www.breitbart.com/health/2020/05/06/cdc-data-average-age-of-those-who-have-died-from-covid-19-in-u-s-75/CDC Data: Average Age of Those Who Have Died from COVID-19 in U.S. 75 The average age of Americans who died from COVID-19 between February 1 and May 2 is 75, according to an analysis of a provisional data set published by the Centers for Disease Control’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) on Wednesday. The data set published by NCHS, Provisional COVID-19 Death Counts by Sex, Age, and State, include key demographic information for the 44,016 COVID-19 deaths for which information has been “received and coded” as of May 6, the date of publication. The NCHS notes that “Data during this period are incomplete because of the lag in time between when the death occurred and when the death certificate is completed, submitted to NCHS and processed for reporting purposes. This delay can range from 1 week to 8 weeks or more.” According to Worldometer, 74,190 COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the United States as of Wednesday, so information on at least 30,000 of these deaths has not yet been received and coded by NCHS. All 50 states provide more current COVID-19 data on websites maintained by their respective departments of health. While most of these state websites provide relatively current data on the number of tests taken, number of positive tests, and total deaths, data on mortality by age or age group is not reported publicly on a consistent basis at those state department of health websites. Some states, such as Massachussetts, provide specific data on average age of those who died from COVID-19, while other states, such as Florida, provide age data for cases but not deaths. The average age among the 4,420 people who have died of COVID-19 in Massachsetts is 82, according to page 11 of this report published by the Massachusetts Department of Health on Wednesday. Boston talk radio king Howie Carr commented on that fact, which was also included in a report published on Monday by the Massachussets Department of Health, Tuesday in this tweet: This is why you have to wear a mask outside tomorrow. Do you really think you’re in danger? pic.twitter.com/B0lmDKUdJN — Howie Carr (@howiecarrshow) May 5, 2020 Publicly available data from states that provide information on the age of death confirms that the elderly are the most at-risk age group for COVID-19. In Tennessee, where the average age of the 13,794 people who have tested positive for COVID-19 is 43, according to The Tennessee Department of Health, the average age of the 239 people who have died of COVID-19 is 72. (This latter calculation is based on data for morbidity in ten year age groups provided by the Tennessee Department of Health). In New York, the average age of the 19,611 people who have died from COVID-19 is 73, according to calculations based on age group COVID-19 fatality data provided by the New York State Department of Health. In Minnesota, age data for COVID-19 deaths is not provided, but the MN Department of Health website states that 391 out of the 485 COVID-19 deaths in the state were residents of long term care facilities. California does not provide age data for COVID-19 deaths on its publicly available website, nor does Michigan. In Alabama, 78 percent of the 340 COVID-19 deaths were of people over the age of 65. A note on methodology in calculating the average age of COVID-19 death from the NCHS data set published on May 6 The chart below shows the methodology used to calculate the average of COVID-19 death, based on the NCHS data set published on May 6: Methodology for Determining Average Age of COVID-19 Death NCHS Data NCHS Data Assumed Total Age Group Deaths Ave. Age Life Years under 1 4 0.5 2 1 to 4 2 2.5 5 5 to 14 4 9.5 38 15 to 24 48 19.5 936 25 to 34 317 29.5 9,352 35 to 44 796 39.5 31,442 45 to 54 2,262 49.5 111,969 55 to 64 5,422 59.5 322,609 65 to 74 9,359 69.5 650,451 75 to 84 12,026 79.5 956,067 85 + 13,776 90 1,239,840 Total 44,016 3,322,710 Average Age 75.5

McCarthy made the comments during a press briefing, saying, “If you go two blocks away, you can get a tea or a latte but the Democrats on this side of the House will not let us legislate.” (RELATED: Kevin McCarthy Announces His Plan To Reopen Congress — ‘House Needs To Work’) House Speaker Nancy Pelosi gave her own press briefing Thursday as well, addressing Congress’ next steps with regard to additional coronavirus relief packages. She touted her plan for the next bill to include more resources for testing, more aid for state and local authorities and more direct payments to the American people. She stressed the importance of getting those measures approved quickly and in a bipartisan fashion, but made no move to defend her decision to delay the House’s return to session. WATCH:

www.dailywire.com/news/god-bless-america-colorado-restaurant-opens-in-defiance-of-stay-at-home-order‘God Bless America’: Colorado Restaurant Opens In Defiance Of State Order On Tuesday, Colorado restaurant owner Karen Starr announced that she would be opening her restaurant for in-dining room customers beginning on Wednesday. Click to find out more about a new promotion Don't miss this content from our sponsor In a Facebook post, Starr wrote in part: Karen’s Kafe And Stephanie’s Bar and Grill with Western Omelette 3 in Calhan CO have decided to respect your Constitutional Rights and Protections! As of 6 May 2020, you will once again have the Right to Choose dine in. We Will be operating at 50% or less capacity to continue to maintain social distancing. We will continue to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness. We will continue to offer curbside pickup, regular takeout and delivery. “God Bless America,” Starr signed off. Western Omelette 3 is a separate restaurant in Calhan, Colorado, which is also open as of Wednesday. Speaking with KKTV, a Colorado CBS affiliate, Starr said that opening her restaurant isn’t about “going against the governor,” but about the “constitutional right to assemble.” Despite reportedly being notified by El Paso County Public Health that she is in violation of the state’s COVID-19 order, Starr remains defiant, telling KKTV that if she “went to jail, it’d be worth it.” In an update to the original report, the outlet wrote that “the El Paso County Health Department has confirmed with [KKTV] that they are moving forward with a cease and desist order against Karen’s Kafe and Stephanie’s Bar and Grill.” The positive reaction emojis largely outweigh the negative reactions on the restaurant’s Facebook post, though a battle rages in the comments section. One user wrote: “I may just need to make a trip out to Calhan. Glad to see you standing up against these politicians and their idiotic scare tactics!! Hopefully they leave you alone and allow you the choice to survive rather than lose everything you’ve worked for as a small business owner.” Another user wrote: “Good job!! I think I might have to make a trip out to Calhan to support you!! Hopefully they leave you alone! #America.” Others were not so enthusiastic. In response to a positive comment, one user wrote: “I hope you all wear masks and do not get ill with this virus! It is not another ‘flu.’ It is far more insidious and dangerous. Just do not come near me without a mask!” Another user replied to a comment about “freedom,” writing: “Freedom means not risking others lives just for fresh eggs and bacon.” The Daily Wire reached out to Karen Starr, as well as the owner of Western Omelette 3, and the El Paso County Health Department for comment, but we have not received any replies as of publication. Karen’s Kafe And Stephanie’s Bar and Grill isn’t the first restaurant to reopen in spite of state mandates. On April 24, a Federal American Grill location in Houston, Texas, opened for business. As The Daily Wire previously reported: The restaurant is operating at only 30% seating capacity, according to the owner, and staff are required to wear face masks and gloves, as well as have their temperature checked prior to working. Additionally, customers are afforded the opportunity to pay with Venmo and PayPal, reports the news outlet. Owner Matt Brice told the Houston Chronicle: “What I don’t like is that the government is picking and choosing which businesses win or lose. They are sinking the economy … We have to stand our ground and get people back to work.” The Katy Freeway location of Federal American Grill is still open for dine-in service.

