justthenews.com/accountability/russia-and-ukraine-scandals/newly-declassified-evidence-undercuts-former-dni-jamesStarting in early 2017, the committee interviewed dozens of witnesses for its investigation into Russian election interference. In a July 2017 interview with Clapper, Republican members asked if he had briefed Obama on the Flynn-Kislyak phone calls.
“No,” Clapper answered.
Clapper’s denial conflicts with earlier congressional testimony provided by former FBI Director James Comey. According to Comey’s March 2017 account, he briefed Clapper on the Flynn-Kislyak calls and then gave the former DNI copies of the transcripts, as he requested.
“In the first week of January,” said Comey, Clapper “briefed the President and the Vice President and then President Obama’s senior team about what we had found.”
Comey’s testimony squares with the account of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. In his 2019 book “The Threat,” McCabe writes that after an analyst shared the information with him, he “shared it with Comey; Comey shared it with the director of national intelligence, James Clapper; and Clapper verbally briefed it to President Obama.”

www.foxnews.com/politics/durham-moving-full-throttle-on-russia-probe-review-with-top-federal-prosecutors-involved-sourcesDurham moving ‘full-throttle’ on Russia probe review, top federal prosecutors involved: sources U.S. Attorney for Connecticut John Durham is going “full throttle” with his review into the origins of the investigation into suspected Russia-Trump coordination in the 2016 election, with additional top prosecutors involved in looking at different components of the original probe, sources told Fox News. Two sources told Fox News that Jeff Jensen, the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri who was tapped by the Justice Department in February to review the case of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, is continuing to help with Durham’s investigation even after the DOJ’s move last week to drop the case against Flynn. DOJ DROPS CASE AGAINST MICHAEL FLYNN, IN WAKE OF INTERNAL MEMO RELEASE The sources told Fox News that interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Timothy Shea is also assisting with components of the investigation. “They farmed the investigation out because it is too much for Durham and he didn’t want to be distracted,” one of the sources told Fox News. TRUMP CALLS FOR 'DIRTY COPS' TO PAY 'BIG PRICE' FOR RUSSIA PROBE “He’s going full throttle, and they’re looking at everything,” the source told Fox News. The Justice Department declined to comment on Jensen and Shea’s involvement. President Trump rails against 'dirty cops' in Russia probeVideo DOJ INVESTIGATES THE INVESTIGATORS: 5 INTERNAL PROBES UNDERWAY ON RUSSIA AND MORE Any indication that Durham could be building a case against anyone involved in the original Russia probe, however, is sure to inflame tensions between the Trump administration and congressional Democrats -- who already are ramping up accusations that these Justice Department reviews have become politicized. They slammed Attorney General Bill Barr for the DOJ’s decision Thursday to drop the Flynn case. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., who was a key figure during Trump's impeachment proceedings, called the decision “outrageous." HOUSE INTEL TRANSCRIPTS SHOW TOP OBAMA OFFICIALS HAD NO 'EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE' OF TRUMP-RUSSIA COLLUSION "The evidence against General Flynn is overwhelming," Nadler, D-N.Y., said in a statement. Nadler and Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee on Friday also formally requested that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz launch an investigation into Barr’s “pattern of conduct that includes improper political interference.” The DOJ determined that the bureau's 2017 Flynn interview -- which formed the basis for his guilty plea of lying to investigators -- was "conducted without any legitimate investigative basis." MICHAEL FLYNN PROSECUTION: A TIMELINE OF TRUMP'S EX-NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER'S CASE The retired Army lieutenant general for months has been trying to withdraw his plea, aided by a new attorney aggressively challenging the prosecution’s case and conduct. Breadcrumbs were being dropped in the days preceding the decision that his case could be reconsidered. Documents unsealed the prior week by the Justice Department revealed agents discussed their motivations for interviewing him in the Russia probe – questioning whether they wanted to "get him to lie" so he'd be fired or prosecuted, or get him to admit wrongdoing. Flynn allies howled over the revelations, arguing that he essentially had been set up in a perjury trap. In that interview, Flynn did not admit wrongdoing and instead was accused of lying about his contacts with the then-Russian ambassador – to which he pleaded guilty. Jensen reportedly was the one who recommended dropping the case to Barr. Meanwhile, Barr, during an interview with CBS News on Thursday, was asked whether he felt the FBI conspired to get Flynn fired from the Trump administration. “I think, you know, that's a question that really has to wait [for] an analysis of all the different episodes that occurred through the summer of 2016 and the first several months of President Trump's administration,” Barr told CBS News, while adding that Durham is “still looking at all of this,” in reference to the Flynn case. AG Barr address status of Durham investigationVideo “This is one particular episode, but we view it as part of a number of related acts ... and we’re looking at the whole pattern of conduct,” Barr said, noting