Twitter, the “controversial” flags served as a partial backdrop during former President Barack Obama’s second inauguration. Charlottesville, VA: The city of Charlottesville decided it would no longer recognize the birthday of Founding Father and author of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson. Instead, the city council voted to replace the April 13 celebration with Liberation and Freedom Day, which recognizes the emancipation black slaves. George Washington High School: Last month, George Washington High School announced plans to remove an “offensive” mural of the nation’s first president, with one speaker calling it a “visual offense.” “Many critics of the mural have condemned its depictions of slaves and Native Americans. Now, the school is on the verge of removing the mural altogether,” Breitbart News reported. The New York Times: New York Times Opinion tweeted out a controversial video two days before Independence Day, which made an argument against America’s greatness and status as a Shining City on a Hill. It called U.S. greatness a myth and hit a number of common left-wing talking points, dropping sarcastic lines like, “But we have freedom in America, and everyone’s jealous, or something” and ” The truth is, how great America is really depends on how rich you are.” Beto O’Rourke: The presidential candidate weighed in on the Nike controversy and noted he supported the company’s decision. Interesting, though, is the way O’Rourke phrased the controversy. Emphasis added: “I think its really important to take into account the impression that kind of symbol would have for many of our fellow Americans, respect the decision Nike made and grateful for the conversation,” O’Rourke told reporters. It remains unclear why O’Rourke referred to the early American flag as “that kind of symbol.” Harvard University professor Lawrence Tribe: The Harvard University professor remarked on two tanks on the Mall – there for preparation ahead of the “Salute to America” celebration – observing what he considered a “resemblance to days before Tiananmen Square.” College professors: Many college professors, in addition to Lawrence Tribe, have taken to social media to express outrage over the “Salute to America” celebration. Here is a brief sampling: Marianne Williamson: The lesser-known Democrat presidential contender called the “Salute to America” event – celebrating American greatness and America’s military – “heartbreaking” and “repugnant,” just one day before July 4. “Watching army tanks being hauled thru DC for Trump’s July 4 celebration is heartbreaking & repugnant,” she said before peddling her alternative live stream. Pete Buttigieg: The South Bend mayor appeared on CNN’s The Lead Wednesday and asserted that the big Fourth of July celebration in the nation’s capital “makes America look smaller.” He also accused the Trump administration of using the military as a prop. “…the people who got our country started in the Revolution were skeptical of a presidency getting too much to look like a sort of imperial or royal office, and I’m afraid that’s the direction this president’s taking it in,” he added. Rob Reiner: The left-wing filmmaker went on a tangent Wednesday, essentially calling President Trump a sociopath for desiring to celebrate and honor the U.S. “In the face of a humanitarian crisis, that this malignant narcissist would steal taxpayer dollars to stage a partisan display of Autocracy to massage his damaged psyche is nothing short of sociopathic,” he tweeted. Flag burners: Gregory Lee Johnson, who was, as USA Today points out, “the man at the center of the 1984 U.S. Supreme Court case that protected the burning of the U.S. flag as constitutionally protected free speech” plans to burn the American flag in D.C. on Independence Day as a form of protest. “I am going to D.C. on the Fourth of July and I’m going to burn the flag in protest (of his) whole fascist agenda,” Johnson reportedly told USA Today. #BoycottTrump4thOfJuly: The hashtag trended Wednesday, but it appeared to be about more than the president himself. Left-wing social media users seemingly used the hashtag to list their range of grievances against the United States. “There is nothing to celebrate about a country where one minority privileged class enslaves and terrorizes the masses,” one user lamented. “Nothing to celebrate about the extreme lack of class mobility, opportunity or basic freedoms in this country.” “It’s the 4th of July but I’m not very proud to be an American today. Well, I haven’t been since election night actually,” another wrote. “I am hoping for a monsoon with a tuch [sic] of lightning and high with gusts tomorrow,” another user tweeted, ahead of the “Salute to America” celebration. Despite the critiques, the president remains excited to celebrate the greatness of America alongside fellow American patriots across the country.