thefederalist.com/2020/05/07/bill-de-blasios-plan-to-defer-rent-for-a-year-is-insane/Bill De Blasio’s Plan To Defer Rent For A Year Is Insane De Blasio's ridiculous rent deferment plan offers no real help to New Yorkers being crushed by the shutdown. MAY 7, 2020 By David Marcus New York City mayor Bill de Blasio slipped on his bad idea jeans again on Thursday in a tweet saying that all New Yorkers who need it should have their rent deferred for 12 months. It is an idea he floated in mid-April, but his nemesis Gov. Andrew Cuomo swatted it down and everyone kind of hoped de Blasio would forget about it. Apparently he hasn’t. There are so many reasons why this is an insane idea that it’s hard to know where to start. But how about with this question, what happens in 12 months when a year’s rent comes due at once? The average New Yorker would be looking a final bill of well over $20,000, what are they supposed to do? Get some scratch off tickets and hope for the best? It is exceedingly likely that many, if not most of those who choose deferment would not be able to pay it all back at once in addition to new rent charges. So how will this work? Will we see mass evictions as the “beneficiaries” of this program run out of time? Will a city that is already billions in debt find some way to bail them out? How? But of course it’s not just the renters who suffer under this ludicrous plan of action. Landlords, many of whom have mortgages, will have no revenue to pay those mortgages, or maintain upkeep on the property. Will banks forgo foreclosures waiting for landlords to recoup the lost rent from tenants who probably can’t pay it? This is an upside down Ponzi scheme crafted by a desperate mayor who has faltered badly in recent months. The problem is real. The longer the city stays shut down, the more people and families will fall behind in their rent. In New York the situation is especially acute as rent is expected to be a much higher percentage of overall income than in most areas of the country. This is the economic crisis that we have spent two months saying it is offensive to even discuss in the face of a global pandemic. Well, offensive or not, it’s here, and fantasyland freebies that the government can’t pay for won’t fix it. The only plausible step that can be taken to limit the number of renters who go completely underwater is to reopen the economy and allow people to earn a paycheck again. This is hard for de Blasio to understand because in his world there is a giant pot of gold guarded by some evil Republican leprechaun that can just pay for everyone’s lives. As Homer Simpson once noted, “communism works in theory,” but this ain’t philosophy class and de Blasio can’t back up his talk. Over the past two months the economic side of this crisis has been painful, but not yet crippling in the ways it promises to become should the shut down continue. Savings are dwindling, relatives to borrow from becoming scarcer, but the bills keep coming and the mayor cannot magically wish them away. New York City needs a serious plan for recovery and it needs it fast. A summer without significant reopening will crush many of Gotham’s denizens. Thus far, Mayor de Blasio has given his constituents no reason to believe he has the capacity or will to bring the city back to life. This laughable latest effort isn’t even really an effort; it just kicks the economic can of doom down the road a few months. The mayor needs to talk less about the New Deal style socialist society he hopes emerges from the crisis and more about how people are supposed to pay their rent, whether now or in 12 months. This is real life for millions of New Yorkers and we need a mayor who takes it seriously.

www.nationalreview.com/2020/05/samaritans-purse-excluded-from-nyc-for-the-sake-of-inclusion/Samaritan’s Purse, Excluded from NYC for the Sake of ‘Inclusion’ By JOHN HIRSCHAUER May 6, 2020 4:34 PM Lessons learned: ‘Diversity’ matters more than life itself, and liberalism requires intolerance. In 2012, a Pakistani woman named Walaiha Arafat was accused of desecrating the Koran. Court documents claim that Arafat was found sleeping atop pages of the Islamic scripture, prompting her arrest on blasphemy charges. Arafat was detained for almost 42 months in Central Jail Lahore, a detention facility in the province of Punjab, before being released on bail in what amounted to a rare display of leniency from the nation’s supreme court. TOP ARTICLES 1/5 READ MORE Why They’ll Never Remake Network New York treats its blasphemers better than Pakistan does, but neither society seems eager to tolerate those who offend its most basic religious convictions. Since the coronavirus pandemic began, the volunteers for Samaritan’s Purse, an Evangelical relief organization run by the televangelist Franklin Graham, have been the most notable heretics in New York City. After weeks of protest from the city’s diversity clerics, the volunteers are at last collapsing the group’s field hospital, disinfecting its tents, and leaving New York City in apparent disgrace. In two weeks, the volunteers will return home, shunned by the city whose sick they treated free of charge without regard to race, religion, or sexual preference. The city officials who usher them out offer the group nothing but scorn: A statement released by New York City council speaker Corey Johnson instructed Samaritan’s Purse to leave Central Park, calling the group’s presence in the city “an affront to our values of inclusion.” New York is an inclusive city, he says: Get the hell out. The demonstrations outside the Samaritan’s Purse COVID-19 field hospital have been covered, perhaps too closely. Many of the protesters were clearly disturbed. Their anger at an innocuous group of religious volunteers provided a window into some of the excesses of LGBT politics and the desperation for enemies in a moment in history when enemies are scarce. But the protesters were a small, if vocal, group without much pull. The way in which the presence of Samaritan’s Purse has exercised the organs of government, however — the city council, the mayor’s office, and even the federal government — is another issue entirely. As the volunteers prepare to depart, it is worth pondering what this entire debacle says about the state of religion and culture in New York City. NOW WATCH: 'Mitch McConnell Would Prefer States to Declare Bankrupcty Rather Than Get Federal Bailouts' WATCH: 0:46 Mitch McConnell Would Prefer States to Declare Bankrupcty Rather Than Get Federal Bailouts It is now clear — if it wasn’t before — that the leaders of our cultural revolution are not interested in coexisting with their perceived enemies. So appalled were the city’s leaders by the mere presence of volunteers with traditionalist views on marriage and sexuality that they refused their help in the middle of a lethal pandemic. Johnson conceded that the “battle against COVID-19 is still ongoing,” and the city “still needs support” in defeating the virus. Even with lives on the line, Johnson resolved that “a city that values diversity and compassion for all” could not, in effect, defile itself by coexisting with the ideologically unclean. Metaphors abound, but practically speaking, what message are Johnson and New York’s elected officials sending to the observant Jews, Christians, and — yes — Muslims in the city who hold beliefs identical to those espoused by Samaritan’s Purse? One marvels at the abuse of language by protesters and elected officials. State senator Brad Hoylman, for instance, claimed that the city’s mere “association with Franklin Graham and Samaritan’s Purse” inflicted “reputational harm with LGBTQ New Yorkers and the wider public.” The suggestion that Samaritan’s Purse — an organization that brought volunteers to the front lines of a collapsing hospital system at no charge to the city — was somehow inflicting harm on New York was remarkable. The “harm,” here, was forcing LGBTQ New Yorkers to endure the thought that somewhere in the city of New York, someone might have had an opinion about their sex lives. In this telling, the charity’s offense was requiring its volunteers to affirm the Samaritan’s Purse statement of faith, which contained blasphemous views on LGBT issues. New York City effectively banished Samaritan’s Purse for failing to adhere to its own de fide commitments. 72 Most striking was Johnson’s decision to defend “inclusion” and “diversity” by excluding those with unfashionable views from the city. This Orwellian sense of “inclusion” recalls Herbert Marcuse’s essay on “repressive tolerance” — a defense of a “liberating tolerance” that requires “intolerance against movements from the Right and toleration of movements from the Left” to facilitate “progress in civilization” (my emphasis). G. K. Chesterton said that the “thought that stops thought” was “the only thought that ought to be stopped.” German political theorists from Karl Loewenstein onward have spoken of streitbare Demokratie: militant democracy, the notion that the liberal (or “inclusive”) order requires taking illiberal (or “exclusive”) action against those who would subvert it. Would-be excluders must themselves be excluded for inclusion’s sake. In a 1968 postscript to “Repressive Tolerance,” Marcuse wrote, There are issues where either there is no “other side” in any more than a formalistic sense, or where “the other side” is demonstrably “regressive” and impedes possible improvement of the human condition. To tolerate propaganda for inhumanity vitiates the goals not only of liberalism but of every progressive political philosophy. The ill-treatment of Samaritan’s Purse and its selfless volunteers demonstrates that officials in New York no longer view the “other side” of the marriage and sexuality debates as anything but obstacles to the “inclusive” society — a goal apparently more precious even than the lives of New York City’s COVID patients.