that they were investigating before “and after ... the election.” Meanwhile, a source said that the "pattern of conduct" Durham is investigating includes misrepresentations made to the FISA court to obtain warrants to surveil Trump campaign associate Carter Page. “Barr talks to Durham every day,” one source recently told Fox News. “The president has been briefed that the case is being pursued, and it’s serious.” COMEY SOUNDS OFF AFTER MOVE TO DROP FLYNN CASE President Trump on Friday offered a vague, but ominous, warning as the Durham probe proceeds. "It was a very dangerous situation what they did," Trump said during an interview with “Fox & Friends” Friday. "These are dirty politicians and dirty cops and some horrible people and hopefully they're going to pay a big price in the not too distant future.” Trump was specifically reacting to newly released transcripts of interviews from the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia investigation that revealed top Obama officials acknowledged they knew of no “empirical evidence” of a conspiracy despite their concerns and suspicions. K.T. McFarland on Flynn takedown: 'It wasn't just one or two bad apples'Video The officials' responses align with the results of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation — which found no evidence of criminal coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia in 2016, while not reaching a determination on obstruction of justice. The transcripts, which were released by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., revealed top Obama officials were questioned over whether they had or had seen evidence of such collusion, coordination or conspiracy -- the issue that drove the FBI's initial case and later the special counsel probe. They generally said they had not. “I never saw any direct empirical evidence that the Trump campaign or someone in it was plotting/conspiring with the Russians to meddle with the election,” former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper testified in 2017. “That’s not to say that there weren’t concerns about the evidence we were seeing, anecdotal evidence. ... But I do not recall any instance where I had direct evidence.” As for Durham’s probe, multiple sources familiar told Fox News that he is expected to wrap up his investigation by the end of the summer.

dailycaller.com/2020/05/11/richard-grenell-michael-flynn-unmasked-obama-officials/Report: Grenell Wants To Unmask The Obama Officials Who Unmasked Michael Flynn Richard Grenell, the acting director of national intelligence, visited the Justice Department last week seeking to declassify documents related to Obama administration officials’s unmasking of Michael Flynn in transcripts of phone calls he had with Russia’s ambassador, ABC News is reporting. Grenell is asking the Justice Department to declassify a list of names of officials involved in the unmasking process, a senior intelligence official told ABC. Unmasking refers to a process where top U.S. government officials can request information on American citizens picked up during electronic surveillance of foreigners. Flynn was unveiled as taking part in a Dec. 29, 2016 phone with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador. It is not illegal for U.S. officials to make unmasking requests. But the information on Flynn was leaked to The Washington Post, opening up the possibility that someone in the Obama administration illegally disclosed classified information. An unidentified senior U.S. official provided details of the Flynn-Kislyak phone call to The Washington Post for a column published on Jan. 12, 2017. The revelations set off a chain of events that led the FBI to interview Flynn at the White House on Jan. 24, 2017. Flynn pleaded guilty to making false statements in that interview regarding the substance of his conversation with Kislyak. But he retracted that admission of guilt on Jan. 29. (RELATED: Documents Shed Light On Media Leak Central To Michael Flynn Case) Former national security adviser General Michael Flynn (REUTERS/Carlos Barria) The Justice Department filed a motion to withdraw charges against Flynn on Thursday, citing the discovery of FBI documents that showed that the bureau was about to shut down a counterintelligence investigation of Flynn just before he was unmasked in the phone call with Kislyak. Attorney General William Barr defended the decision on Thursday, saying that he believed the FBI set a “perjury trap” for Flynn. He also said that there was nothing illegal about Flynn’s call with Kislyak. Grenell, who is also serving as ambassador to Germany, has led a push in recent weeks to declassify a trove of documents related to the FBI’s investigation of various Trump associates. He took part in the process to declassify footnotes from a Justice Department inspector general’s report on the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation. The footnotes, which were published on April 10, revealed that the bureau had evidence of possible Russian disinformation in the Steele dossier. Grenell also pressured Rep. Adam Schiff into releasing 53 transcripts of interviews that the House Intelligence Committee conducted as part of its investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. The transcripts showed that multiple Obama administration officials testified that they had not seen evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government. The transcripts also revealed that Obama administration officials James Clapper, Susan Rice, Ben Rhodes, and Samantha Power denied taking part in the Flynn leak. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence did not respond to a request for comment.