Click to find out more about a new promotion Don't miss this content from our sponsor Cuomo stated, “We’re not in a position to provide any subsidies right now because we have a $13 billion deficit. So there’s a lot of good things I’d like to do, and if we get federal funding, we can do, but it would be irresponsible for me to sit here looking at a $13 billion deficit and say I’m gonna spend more money, when I can’t even pay the essential services,” PIX11 News reported. Cuomo said the state simply couldn’t afford subsidizing state income tax for the workers who came to New York, saying, “If we don’t get more money from Washington, we can’t fund schools, right, so at the rate we want to fund them. We are in dire financial need.” PIX11News reported, “Even though the state government asked thousands of people to come to New York from out of state to help fight coronavirus, they will have to pay New York state taxes, even on income they might make from their home states that they’re paid while in New York.” Ken Isaacs, a vice president of Samaritan’s Purse, the Christian organization that built a temporary hospital in Central Park, said, “Our financial comptroller called me and he said, ‘Do you know that all of you are going to be liable for New York state income tax?’ I said, ‘What?’” Isaacs said the comptroller pointed out, “Yeah, there’s a law. If you work in New York State for more than 14 days, you have to pay state income tax.” Isaacs told PIX11 News, “I didn’t know that … What we’re even more concerned about than the money is the bureaucracy, and the paperwork, and I think that once that’s unleashed…once you start filing that, you have to do that for like a whole year or something.” Lawrence Spielman, a partner at the accounting firm Spielman, Koenigsberg & Parker, LLP, has noted that entities from “these other states will have to register in New York and do withholding here in New York.” PIX11 News noted, “Any out-of-state resident who’s come to the Empire State to work on coronavirus relief is subject to the tax after 14 days here.” Roughly two weeks ago, at a briefing to give an update on the response of his state government to the coronavirus crisis, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo stated that economic hardship was “not death.” He also snapped at a reporter who asked if there was a fundamental right to work if the government couldn’t get a person the money when they needed it, “By the way, you want to go to work? Go take a job as an essential worker. Do it tomorrow.” During that same briefing, Cuomo stated, “You have a responsibility to me. It’s not just about you. You have a responsibility to me, right? We started here saying, it’s not about ‘me’; it’s about ‘we.’ Get your head around the ‘we’ concept. So it’s not all about you; it’s about me, too. It’s about ‘we.’”

By Benedict Carey and James Glanz May 7, 2020 Updated 3:23 p.m. ET 1240 New York City’s coronavirus outbreak grew so large by early March that the city became the primary source of new infections in the United States, new research reveals, as thousands of infected people traveled from the city and seeded outbreaks around the country. The research indicates that a wave of infections swept from New York City through much of the country before the city began setting social distancing limits to stop the growth. That helped to fuel outbreaks in Louisiana, Texas, Arizona and as far away as the West Coast. The findings are drawn from geneticists’ tracking signature mutations of the virus, travel histories of infected people and models of the outbreak by infectious disease experts. Percentages may not add up to 100 because additional genetic lines are omitted.Source: NextstrainBy Derek Watkins The central role of New York’s outbreak shows that decisions made by state and federal officials — including waiting to impose distancing measures and to limit international flights — helped shape the trajectory of the outbreak and allowed it to grow in the rest of the country. Thanks for reading The Times. Subscribe to The Times The city joins other densely populated urban hot spots around the world, starting with Wuhan, China, and then Milan, that have become vectors for the virus’s spread. Travel from other American cities also sparked infections across the country, including from an early outbreak centered in the Seattle area that seeded infections in more than a dozen states, researchers say. Even if New York had managed to slow the virus, it probably would have continued to spread from elsewhere, they say. But the Seattle outbreak proved to be a squall before the larger storm gathering in New York, where, at the end of February, thousands of infected people packed trains and restaurants, thronged tourist attractions and passed through its three major airports. ADVERTISEMENT Continue reading the main story During crucial weeks in March, New York’s political leaders waited to take aggressive action, even after identifying hundreds of cases, giving the virus a head start. And by mid-March, when President Trump restricted travel from Europe, the restrictions were essentially pointless, the data suggest, as the disease was already spreading widely within the country. Latest Updates: Coronavirus Outbreak in the U.S. Trump’s travel restrictions led to an exodus from hot spots — and little rigorous screening in U.S. airports. A drug promoted by Trump neither helped nor harmed patients, researchers found. A battle has erupted between the White House and the C.D.C. over reopening guidelines. See more updates Updated 4m ago More live coverage: Global Markets New York Acting earlier would most likely have blunted the virus’s march across the country, researchers say. “It means that we missed the boat early on, and the vast majority in this country is coming from domestic spread,” said Kristian Andersen, a professor in the department of immunology and microbiology at Scripps Research. “I keep hearing that it’s somebody else’s fault. That’s not true. It’s not somebody else’s fault, it’s our own fault.” A lack of testing obscured the true extent of the outbreak for months, and officials acted on incomplete and sometimes conflicting information. The enormous growth of New York’s outbreak partly reflects its volume of international visitors, especially from Europe, where most of its infections came from. Hidden Outbreaks Spread Through U.S. Cities Far Earlier Than Americans Knew, Estimates Say New York, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago and Seattle had undetected outbreaks long before testing showed a major problem, according to a model. April 23, 2020 Dani Lever, communications director for Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, criticized federal authorities, describing an “enormous failure by the federal government to leave New York and the East Coast exposed to flights from Europe, while at the same time instilling a false sense of security by telling the State of New York that we had no Covid cases throughout the entire month of February.” A White House spokesman, Judd Deere, said that Mr. Trump had acted quickly. The president blocked most visitors from Europe starting on March 13, more than a month after he restricted travel from China. ADVERTISEMENT Continue reading the main story “Just as he acted early on to cut off travel from the source of the virus, President Trump was advised by his health and infectious disease experts that he should cut off travel from Europe — an action he took decisively without delay to save lives while Democrats and the media criticized him and the global health community still did not fully comprehend the level of transmission or spread,” Mr. Deere said. The travel that helped spread the virus includes New York residents who left the city and non-New Yorkers who visited or passed through the city. Now that infections are dispersed around the country, travel from New York is no longer a main factor shaping the progression of the epidemic, researchers said. As states around the nation begin to relax their restrictions, the findings demonstrate that it is difficult, if not impossible, to prevent those actions from affecting the rest of the nation. ImageResearch showed that by March 1, when the first coronavirus case was confirmed in New York, the city probably had over 10,000 undetected infections. Over all, Dr. Grubaugh estimated, infections spreading from New York account for 60 to 65 percent of the sequenced viruses across the country. ADVERTISEMENT Continue reading the main story Other scientists said that they would like to see more samples before calculating precise figures. But they agreed that New York’s prominence in seeding the national spread appears to have begun in early March, two weeks before stay-at-home orders were put in place. “New York acted as the Grand Central Station for this virus, with the opportunity to move from there in so many directions, to so many places,” said David Engelthaler, head of the infectious disease branch of the Translational Genomics Research Institute in Arizona. The most commonly detected viruses tied to New York have a distinct genetic signature linking them to outbreaks in Europe. Those spreading from Washington State have a signature linking them directly to China. Benjamin M. Branham, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which controls the airports, said that before the flight restrictions from Europe, the federal government’s Customs and Border Protection “only screened passengers from China,” not from Europe. How the Virus Got Out We analyzed the movements of hundreds of millions of people to show why the most extensive travel restrictions to stop an outbreak in human history haven’t been enough. March 22, 2020 At this stage, scientists say, genetic fingerprints alone are not sufficient for pinpointing the source of the viruses. But travel patterns and case histories of early known cases support the idea, they said. “It is a combination, still, of what genomic epidemiology and shoe-leather epidemiology is going to tell us,” Dr. Engelthaler said. ADVERTISEMENT Continue reading the main story Scientists modeling the progression of the disease nationally said the prominence of New York as a national hub was broadly consistent with their findings, although the picture was still emerging. “I would say this is not surprising in a sense,” said Alessandro Vespignani, director of the Network Science Institute at Northeastern University in Boston. “The picture emerging is consistent with numerical models.” Earlier research by Dr. Vespignani showed just how rapidly, and invisibly, the outbreak exploded in New York. By March 1, when the first coronavirus case was confirmed in New York, the city probably had over 10,000 undetected infections, his research group showed. Hidden Outbreaks Spread Through U.S. Cities Far Earlier Than Americans Knew, Estimates Say New York, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago and Seattle had undetected outbreaks long before testing showed a major problem, according to a model. April 23, 2020 New York and Washington State are not the only sources of the outbreak. Other large domestic hubs contributed to the spread, scientists believe, and a more diverse genetic mix is still seen in some places around the country, particularly in the Midwest and parts of the South. Even as domestic travel began to drive the outbreak, some infections were still seeded around the country by international travelers, geneticists said. It is possible, experts said, that some of the virus samples attributed to New York may have instead been seeded in other cities by direct flights from Europe, or from travelers laying over in New York before traveling elsewhere. For that reason, some scientists said they would like to see more samples before linking the majority of infections in the United States to New York. ADVERTISEMENT Continue reading the main story “I think that’s probably the story line that’s going to emerge, but I’d like to see more data,” said Harm van Bakel, a geneticist at Mount Sinai in New York. A New York Times analysis of travel data supports the idea that the chains of infection originated in New York, experts said. The number of cases across the country was closely related to how many travelers each place received from New York in early March, based on anonymized cellphone tracking data from Cuebiq, a data intelligence company. “It looks like most of the domestic spread is basically people traveling out from New York,” said Dr. Kari Stefansson, founder and chief executive of deCODE Genetics, a leading genome analysis firm based in Reykjavik, Iceland. Last week, Dr. Andersen of Scripps Research and other scientists analyzing the outbreak in New Orleans reported that all of the samples taken from New Orleans were from the line linked back to New York. The virus swept through the area in March and has killed more than 1,000 people. “You can figure out, with travel patterns, that the most likely thing to have happened is those came into New Orleans directly from New York,” Dr. Grubaugh said.

www.dailywire.com/news/cbs-slammed-for-segment-harassing-ice-cream-truck-driver-during-stay-at-home-order-encouraging-folks-to-call-9-1-1CBS Slammed For Segment Harassing Ice Cream Truck Driver During Stay-At-Home Order, Encouraging Folks To Call 9-1-1 On Thursday night, CBS Chicago ran a full segment on a local ice cream truck driver for, first and foremost, violating “COVID-19 protocol,” as well as apparently “breaking the law” for being in a part of town that bars ice cream trucks — a fact they “learned” after one of their reporters harassed the worker on a bike. The segment included a video of CBS Chicago assignment editor and journalist Greg Kelly scolding “Mr. Freeze” for selling ice cream despite the stay-at-home order, and closed with encouragement for viewers to called 9-1-1 if they see “that ice cream man.” No gloves? No Mask? No problem,” CBS Chicago anchor Brad Edwards captioned the segment via Twitter. “This ice cream man is not only ignoring COVID-19 protocol, but he’s breaking the law. Such trucks are forbidden [in] Hoffman Estates.” “The Village Manager says if you see him, call 9-1-1,” Edwards added. “Here’s Mr. Freeze, (not his name), unmasked, ungloved, taking cash for cones,” Edwards says as the camera zooms in on the ice cream truck driver’s face. At the time, the CBS chyron reads, “Ice Cream Truck Drive Not Practicing Social Distancing In Hoffman Estates.” That’s when CBS assignment editor Greg Kelly said, wait a minute,” Edwards continues. Kelly is next shown tracking down the worker on his bike and scolding him for selling cones with a permit he got “before the stay-at-home order!” “Why are you trying to take ice cream out of the hands of children?” the worker pushed back against the CBS reporter, adding, “Are you sick? … I’m not sick either, so why are they quarantining healthy people?” The ice cream truck driver told Kelly he had a permit and suggested the assignment editor leave him alone. In a shaky voice, Kelly responds, “Right, you got the permit before the stay at home order!” He drove off after the questioning of our assignment, desk editor, dad, biker, and journalist Greg Kelly,” said Edwards, “but this all happened at Hoffman Estates, and tonight we’ve learned ice cream trucks there are banned, have been for years.” Edwards was ripped apart for the segment online. “He’s trying to make an honest living. Call 911? What the hell is wrong with you?” posted foreign policy journalist Jordan Schachtel. Calling 911 on the ice cream man? Just when you think journalism can’t sink any lower. But when you are a ratings-challenged station I guess anything goes,” commented meteorologist Kevin Williams. What would we do without heroes like [Greg Kelly],” snarked Nick Pappas. Another Twitter user sarcastically posted, “You are a true hero, Brad. I picture you with a mask and a cape capturing all those evil healthy businessmen trying to keep their living. I am so glad that we have you to keep them accountable and not only that but to spread the word on social media like every true hero does!” After the slew of backlash, Edwards defended the segment, reiterating that ice cream trucks are not allowed in the area. Though, of course, Kelly engaged with the ice cream truck driver before knowing that.

www.bakercityherald.com/coronavirus/churches-individuals-file-suit-in-baker-county-circuit-court-against-gov-kate-brown-seeking-injunction/article_e897029c-9096-11ea-94f9-e7598433532f.htmlA group of Oregon churches and individuals, including as lead plaintiff the Elkhorn Baptist Church in Baker City, is suing Gov. Kate Brown claiming her executive orders imposing restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic are unconstitutional. The plaintiffs filed the suit in Baker County Circuit Court on Wednesday. They are represented by attorney Ray D. Hacke of the Pacific Justice Institute in Salem. Hacke said the Institute is a nonprofit law firm that defends religious liberty. It opened its Salem office about 2 years ago. The plaintiffs are asking for a preliminary injunction prohibiting the governor from enforcing the executive orders. Hacke said Thursday afternoon that he also filed a motion seeking a temporary restraining order that would prevent the governor from imposing terms of the executive order, including the prohibition on gatherings of people if participants can’t maintain social distancing. Although religious freedom is an aspect of the lawsuit, Hacke said the chief legal issue is the governor’s authority under the Oregon Constitution. In the lawsuit he cites the section of the Constitution — Article X-A — that authorizes the governor to declare a state of emergency due to a public health crisis. Hacke said the plaintiffs don’t dispute that Brown has such authority due to the pandemic. The governor declared the state of emergency on March 8. But Hacke points to a section in Article X-A which states that the governor’s emergency powers can extend for no more than 30 days unless the Legislature, on at least a three-fifths vote of both the House and the Senate, agrees to extend the governor’s emergency powers.