www.nationalreview.com/corner/protecting-obama/Protecting Obama By PETER KIRSANOW May 11, 2020 2:39 PM A review of weekend news coverage and commentary shows that mainstream media have gone into full “Protect Obama” mode. Evidence released last week — including, but not limited to, House Intelligence Committee transcripts showing that multiple top-level Obama administration officials were lying to the public for three years about Russian collusion — indicates that former president Barack Obama wasn’t merely aware of what was going on; he was hip-deep in what increasingly appears to be one of the greatest political scandals in American history. For other than the most sycophantic and credulous media personalities, Obama’s involvement isn’t much of a surprise. The August 5, 2016 email from Peter Strzok to Lisa Page stating, “the White House is running this,” followed by the September 2016 Page text to Strzok stating, “POTUS wants to know everything we’re doing” suggested the obvious: An operation targeting a presidential campaign and then an incoming presidential administration isn’t a mere freelance effort cooked up by a few rogue FBI personnel in their spare time. An operation of that magnitude and import must be blessed from the very top. Indeed, the January 5, 2017 White House meeting with President Obama, vice president Joe Biden, FBI director James Comey, deputy attorney general Sally Yates, director of national intelligence James Clapper, CIA director John Brennan, and national security adviser Susan Rice (which meeting was the subject of Rice’s mother-of-all C.Y.A. emails to herself on Inauguration Day) suggests that Obama wasn’t merely kept informed of the Russia collusion fraud, he was providing direction. Notwithstanding the IRS targeting of politically disfavored citizens, Fast and Furious gunrunning, the VA debacle, Benghazi, surveillance of reporters, and other scandals, an adoring mainstream press consistently parrots Obama’s risible claim that his administration was scandal-free. But the Russia-collusion hoax dwarfs all the other Obama scandals and malfeasance combined. Obama knows this. So do the media. They also know most of Obama’s “achievements” haven’t even survived Trump’s first term. The media-enabled fiction of a scandal-free administration is nearly all that remains of the Obama legacy. So it must be maintained. After all, he’s progressives’ Lightworker. He validates their pieties, conceits, and presumptions. That’s why we’re about to experience media prevarication, deflection, omission, and misrepresentation on a scale never before witnessed in political news coverage — even eclipsing that of the last three years. Obama must be protected, facts be damned. And if they spin furiously enough, they might even be rewarded with a Pulitzer.

www.nationalreview.com/corner/obama-laments-flynn-dismissal-after-granting-clemency-to-faln-terrorist/Obama Laments Flynn Dismissal . . . after Granting Clemency to FALN Terrorist By ANDREW C. MCCARTHY May 11, 2020 10:22 AM The best defense is a good offense. That was my first thought on learning that former president Barack Obama has decided to make himself heard on the dismissal of the prosecution of Michael Flynn. As I’ve been noting for years, notwithstanding his pretensions about never interfering in FBI investigations, Mr. Obama was smack in the middle of his administration’s investigation of the Trump campaign. This week, in the exhibits appended to the Justice Department’s Flynn dismissal motion, it was revealed that Obama was neck-deep in the investigation of Flynn, concocted into a collusion caper by his intel advisers and the FBI. It is not a spotlight the former president covets, so he’s lashing out . . . and the usual wagons are circling. My friend Joe Connor, whose father was killed by FALN, reminds me that in one of his last official acts, Obama granted clemency to Oscar Lopez Rivera, one of that Marxist terrorist organization’s front-men. Ben Domenech put it well at the time: Lopez TOP ARTICLES 1/5 READ MORE The Coronavirus Pandemic of 2020 in Historical Perspective recruited and trained a small army of terrorists to murder his fellow Americans. He built bomb factories. He taught the young and impressionable how to make devices that would kill and maim. . . . When he was put on trial, he admitted to doing all he had been accused of — he showed no remorse. After quoting that excerpt from Ben, the Heritage Foundation’s Mike Gonzalez recounts that Lopez was a fugitive for five years at the time of his 1981 arrest, when police found six pounds of dynamite in his Chicago apartment. After he was originally sentenced to 55 years’ imprisonment, another 15 years were tacked on in 1988, when Lopez conspired to escape from a federal penitentiary. Lopez could have been sprung years earlier, when President Clinton granted clemency to other FALN terrorists (in order to help his wife, Hillary, who was planning a run for the Senate in New York and hoping to court the Puerto Rican vote). But Lopez declined Clinton’s offer, which included the condition that the imprisoned militants renounce terrorism as a method of seeking Puerto Rican independence. When Obama ordered Lopez released in January 2017, even as the scheme to ensnare Flynn was being hatched, Gonzalez further notes that Obama’s old friend, the unrepentant former terrorist Bill Ayers, gleefully tweeted, “Oscar Lopez freed!” So by all means, Mr. President, go ahead and fret about how the “rule of law” is threatened by the dismissal of a politicized case against a decorated combat commander of the United States — a case the Justice Department would not have a prayer of winning if it were tried in court. It’s touching. But some of us will remember that you figured the rule of law would get along just fine despite the get-out-of-jail card you doled out to a righteously convicted anti-American terrorist.

The GOP lawmaker who confronted Obama-era Attorney General Eric Holder accountable for his involvement in the “Fast and Furious” gun running scandal that provided high powered firearms to cartel members who eventually murdered Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry is sounding the alarm once again.