www.dailywire.com/news/kevin-mccarthy-announces-china-task-force-to-take-on-china-democrats-refuse-to-joinKevin McCarthy Announces ‘China Task Force’ To Take On China. Democrats Refuse To Join. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced on Thursday that Republican members of Congress had created a “China Task Force” to address a wide variety of issues and that the Democrat Party refused to join. “Today I am announcing the formation of the China Task Force,” McCarthy wrote in a post. “Whether it is due to the tangle of politics or a stagnating lack of will, our country has neglected the warnings, signs, and even direct threats from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for far too long.” The announcement comes as the world has been devastated by the coronavirus pandemic that originated in Wuhan, China, which spread in part due to China’s attempts to cover it up in the early days and China’s decision to stop domestic travel while allowing international flights to leave Wuhan for other countries. China’s lies about the severity of the coronavirus and the outbreak left the world ill prepared to know what was coming. McCarthy highlighted some of China’s actions during the pandemic: Hid the severity of the virus and manipulated statistics, leaving the world reeling from a global pandemic Still refuses to allow international experts to investigate or share viral samples with the scientific community Forced the disappearance of whistleblowers Is carrying out a comprehensive propaganda campaign to spread misinformation Leveraged its supply chain monopoly for global influence McCarthy said that the purpose of the task force was to counter “the full stack of Chinese threats” that the United States faces. McCarthy said that the task force will focus on the following: Influence operations targeting U.S. and foreign governments and civil society, including think tanks, higher education, business, and media outlets. Export control regimes and foreign investment screening mechanisms in the United States, and efforts to coordinate and harmonize these regimes with partners. Chinese economic coercion of governments and businesses in the United States and partner countries, including through the monopolization of critical supply chains. China’s role in the origin and spread of COVID-19. China’s use of U.S. institutions to educate and train its citizens who then use their training to damage the national security of the United States.\ Chinese efforts to gain the technological advantage (in areas including 5G, AI, quantum computing, and other emerging technologies that may or may not have military applications). Chinese efforts to attain leadership positions and change norms at international organizations and standard-setting bodies. McCarthy announced that the task force will have a comprehensive report ready by October 30, 2020 that will make recommendations for how the United States needs to confront the threats from China. Democrats were set to join the task force, but on February 24, the day before the launch and as the coronavirus was spreading around the world, the Democrats “bailed on the project,” according to The Washington Post. “Since Democrats delayed participating in a bipartisan group meant to address pressing national security issues, Republicans are stepping up to execute on our original plan,” McCarthy concluded. “That said, this is not a partisan issue and we invite our Democrat colleagues to join us.” House Foreign Affairs Ranking Member Michael McCaul will lead the effort and the task force will include the following Republican Representatives: Liz Cheney Darin LaHood Guy Reschenthaler Elise Stefanik Andy Barr Adam Kinzinger Michael Waltz Anthony Gonzalez Mike Gallagher Denver Riggleman John Curtis John Joyce Jim Banks Chris Stewart

And, for the third time now, CBS gets busted again...... www.breitbart.com/the-media/2020/05/07/nolte-cbs-news-broadcasting-fake-coronavirus-footage-third-time/Nolte: CBS News Caught Broadcasting Fake Coronavirus Footage for 3rd Time For the third time in as many months, far-left CBS News has been caught broadcasting fake coronavirus footage to manufacture a crisis narrative. In March, the fake news outlet was caught using film footage from an overwhelmed hospital in Northern Italy in a report about New York City hospitals. After CBS was busted for this, the network apologized and said it would never do it again. The following month, CBS did it again — used the exact same Italian footage as a stand-in for New York. This month, CBS has been caught broadcasting staged footage involving coronavirus testing at Cherry Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The segment aired on Friday, May 1, on CBS This Morning and featured a video of a long line of cars waiting to get a coronavirus test. The agenda, obviously, was to attack President Donald Trump for having failed to provide adequate testing facilities. According to a whistleblower, who spoke with James O’Keefe of Project Veritas, the long line was staged. Only one or two of the cars in the line featured actual patients. The other cars were employees from the medical facility who pulled into the line to make it look longer. “So, the people in the cars are not patients?” O’Keefe asks the whistleblower. “Majority of them,” the disguised whistleblower said. “I do know, from talking with the testers that one, one of them, one or two of them were real patients, which added to their frustration because this line sat there for a while so they could organize the shot.” BREAKING: Insider Reveals @cherryhealthmi & @cbsnews Staged FAKE #COVID19 Testing Line on @cbsthismorning “We knew they(CBS) were coming, had no clue we were going to have to like do FAKE PATIENTS” – RN, Cherry Health "There were real patients which made it worse"#ExposeCBS pic.twitter.com/tA4LoS7P22 — James O'Keefe (@jamesokeefeiii) May 6, 2020 “A CBS News crew pulled medical professionals off the floor at the Cherry Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to line up in their vehicles so a CBS film crew would have a long line for their COVID-19 coverage,” Project Veritas reports. “The insider told us that medical personnel were taken away from treating patients and making the line longer for actual patients wait for the COVID-19 test.” On top of that, according to the Project Veritas report, because of the fake patients, the actual people who were in line to be tested had to wait a much longer than normal time to have their tests completed. In a statement, CBS News was forced to admit that at least one of the cars in the line was staged but denied having anything to do with it or knowing about it at the time: CBS News did not stage anything at the Cherry Health facility. Any suggestion to the contrary is 100% false. These allegations are alarming. We reached out to Cherry Health to address them immediately. They informed us for the first time that one of their chief officers told at least one staffer to get in the testing line along with real patients. No one from CBS News had any knowledge of this before tonight. They also said that their actions did not prevent any actual patients from being tested. CBS said it would remove the “Cherry Health portion from the piece,” but that’s what CBS said about the Italian hospital footage before fraudulently using it again. Tasha Blackmon, the president and CEO of the Cherry Health, told Project Veritas, “I did see the line of cars in the video that you shared with me. I can assure you that I did not instruct any staff to get in their cars and line up and I have no idea when it was filmed or who was in each car.” In March of this year, along with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI), Joe Biden toured Cherry Health as a guest of the facility. He also held a short news conference there. So CBS News says Cherry Health did it. Cherry Health says, nyuh-uh — wasn’t us. What we do know, though, is that CBS does agree the footage was faked to some degree and the network has been forced to pull it. What we do know is that this is the third time CBS News has broadcast fake news that makes things look worse than they are. What we also know is that these so-called mistakes only ever fall one way — in a way that is meant to damage Trump. That means they are not honest mistakes. Honest mistakes would sometimes fall the other way.

Dr. Jeff Barke, a family practice physician based in Newport Beach, California, spoke out recently on the COVID-19 rules during a rally in Riverside, California. The rally was held on May 5, 2020.
Advertisement - story continues below
Dr. Barke represents thousands of physicians like him that are being silenced by Big Tech, YouTube, Facebook, the liberal mainstream media and so-called government experts.
Dr. Jeff Barke: What if the experts are wrong. What if quarantining the healthy doesn’t actually save lives. What if wearing a mask in public is not effective. My name is Dr. Jeff Barke and I’m here representing thousands of physicians across the country whose voices are being silenced because we don’t agree with the mainstream media and the experts who are telling us what to do. Never in the history of this great republic have we quarantined the healthy. Never in the history of this great republic did we tell churchgoers that it’s illegal for you to exercise your First Amendment right of freedom of religion yet at the same time it’s essential to keep pot dispensaries open.
It’s good to hear practicing physicians push back against the very questionable policies pushed by elitist doctors based on garbage models.

www.dailywire.com/news/san-antonio-city-council-labels-term-chinese-virus-as-hateful-speech-ted-cruz-issues-fiery-responseSan Antonio City Council Labels Term ‘Chinese Virus’ As ‘Hateful Speech.’ Ted Cruz Issues Fiery Response. After the San Antonio City Council in Texas unanimously passed a resolution calling use of the terms ‘Chinese virus’ and ‘Kung Fu Virus’ to describe COVID-19 “hateful speech,” writing that the city would “prosecute and curb hate acts related to COVID-19,” Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) issued a fiery tweet condemning the action, writing, “This is NUTS. SA City Council behaving like a lefty college faculty lounge, triggered by Chick-fil-A & the words ‘Wuhan virus.’ If they want to investigate someone, start with NYT & CNN who both repeatedly (and rightly) referred to it as ‘the Chinese coronavirus.’ #NoSpeechPolice.” San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg wrote a letter to council members in which he stated: This coronavirus has held no regard for race, religion, creed, or political boundary. As such, our efforts must meet the indiscriminate nature of COVID-19 with empathy and compassion for all our neighbors. I ask that you consider adopting the attached resolution – which declares that our COVID-19 response efforts will be free of hate and discrimination – at the next Council A-Session. The resolution itself stated that COVID-19 “was not created or caused by any race, nationality or ethnicity, and the World Health Organization has cautioned against using geographic descriptors that can fuel ethnic and racial discrimination.” It added, “COVID-19 is a public health issue, not a racial, religious or ethnic one, and the deliberate use of terms such as ‘Chinese virus’ or ‘Kung Fu virus’ to describe COVID-19 only encourages hate crimes and incidents against Asians and further spreads misinformation at a time when communities should be working together to get through this crisis …” The resolution continued, “The City of San Antonio will continue its efforts to protect residents and targets and victims of hate, and to prosecute and curb hate acts related to COVID-19 in partnership with nonprofit organizations, the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, the San Antonio Police Department and other law enforcement partners.” In early March, The New York Times reported that critics had singled out conservatives such as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) for using the term “Wuhan” when describing the coronavirus that has affected various parts of the world. The Times tweeted: Some conservatives, including Mike Pompeo, Sen. Tom Cotton and Rep. Paul Gosar, are using the term “Wuhan virus” to describe Covid-19. Critics accused the term, which goes against the recommendation of health officials, of being racist and xenophobic. But the Times itself had used the term “Wuhan” numerous times when describing the coronavirus, as can be seen here. Additionally, CNN referred to“Wuhan virus” in January, and The Wall Street Journal, which later changed its headline, appears to have referred to coronavirus as “Wuhan virus” around the same time. The original title for the WSJ piece appeared in the site’s URL.

thefederalist.com/2020/05/08/jimmy-kimmel-deceptively-edits-video-of-mike-pence-claims-he-delivered-empty-boxes-to-a-nursing-home/Jimmy Kimmel Deceptively Edits Video Of Mike Pence, Claims He Delivered Empty Boxes To A Nursing Home MAY 8, 2020 By Chrissy Clark On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host Jimmy Kimmel deceptively cut and reviewed footage of Vice President Mike Pence delivering boxes of protective medical equipment to a health care center. Kimmel cut the video to show Pence “caught on a hot mic” asking to deliver empty boxes for the cameras. “Here [Pence] is, with no mask on, wheeling boxes of PPE into a health care center and doing his best to lift them. What a hero,” Kimmel said sarcastically. In the video you can hear a volunteer telling Pence the the rest of the boxes in the van are empty. “Well can I carry the empty ones? Just for the camera?” Pence asks, according to Kimmel’s transcription. Kimmel cuts the footage there Upon further examination of the full video provided by C-SPAN, there are two errors in Kimmel’s deceptive video. In Kimmel’s transcription of the video, Pence allegedly asks if he can I carry the empty boxes. However, without a transcription it sounds as if Pence asks, “am I carrying the empty ones, just for the camera?” Although Kimmel conveniently cut the footage, in the continued video people start laughing at Pence’s question and the Vice President immediately turns around and closes the door to the van with the empty boxes. He never carries empty boxes for the cameras and everyone around him took his question as a joke. Except for the so-called late night comedian. Watch: Mainstream media journalists and Democrats were pushing Kimmel’s deceptively edited video footage on social media claiming Pence was only delivering medical equipment as a “PR stunt.” Progressive pollster Matt McDermott, who first out tweeted Kimmel’s video on Friday to the tune of 130,000 retweets, doubled down when others pointed out the deceptively edited clip. McDermott took screenshots of the deceptive Pence quotes and shared those to his 82,000 followers as well. After Kimmel was called out for his deceptive video, he deleted his tweet calling Pence a “big box of nothing.” The media’s response to New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo working to serve during coronavirus was vastly different than their treatment of Pence. The media botched reports on Pence calling his servant leadership a “PR stunt,” meanwhile they heralded Cuomo as a hero. When Cuomo shut down the New York City subway system for a deep clean — the first one in 115 years — the media parroted Cuomo’s talking points, declaring it a “monumental undertaking.” New York has the largest infection rate in the United States. With its unprecedented infection rate, it would be a monumental mistake not to clean the largest public transportation system in the city. The media work tirelessly to portray the Trump administration and its allies as the enemy, meanwhile cheering on Democratic governors, like Cuomo, whose states have become the epicenter of the virus.

www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/05/06/michelle-obama-having-children-a-concession-that-cost-me-dreams/Former first lady Michelle Obama said in her newly-released Netflix documentary Becoming that having children was a “concession” that cost her “aspirations and dreams.” Obama made the remarks while talking about her desire to become “equal” to her husband, President Barack Obama. My relationship with Barack was all about our equal partnership,” Obama recalled. “If I was going to have a unique voice with this very opinionated man, I had to get myself up and set myself off to a place where I was going to be his equal.” However, the birth of their two daughters, Malia and Sasha, “changed” the course of the couple’s relationship. Let's see. Never having to work a day in your life. A 350K a year no show job. Living the life of royalty on the dime of others for 8 years. Having $100 dropped in your lap for just being married. Yeah. Boo fucking hoo.

Max Baucus, former Ambassador to China under President Barack Obama and a former U.S. Senator from Montana, compared President Donald Trump to the 20th century Nazi leader Adolph Hitler for his rhetoric against China for the communist government’s unleashing of the COVID-19 Chinese coronavirus on the U.S. and the world. Baucus also warned the U.S. will “pay a price” for criticizing China. Baucus was U.S. ambassador to China from 2014 until 2017. A Democrat, Baucus served in the Senate from 1978 until his appointment as ambassador in 2014 by Obama. Baucus currently sits on advisory boards to the Chinese company Alibaba Group and the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. Baucus made his comments in an interview Wednesday with CNN International anchor Hala Gorani who appeared stunned by Baucus comparing Trump to Hitler and stammered her way through her follow-up question. Transcript: Baucus: “The administration’s rhetoric is so strong against China, it’s, it’s, it’s, it’s over the top. Very sad, we’re entering a kind of era which is similar to Joe McCarthy, uh, back when he was red-baiting the State Department and attacking communism. And a little bit like Hitler! In the Thirties, um that a lot of people knew what was going on was wrong. They knew it was wrong. But they didn’t stand up and say anything about it. They felt intimidated. And now in the United States if anybody says anything reasonable about China he or she feels intimidated. Afraid his head’s gonna be chopped off. And back in the Thirties in Germany there, it was very similar. People who were responsible uh, in the U.S. and especially responsible in Germany couldn’t speak up. And I worry that some of that is happening now. And it’s very dangerous. And I think it’s happening in part because the Republican administration of Donald Trump uh, realizes that the economy is not doing well probably because of the coronavirus. And, uh, they’ve therefore have to pivot. They have to blame somebody. And they’re blaming China. And it’s gonna be very difficult to get back on track after the election–whoever’s elected.” Gorani: “Okay, uh, uh, be-before I go, I mean the comparison you’re making here between the, the current U.S. uh, atmosphere in Washington and uh, Germany in the Thirties, I mean that, that’a a very, that’s a very sss, you know, kind of, is it, is it, are you being provocative? Or do you really believe that there are parallels?” Baucus: “I think we’re moving in that direction. Um, and I, it’s, I’m not saying we’re there yet. But there are a lot of very responsible people in America who know that this China bashing is irresponsible and we’re gonna pay a price the more it continues. That’s what I’m saying. But they’re afraid to speak up because they’re afraid that they’ll be criticized.” His bio: www.uschamber.com/ambassador-max-baucusIn 2014 U.S. President Barack Obama nominated Max Sieben Baucus to be Ambassador of the United States of America to the Peoples Republic of China. He served as Ambassador from February 21, 2014 until January 19, 2017. Ambassador Baucus formerly served as the senior United States Senator from Montana. He served in the U.S. Senate from 1978 to 2014 and was Montana’s longest serving U.S. Senator as well as the third longest tenure among those serving in the U.S. Senate. While in the Senate, Ambassador Baucus was Chairman and Ranking Member of the powerful Senate Committee on Finance. While Chairman, he was the chief architect of the Affordable Health Care Act (ACA) which was signed by President Barack Obama into law March 23, 2009. Ambassador Baucus has extensive experience in international trade. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, he led the passage and enactment of the Free Trade Agreements with 11 countries: Australia, Bahrain, Jordan, Chile, Colombia, Morocco, Oman, Panama, Peru, Singapore and South Korea. He also was deeply involved in orchestrating the congressional approval of permanent normal trade relations with China in 2000 and in facilitating China’s entrance into the World Trade Organization in 2001. Ambassador Baucus also served as Vice Chairman of the Senate Joint Committee on Taxation and as a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry where he led in the reauthorization of numerous Farm Bills. He was additionally selected as a member of the Senate Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction (Super Committee) following the financial crisis of 2008. Ambassador Baucus was also a member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and chaired its Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure where he managed numerous infrastructure legislative acts and Highway Bills. Before his election to the U.S. Senate, Ambassador Baucus represented Montana in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1975 to 1978 and represented Missoula, Montana in the Montana House of Representatives from 1973 to 1974. thefederalist.com/2020/05/07/bill-de-blasios-plan-to-defer-rent-for-a-year-is-insane/Bill De Blasio’s Plan To Defer Rent For A Year Is Insane De Blasio's ridiculous rent deferment plan offers no real help to New Yorkers being crushed by the shutdown. So what about someone like myself whose home is paid for?