Sandy Adams, a former undercover law enforcement officer and veteran who served one term in congress during the Tea Party wave of 2010 has told TGP that Holder and Obama need to be held accountable for many things.
TGP reached out to former lawmaker Congresswoman Adams after hearing Mexico is signaling that the United States can still apologize for the gun running that aided violent cartels.
“As a former law enforcement officer, I can tell you that is highly unlikely that guns would have been able to walk across the Southern border without approval from the Attorney General. The fact that Attorney General Holder claimed he had now knowledge of this operation until after Agent Terry was murdered means he was incompetent or untruthful.”
Adams famously roasted Holder nearly a decade ago about this, resulting in holder barking back “don’t dictate to me.” Now, as Americans are being acquainted with how lawless Holder and Obama were during the 2016 election cycle in targeting General Michael Flynn and Trump advisor Roger Stone, Congresswoman Adams grilling of Holder is all the more relevant. Watch it below.
Roger Stone called Adams a patriot when contacted by TGP.
“Hearing Obama and Holder talk about the rule of laugh is a laughable joke. What they did makes Watergate look like small potatoes. They utilized the intelligence agencies to achieve their political goals and used fabricated evidence to justify their crimes.”

Check out this quick video This advertiser wants to share this with you Promoted by Sponsor See More ABC News first reported the news but initially said in the title that Grenell was in the process of trying to declassify the list of Obama officials. A source with knowledge of the matter told The Daily Wire that the list has already been declassified and now it’s on Attorney General William Barr to release the list. ABC News appeared to later update their report, which stated: abcnews.go.com/Politics/acting-dni-seeks-declassify-obama-officials-involved-flynn/story?id=70624372Grenell, who remains the U.S. ambassador to Germany along with being the acting DNI, visited the Justice Department last week and brought the list with him, according to the official. His visit indicates his focus on an issue previously highlighted in 2017 by skeptics of the investigation into the Trump campaign’s contacts with Russia, specifically allegations that former officials improperly unveiled Flynn’s identity from intercepts of his call with former Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Grenell’s visit came the same week that Attorney General William Barr moved to dismiss the criminal case against Flynn following his guilty plea for lying to the FBI about his conversations with Kislyak. In an interview last week, Barr said that the charges against Flynn were dropped because the FBI, which was under the leadership of then-Director James Comey, were not conducting a legitimate law enforcement investigation. “A crime cannot be established here because there was not, in our view, a legitimate investigation going on,” Barr said. “They did not have a basis for a counterintelligence investigation against Flynn at that stage, based on a perfectly legitimate and appropriate call he made as a member of the transition.”

In his opening monologue on Watters’ World, which was taped Friday but aired Saturday evening, the host said these records could reveal that former President Barack Obama had a significant role in the investigation into the Trump 2016 campaign’s ties to Russia, which President Trump and his allies have deemed a “witch hunt.” “Sources are telling Watters’ World that Attorney General Bill Barr was just given a trove of smoking gun documents that could point directly at former President Barack Obama, revealing his powerful connection to ‘Spygate’ and the Russia hoax,” he said. Watters appeared to be referring to the “satchel” of documents Fox News chief White House correspondent Ed Henry reported that acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell delivered to the Justice Department last week, following the release of House Intelligence Committee witness transcripts showing Obama administration officials admitting they had no direct evidence of Trump-Russia collusion.

Tuesday’s presser was like a feel-good movie ending.
Some liberal hack asked Kayleigh if President Trump’s DOJ is investigating any Obama officials caught up in Obamagate scandal.
Kayleigh responded to the question, dunked on the corrupt Obama regime, closed her book and left the room!
Kayleigh McEnany: “For 3 years the American people were dragged through the mud and told their choice for the President of the United States might have been a Russian asset, based on no evidence at all. This president was exonerated by the Mueller Report. There’s some real questions for some of these individuals who were saying one thing publicly and another thing privately. Thank you so much! “

www.judicialwatch.org/press-releases/hrc-resists/Judicial Watch announced today that it filed amotion in federal court to compel former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to produce the December 2014 after action memorandum created by her personal attorney Heather Samuelson that memorializes the search for and processing of Clinton emails in 2014. Samuelson reviewed Clinton’s State Department emails and about half of them were deleted (Hillary Clinton is also resisting, through an emergency appeal, the court’s order that she testify to Judicial Watch about her emails.) Clinton is resisting producing even a portion of the “after-action” memo, despite an August 22, 2019, ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Royce C. Lamberth that Judicial Watch may ask for the memorandum in its discovery. Clinton refused to produce any part of the memo, alleging that it is fully exempt from disclosure under the “attorney work product doctrine.” In an earlier ruling on a similar issue in this litigation, the Court held that “any contemporaneous documents shedding light on the three narrow discovery topics – even documents evincing attorney impressions, conclusions, opinions, and theories – constitute fact work-product” and should be produced. Judicial Watch explains to the court: “After repeated attempts to resolve this dispute have proven unsuccessful, [Judicial Watch] respectfully requests an order from the Court to compel Secretary Clinton to produce the document … within short order.”

amgreatness.com/2020/05/11/is-obamas-long-history-of-playing-dirty-finally-catching-up-with-him/Is Obama’s Long History of Playing Dirty Finally Catching Up With Him? The unraveling of the Michael Flynn case and ongoing investigation into Obama’s Justice Department should put an end to the preposterous claim that his administration was “scandal-free.” By Julie Kelly • May 11, 2020 s it became clear Mitt Romney would be the Republican presidential nominee in 2012, the Obama campaign fired up its Chicago-style machine to attack the incumbent president’s election foe. Team Obama identified several Romney donors to smear publicly; one was a wealthy businessman from Idaho. A former Democratic Senate staffer, according to a 2012 editorial in the Wall Street Journal, contacted an Idaho courthouse seeking the divorce records of Frank VanderSloot, who had donated $1 million to Romney’s campaign. The operative was traced to a professional opposition research shop based in Washington, D.C. The name of the outfit? Fusion GPS. “Fusion GPS is run by a former Wall Street Journal reporter, Glenn Simpson, who wouldn’t say who is paying him for this high-minded slumming but said in an email that Mr. VanderSloot was a ‘legitimate’ target because of ‘his record on gay issues,’” the Journal wrote. As we now know, that would not be the last time Obama loyalists would hire Fusion GPS to oversee its dirt-digging operation. Nor was it the first time Obama sought to unseal divorce records to ruin a political opponent. Obama’s pathway to winning the Illinois U.S. Senate seat in 2004 was cleared after divorce records of his Democratic primary opponent, who had been in the lead, were made public just weeks before the election. After Obama won the primary, the Chicago Tribune sued to get the divorce settlement of Jack Ryan, Obama’s Republican opponent, unsealed. (Many suspect at the behest of Obama advisor and longtime Tribune columnist David Axelrod.) Embarrassing details sank Ryan’s candidacy and he dropped out of the race. Obama won the seat with 70 percent of the vote. No one wins the presidency without using hardball tactics to get there. Barack Obama is a special case, however, because the media not only covered for him but aided his scorched-earth tactics while he alternated between feigning either innocence or ignorance. This lasted during his two presidential campaigns and eight years in the White House. The same pattern has been playing out the last four years. In May 2016, the Democrats hired Fusion GPS again to destroy Barack Obama’s rival, Donald Trump. But this time, the artillery would involve the world’s most powerful law enforcement agency, a secret court, and the full complicity of the national news media. And as the biggest scandal in American political history has unfolded, Obama’s media accomplices have denied, excused, and/or justified his involvement while desperately creating other scandals to serve as diversions. To date, the former president has not faced one question about what he knew and when he knew it. His vice president, safely bunkered in his home studio away from uninvited media scrutiny, is enjoying the same protection despite Joe Biden’s known participation in the Trump-Russia collusion ruse. Obama’s unmatched political good luck, however, might finally have run out. Fox News Channel’s Ed Henry reported that acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell delivered more secret documents to the Justice Department last week that could prove “Barack Obama knew about a lot of this with Michael Flynn a lot earlier than we know.” That news jives with recent revelations pointing to Obama’s behind-the-scenes management in the targeting of Flynn, a one-time Obama intelligence official who landed on the president’s unforgiving hit list. According to court documents, Obama himself was the source of the leak about the infamous call between Flynn and Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak. In her August 2017 interview with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s lawyers, former acting Attorney General Sally Yates revealed that President Obama notified her about the Flynn-Kislyak call “on January 5, 2017 while in the Oval Office,” the notes detail. That briefing, held for the ostensible purpose of discussing the intelligence community assessment on Russia’s election interference, also included Joe Biden, James Clapper, James Comey, John Brennan, and Susan Rice. “After the briefing, Obama dismissed the group but asked Yates and Comey to stay behind. Obama started by saying he had ‘learned of the information about Flynn’ and his conversation with Kislyak about sanctions,” Yates told investigators. “At that point, Yates had no idea what the president was talking about.” Turns out, Obama and Comey were setting her up to pursue the bogus Logan Act allegations, which she did. Yates’s bombshell is just the latest proof to tie “No Drama” Obama to the collusion hoax. During that same briefing, Comey, Clapper, and Obama discussed how to present the so-called “pee tape” claim in the Steele dossier to President-elect Trump the next day. Comey said Obama raised his eyebrows up and down “like a Groucho Marx thing” when his FBI director explained how he would spook the incoming president with the salacious accusation. Obama’s awareness of Comey’s activities, in fact, can be traced back months before Election Day. The report by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz confirmed that Comey discussed the counterintelligence probe of the Trump campaign with Obama in the Oval Office sometime in August 2016. (Rice, Clapper, and Brennan also attended that same meeting.) And of course, we already know, thanks to texts between FBI lovers Peter Strzok and Lisa Page in the summer of 2016, that the “White House is running this,” and the “[president of the United States] wants to know everything we are doing.” This overwhelming and shocking evidence, however, has been of no interest to marquee media organizations such as CNN and the New York Times while a handful of conservative outlets, including American Greatness, and anonymous Twitter accounts