The left is losing its mind over Flynn. So, I took one for the team by smoking a fat one and watching the news last night. My favorite? Some former DA on Madcow saying that there's a "glimmer" that once there is a "new DOJ" that he will be tried on the charges he admitted to but wasn't charged. Oh we can always hope.

amgreatness.com/2020/05/06/reopen-society-and-shut-down-moral-narcissism/Reopen Society And Shut Down Moral Narcissism We are all in this apart and together and forward, comrade! By Cindy Simpson • May 6, 2020 Moral narcissists are helping to make sure America’s COVID-19 lockdown continues in full force, shaming anyone who objects, refuses, questions, or even simply voices concerns or complaints. I Know Best: How Moral Narcissism Is Destroying Our Republic, If It Hasn’t Already is the title of Roger Simon’s fascinating 2016 book on the subject of moral narcissism. Simon described this particular kind of narcissism as a “far more lethal form” that is destroying “our families, friendships, workplace atmosphere, and democratic republic.” That kind of lethality infecting the “cure” for a pandemic could certainly produce an outcome much worse than that of the virus itself. Simon describes the feelings of the moral narcissist this way: What you believe, or claim to believe or say you believe—not what you do or how you act or what the results of your actions may be—defines you as a person and makes you “good.” It is how your life will be judged by others and by yourself… If your intentions are good, if they conform to the general received values of your friends, family, and co-workers, what a person of your class and social milieu is supposed to think, everything is fine. You are that “good” person. You are ratified. You can do anything you wish. It doesn’t matter in the slightest what the results of those ideas and beliefs are, or how society, the country, and in some cases, the world suffers from them. It doesn’t matter that they misfire completely, cause terror attacks, illness, death, riots in the inner city, or national bankruptcy. You will be applauded and approved of. We’re supposed to think that the continued shutdowns over the coronavirus are good. Those who dare to ask about the science and models behind lockdown orders, the increasing collateral damage to our economy, or the difference between dying with or dying of the virus, much less the deaths that are happening because of the shutdown—receive swift judgment from the moral narcissists. Not in the form of factual or intelligent answers, but rather, questions framed to shame: Don’t you care about granny? Do you want more people to die? Is the economy more important to you than people’s lives? For the moral narcissist, Simon quipped, “A trip to Whole Foods in a Tesla became the equivalent of striking a blow against world hunger.” Today, wearing a mask while you shop (and only for “essentials”)—plus making sure everyone else wears one and also stays 6 feet away—has become the equivalent of saving people from dying. These moral narcissists don’t trouble themselves with facts, such as the reality that everyone dies, eventually, or that even before COVID-19 most people who died were elderly, and that most residents who moved into nursing homes were well over the age of average life expectancy and stayed less than six months (and that wasn’t because they checked out and decided to move instead to a condo in Florida). Neither “quarantine the healthy” nor “social distancing” are even remotely considered oxymoronic phrases by the moral narcissists, who also don’t seem to worry about the psychological impacts of it all (especially) on our children and our nation’s social cohesion and psyche. Even though one-size-fits-all versions of anything rarely fit anyone at all, the narcissists still insist on this style of sweeping, draconian strategies to combat the virus. The individuals suffering from lack of proper medical care for other conditions, unemployment, etc., are but specks in the narcissist’s imagined grand picture of the greater good for the collective. If the call to action in the name of public health has revealed the inner dictator in many of our government officials, they’ve found their own army of volunteer enforcers—the moral narcissists not only in the media but in our own neighborhoods. Their shutdown orders may not be constitutional, but by golly, they are moral! If it only saves one life! And if you disagree with that precept, you could go to jail—not for being guilty of what used to be considered an actual crime, but for failing to comply with these do-gooders’ conceptions of morality. As Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot warned those who refused to follow her stay-at-home orders: “We have to take that next level of enforcement to make sure that we save lives . . . We will shut you down, we will cite you, and if we need to, we will arrest you and we will take you to jail.” She also asked residents to anonymously submit tips of the order-breakers to the police. You see, Mayor Lightfoot and the anonymous tattle-tales know best. Not coincidentally, it’s also many of the “same people,” as Julie Kelly noted, who knew better than we and who promoted the “collusion hoax, fluffed for Mueller, ignored Russiagate, joined the Kavanaugh lynch mob, condemned pro-life high schoolers for smirking, and demanded impeachment over a phone call [that also] now support a prolonged lockdown.” The crisis of the virus has certainly given power-hungry state and local politicians a power-grabbing opportunity that they couldn’t let go to waste. But for the moral narcissists, it delivered them the perfect scenario for shaming others into conformity: new rules in order to save lives from the virus—the perfect companion cause to add to their quest to save the planet from climate change (and of course they’re still working on that too, trying to insert Green New Deal policies into the virus relief bills). But they aren’t looking past their upturned noses to see the mounting collateral damage resulting from their efforts, and as Simon warned, this kind of narcissism: …makes people blind to reality and democracy moot…[T]he narcissistic allure is not far from the allure of fascism…If our politics is dictated by what makes us feel good about ourselves, our mirror will soon, perhaps inevitably, morph into mass movements in which mock Gestapo salutes or pseudo-anarchist Guy Fawkes face masks, not to mention faded T-shirts emblazoned with mass murderers like Che and Mao, become the real thing. And here we are: “Social distancing” is the new motto for those signaling their virtuous adherence to this new religion. Other faiths haven’t been outlawed (yet) as they essentially were by communist regimes, but our churches and synagogues have been shut down, threatened with permanent closure if they fail to comply, and when allowed to reopen must do so at reduced capacity. Freedom of religion already has been evolving into the more limited concept of freedom of worship, and that is now subject to new restrictions. Masks are required to cover the very faces out of which, as H. Reed Armstrong once wrote, “the soul, the image and likeness of God, shines through.” Community, where resistance might form, is instead unraveled with Orwellian slogans like “Alone Together.” And in case you don’t conform to the new edicts of this Moral New World, Big Brother will keep tabs on your social media, and you—with contact tracing and his army of neighborhood watchers. We are all in this apart and together and forward, comrade!