have done the heavy lifting. But it seems like Obama might be getting a little nervous. Yahoo News reporter Michael Isikoff, the same dutiful Democratic Party scribe that published the first dossier-sourced article about the FBI’s interest in Carter Page, posted a “leaked” tape of the former president complaining about the Flynn case. “The news over the last 24 hours I think has been somewhat downplayed, about the Justice Department dropping charges against Michael Flynn,” Obama is heard saying. “That’s the kind of stuff where you begin to get worried that basic—not just institutional norms—but our basic understanding of rule of law is at risk. And when you start moving in those directions, it can accelerate pretty quickly as we’ve seen in other places.” Obama’s attempted damage control could be coming too late for him. Trump spent most of the weekend suggesting on Twitter and in interviews that the wagons are circling around his predecessor. “He got caught, Obamagate!” the president tweeted Sunday. The hashtag #ObamaGate dominated Twitter for most of Sunday into Monday. But Obama and his cronies have more to worry about than Trump’s mean tweets. U.S. Attorney John Durham is moving “full throttle” on his criminal investigation into Obama Administration officials, according to Fox News. Durham’s inquiry is so far-reaching that other U.S. attorneys now are involved. “They farmed the investigation out because it is too much for Durham and he didn’t want to be distracted,” said one source. It could be that Obama’s arrogance and sense of political invincibility, bolstered by years of media swooning, finally has caught up with the one-time community organizer. The unraveling of the Flynn case and continued investigation into Obama’s Justice Department will put an end to the preposterous claim that his administration is “scandal-free.” Quite to the contrary, the history books will have to tell the story of the most scandal-ridden presidential administration of all time—and it won’t be Donald Trump’s.

Lindsey Graham being himself: www.politico.com/news/2020/05/11/senate-republicans-trump-obamagate-249734President Donald Trump’s aggressive campaign to encourage sweeping investigations of his predecessor Barack Obama met a unanimous response from Senate Republicans: No thanks.
Trump’s Senate allies on Monday stopped short of echoing Trump’s claim that Obama acted illegally when the Justice Department began probing incoming national security adviser Michael Flynn in late 2016. And they indicated that the Senate would pass on investigating the former president as they conduct their own investigations that could soon ensnare other senior Obama administration officials.
“I’m not anticipating calling President Obama,” said Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), whose panel is investigating the origins of the 2016 Russia investigation, even as he vowed to bring in former senior Obama administration officials as witnesses. Those ex-officials include former FBI Director James Comey and former acting Attorney General Sally Yates.
“I think the president’s got a real good reason to be upset with the Obama people,” Graham said.

www.nationalreview.com/2020/05/dont-shrug-at-obamas-michael-flynn-scandal/Don’t Shrug at Obama’s Michael Flynn Scandal By KYLE SMITH May 12, 2020 5:01 PM It sure seems like an unconscionable attempt to take out a political enemy with state power. How would President Obama be reacting to the collapse of the case against Michael Flynn if Flynn were a black teen? Picture a racist white FBI agent who hates a black student and became enraged when that teen publicly insulted one of the agent’s close friends. Say the FBI sends two guys over to the teen’s house, claiming it suspects him of being involved in drug trafficking, and starts asking the kid questions in hopes that the kid will lie. TOP ARTICLES 2/5 READ MORE Ezekiel Emanuel Wants to Control Your Health Care Suppose the FBI does not read the kid his rights before questioning him. Suppose the FBI discourages the kid from hiring a lawyer and tells the kid its investigation is friendly, not an effort to incriminate him. Suppose further that the FBI, after grilling the kid, still doesn’t think he lied (but merely that he forgot details of things he’d been asked about). Suppose the FBI then dragged out the case so long that the kid rang up $5 million in legal bills, then threatened to arrest the kid’s mother. Suppose the FBI withheld exculpatory evidence from the kid’s lawyers and agreed to leave the kid’s mother alone if he pleaded guilty — but didn’t tell the judge about this side deal. If the teen finally pleaded guilty to a single count of making false statements, would Obama then say, “Aha! Justice is served! The kid admits being guilty!”? If the prosecutors, years later, finally dropped the case against the kid, would Obama say, “You begin to get worried that basic — not just institutional norms — but our basic understanding of rule of law is at risk” because he thought the kid deserved everything that had happened to him? All of the above is pretty much exactly what happened to Michael Flynn. Except the team that went after Michael Flynn didn’t hate him because of racial difference; they hated him because of political difference. The personal insult Flynn delivered was when he publicly went after Hillary Clinton, leading the cries to “Lock her up” at the Republican National Convention. The FBI did indeed fail to advise Flynn that they were targeting him rather than seeking information about phone calls with the Russian ambassador that they had already listened to. They discouraged him from having a lawyer present and didn’t read him anything like the Miranda warning. They did indeed pour so much trouble on Flynn that he amassed some $5 million in legal bills (and had to put his house up for sale). They didn’t initially think that he had lied, but merely had a faulty memory. Instead of threatening his mother, the FBI threatened to indict his son, and someone leaked this to the media so that Flynn’s son’s reputation would be damaged in any event. And the FBI did indeed withhold exculpatory evidence from Flynn’s lawyers. NOW WATCH: 'Trump says Michael Flynn was Tormented by 'Dirty Cops'' WATCH: 0:49 Trump says Michael Flynn was Tormented by 'Dirty Cops' The effort to nail Flynn fell under the heading of counterintelligence rather than a criminal case, but either way the state must have a legitimate suspicion of underlying wrongdoing before it can start harassing someone. The Obama administration did not have a legitimate basis for going after Flynn, and it’s obvious they didn’t because of two words that are the political equivalent of “That’s what she said” — an old punchline called the Logan Act. No one has ever been convicted under the Logan Act because the Logan Act is pure bushwa. Everyone in politics knows this. Everyone who merely follows politics from the outside knows this. I know this, and I never spent a day in law school. Do you seriously think lawyer and former FBI director James Comey didn’t know this, or former constitutional law lecturer and president Barack Obama didn’t know this? The discussion between the two of them in the White House on January 5, 2017 about going after Flynn under the Logan Act because he talked to the Russian ambassador does not pass the laugh test. When someone says, “Let’s indict someone under the Logan Act,” he might as well be saying, “Let’s indict someone under the Abracadabra Act.” If the Logan Act were a functioning law, someone would have been convicted under it at some point in the 200 years since it was passed. And Jane Fonda, Dennis Rodman, Jimmy Carter, and John Kerry all would have been busted under it. Moreover, all of these people, unlike Michael Flynn, were not the incoming National Security Adviser whose job it is to do things like talk to the Russian ambassador. Constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley notes, “the use of the Logan Act against the incoming national security adviser would have been not only patently unconstitutional but positively ludicrous.” A country that respects “the rule of law” has to respect the rule of having a good reason to go after somebody. If there’s no legitimate cause to suspect the target of anything, the state could come after anybody for any reason — because an investigator is racist, sexist, hates Latinos, hates gays, or just has a personal vendetta. The “rule of law” is meaningless if the state sets about nailing somebody on a phony pretext, hoping the process of investigation will cause some crime such as perjury or obstruction to occur. It’s a terrible affront to “the rule of law” when the law is misused to target an innocent black teenager. But the affront is much worse when it’s a high-ranking public official who gets targeted. The attack on Flynn was an attempt to delegitimize and undercut the lawfully elected Trump administration to aid the prospects of the Democratic Party. This attempt was extremely successful; the Democrats’ media arm, otherwise known as the media, spent nearly three years promoting the bogus theory that the administration and/or Trump himself had carried out illegal acts of collusion with the Russians. Our political press is remarkably incurious about tracing the chain of motives when it comes to questionable doings by Democrats, but suspecting Obama of being behind the persecution of Michael Flynn is pretty easy when you remember the backstory of these two men’s relationship. Flynn, a registered Democrat, had worked for President Obama as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency for two years, Obama fired him, then Flynn publicly shamed Obama by blasting his ISIS strategy and saying his Iran Deal was terrible. Recall that Obama ran the tightest ship of any president in modern history, demanding and receiving the utmost level of loyalty: Essentially no major leakers damaged his presidency. No one close to him ever published a tell-all memoir undermining him. Then Flynn came along. Obama must have been incensed to see his former official tearing him apart on Fox News, then going full MAGA with his histrionics at the Republican convention, where Flynn was the only major Obama-administration turncoat to speak on Trump’s behalf, and gave perhaps the nastiest speech of the entire affair. It irked Obama that Flynn might wind up on top, with a plum position in the Trump administration. But Obama couldn’t undermine Flynn by starting a PR campaign against him because the position of national-security adviser doesn’t require cabinet confirmation. So Obama tried to talk Trump out of hiring Flynn. It must have been painful for Obama to beg for a favor from his worst enemy in order to sabotage another enemy, so he couched the request as friendly advice, as though Obama had any friendly feelings toward Trump. When this failed, Obama’s mind perhaps turned to finding a backdoor means of taking out Flynn. Did Obama break any laws? Maybe not. Was he part of an unconscionable effort to weaponize the police powers of the state against a political enemy? It sure looks that way. How else do you explain that Comey and Obama just casually discussed using the obviously phony pretext of the Logan Act for going after Flynn in the January 5, 2017 meeting while Sally Yates, the deputy attorney general, sat there in amazement that her own supposed underling, Comey, would cook up something so obviously bogus and politically explosive as this case without telling her? Put it this way: Knowing of Obama’s interest in these matters, is it plausible that the FBI acted as it did without his approval? If the media were one-tenth as interested in Obama scandals as they are in those relating to Trump, it would be shouting from the rooftops that the real Russia-collusion scandal was the effort to gin up a fake scandal to either damage Trump politically or take him out. As it is, most of the media’s response to the Flynn-Obama debacle has been boredom, shrugging and whataboutism: As Brian Stelter groused on CNN, right-wingers are “treating the Michael Flynn story like it’s a bigger deal than the deaths of 2,000 Americans a day.” You’d think someone who works at a 24/7 media company would understand that more than one story can be hugely important.