rairfoundation.com/italian-leader-slams-false-coronavirus-numbers-25000-did-not-die-its-a-way-to-impose-a-dictatorship-watch/On Friday, April 24, 2020, Vittorio Sgarbi, a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, denounced what he claims are false coronavirus death statistics. Sgarbi feels that fake statistics are being propagated by the government and the media to terrorize the citizens of Italy and establish a dictatorship. The member of the Forza Italia party slammed the closure of 60% of Italian businesses for 25,000 Chinese-Coronavirus deaths from the floor of the legislature. “It’s not true,” he said. “Don’t use the deaths for rhetoric and terrorism.” According to the National Institute of Health, 96.3% did not die of coronavirus, but of other pathologies stated Sgarbi – which means that only 925 have died from the virus and 24,075 have died of other things claimed Sgarbi, “….the virus was little more than an influenza. Don’t lie! Tell the truth!”

www.dailywire.com/news/ca-doctor-cites-declaration-constitution-at-rally-we-the-people-want-to-go-back-to-workCA Doctor Cites Declaration, Constitution At Rally: ‘We The People Want To Go Back To Work’ At a protest rally to open Riverside County from stay-at-home orders implemented across the state, a California family physician who is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, gave an impassioned speech citing the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution while asserting, “This booklet, the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution, was never designed to restrain the people; it was designed to restrain the government … We the people want to get back to work. We the people want to put our government back in its place. We want a small representative government, not a large tyrannical government.” Dr. Jeffrey Barke claimed, “As we see the statistics come in, we’re realizing that the fatality rate of this virus is in the ballpark of a bad seasonal influenza. What we’re also knowing is that just like other respiratory viral illnesses in the past, we get over this virus by achieving herd immunity. We can never achieve herd immunity by keeping the herd quarantined.” Barke started by saying: What if wearing a mask in public is not effective? My name is Dr. Jeff Barke, and I’m here representing thousands of physicians across the country whose voices are being silenced because we don’t agree with the mainstream media and the experts who are telling us what to do. Never in the history of this great republic have we quarantined the healthy; never in the history of this great republic have we told churchgoers that it’s illegal for you to exercise your First Amendment right of freedom of religion. Yet, at the same time. it’s essential to keep pot dispensaries open. Never in the history of this country have we been told that you can’t go to church because it’s “non-essential” but you can go get an abortion because that’s “essential.” Never before in our country have we let criminals out of jail but we’ve told you, you can’t exercise your Second Amendment right and protect yourself by purchasing a firearm. When liquor stores are deemed essential but your businesses are deemed non-essential, there’s something wrong going on. Barke held up a booklet, then continued, “This booklet, the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution, was never designed to restrain the people; it was designed to restrain the government. This is not New York, and thank God, this is not San Francisco. Governor Newsom has gone too far; Gov. Newsom has stepped on our liberties and our freedoms.” Barke stated: As a physician, I can tell you: Yes, this virus is dangerous. But as we see the statistics come in, we’re realizing that the fatality rate of this virus is in the ballpark of a bad seasonal influenza. What we’re also knowing is that just like other respiratory viral illnesses in the past, we get over this virus by achieving herd immunity. We can never achieve herd immunity by keeping the herd quarantined. He addressed the disparity in how the coronavirus attacked certain demographics: It’s time that we protect the vulnerable and the most at risk, but we allow the young and healthy to open the doors and get back to work. Do not let your voices be silenced; make sure that your elected representatives, who apparently are “essential,” hear your voice loud and clear. As we see unemployment rise to depression levels, we also see suicide increase. We see domestic violence increase; we see child abuse increase. We see alcohol and drug abuse increase; all because the government has overstepped its reach. We will see eventually that this cure, this government-imposed cure, is going to be worse than the virus itself. But what’s happening now as unemployment reaches 20 to 30 million people, is those folks are now becoming dependent on the government, and what government dependency causes is a larger, more tyrannical government.Barke concluded: We the people want to get back to work. We the people want to put our government back in its place. We want a small representative government, not a large tyrannical government. I’m here representing thousands of physicians around the country whose voices must be heard. It is an honor and privilege to be here to ask that Riverside County be opened. We wan Orange County to be opened. We want the whole state of California to be opened. And we want our whole country, the United States of America, to open back up, and we the people will not take it any longer. .......................................... The bolded part is the money shot and completely true.

www.dailywire.com/news/walsh-dont-be-fooled-by-the-media-narrative-governor-cuomo-has-done-an-awful-jobWALSH: Don’t Be Fooled By The Media Narrative. Governor Cuomo Has Done An Awful Job. The media has smothered New York Governor Andrew Cuomo with fawning praise from the beginning of this crisis and the downpour of adulation still continues, with no sign of letting up. Contrast this with the scorn heaped on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who we are told is a reckless and dangerous imbecile, among other things. One can’t help but notice a key difference between these two governors that may explain the varied reception they have received. That difference, of course, is the letter next to their names. But there is another difference, one that the media pretends not to notice and hopes you will not notice, either: Governor Cuomo has done the worst job of containing the outbreak (over 20,000 dead) while Governor DeSantis has been among the best (fewer than 2,000 dead in a population slightly larger than New York’s). This appears to be the general pattern. The governors who have presided over the worst outbreaks are hailed as heroes while the governors who have been most successful in controlling the spread are cast as villains. But nowhere is this upside down approach more evident than with Governor Cuomo, the coronavirus champion who has managed to get everything wrong, every step of the way. Granted, he faced a greater challenge than any other governor because his state happens to contain a city with 26,000 people packed into every square mile. And granted most of his missteps have been the same missteps that most other governors have made. It is clear that locking everyone in their homes and driving a knife directly into the heart of the economy in order to fight a virus was a very bad strategy, and one that may take more lives than it saves in the long run. Cuomo does not deserve unique blame for this disaster. But neither does he deserve unique praise. At best, he has been just as incompetent as everyone else. Though I think even that would be an overly generous assessment. Cuomo not only kept the subway system open — despite it being a known vector for the illness — but he apparently didn’t think to give it a thorough cleaning until this week. Worse, Cuomo forced nursing homes to take in coronavirus patients, which is the equivalent of starting a campfire on a windy day in a forest full of dead wood during wildfire season. It has been well known from the beginning that nursing homes are particularly vulnerable to outbreaks and their residents are most at risk of fatal complications from the illness. Nearly 5,000 nursing home residents have died from coronavirus in New York alone. In many other states across the country, well over half of all fatalities have happened in nursing homes. Cuomo’s decision to forcibly introduce the infection into these facilities — while refusing to provide protective gear, because it’s “not his job” — can be directly blamed for many deaths. The nursing home mandate is a breathtaking scandal in and of itself. But you won’t hear much about it on the news, because the news media has already settled on its “Cuomo the Corona Conqueror” narrative. You especially won’t hear about it on CNN, a news network that has enlisted Cuomo’s admiring younger brother to conduct its interviews with the governor. These segments, too, have received fawning approval. But something tells me the fans of the Cuomo-Cuomo chat sessions would not be nearly as impressed if Fox hired Don Jr to do cutesy little interviews with his father. In any case, obviously we cannot blame Cuomo for every death in his state. But we can ask whether there is any good reason to praise his performance. I see compelling evidence that his leadership has been a failure. Where is the evidence that it has been a smashing success? Or perhaps we might phrase the question this way: If Cuomo’s leadership during this crisis has not been a failure, what exactly would failure look like?

Back in 2015 while his health officials suggested buying respirators, PPE, etc., Gov Guido spent money on solar panels, renewable energy, illegals, etc. Over one billion. NY is one of 35 states, plus DC, that puts a limit on hospital beds. Fast forward to now and he makes the brilliant decision to send sick people back to long care facilities. Why send them to the 1000 beds on the Navy ship or the thousands at the Javits Center - both courtesy of the president. The subways? He decided just a week ago that cleaning them every night might be a good idea. Toss in releasing criminals among other actions and he's done a shitty job. I'm sure you'll hear that on Fredo tonight.