www.nationalreview.com/corner/random-flynn-thoughts/Three Flynn Thoughts By ANDREW C. MCCARTHY May 12, 2020 10:37 AM There is lots of Flynn chatter today. Three quick points: 1. As I explain in a piece at The Hill today, I understand why the Justice Department relied on a legal argument — viz., lack of materiality — for moving to dismiss the case against Michael Flynn. It spares DOJ the need to get into the facts of the case which, to put it mildly, are unflattering to the FBI and prosecutors. Nevertheless, the best reason to dismiss the Flynn case is that the government would not be able to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt in court. The evidence is equivocal, the witnesses have profound credibility problems — and those witnesses actually thought Flynn was not lying to them. TOP ARTICLES 1/5 READ MORE ‘National Conservatives’ Shouldn’t Be So Quick to Dismiss Hayek The issue for the Justice Department is not whether Flynn made misstatements to Vice President Pence and other administration officials; it is whether prosecutors are in a position to carry their burden of proof that Flynn willfully lied to the interviewing agents. On the evidence as we understand it, I do not believe a jury would be confident even that they knew exactly what statements Flynn made, much less whether his statements were intentionally false rather than honest failures of recollection. 2. It is repeatedly claimed in the reporting that James Comey, then the FBI director, withheld information about the Flynn-Kislyak conversations from Sally Yates, then the acting attorney general, even though President Obama had clearly been briefed on it by the time of the White House meeting on the morning of January 5, 2017. That is not true. Mary McCord, then-chief of DOJ’s National Intelligence Division, has explained that Comey’s deputy, Andrew McCabe, informed her of the Flynn-Kislyak conversations on January 3. At that point, McCord should have briefed her superior, Yates, and she planned to do just that — on the afternoon of January 5. When people are very busy, this is the kind of screw-up that frequently happens. I’m betting McCord did not realize her boss was meeting with the president that morning; or, if she was aware, she did not realize Flynn was on the agenda. But the fact remains: The FBI did inform DOJ at a very high level. 3. There is also some ah-hah! talk today along the lines of “See, Obama knew all along — he was in on it!” This misses the point. As I’ve been trying to explain for years, the Trump-Russia investigation (including its threads, like the Flynn investigation) was a counterintelligence probe. The purpose of the FBI’s counterintelligence mission is to provide information to the president in support of his constitutional mission to protect the United States from foreign threats. There is nothing wrong with President Obama’s knowing about a counterintelligence investigation. In fact, if the FBI truly believed a candidate for the presidency was in an espionage conspiracy with the Kremlin, there would be something profoundly wrong if the president were not kept informed. It would be expected that the president would give his subordinates direction. The issue has never been whether Obama knew — of course he knew. The issue is what exactly was it that he knew about. That is, was this a good faith investigation based on real evidence that Trump’s campaign was conspiring with the Kremlin, or was it partisan political spying and sabotage carried out under the guise of counterintelligence? Remember, by the time President Obama, Vice President Biden, and National Security Adviser Susan Rice met with Comey and Yates on January 5, the Obama Justice Department and the FBI had already told the FISA court, under oath, that there was solid reason to suspect the Trump campaign was conspiring with the Putin regime. The first FISA warrant (obtained in October 2016) was about to expire, and the DOJ and FBI were preparing to go back to the FISA court and reaffirm those representations. Meanwhile, the Obama administration was unmasking the identities of Trump associates in intelligence reporting. It was running confidential informants at Trump campaign members. If a president’s top subordinates were taking such serious actions in a counterintelligence investigation — one involving the president-elect of the United States and a powerful, hostile, foreign adversary — it would be a scandal if the president were not informed and involved.

The DOJ tossed it back to DNI Ric Grenell to release the unmasking list himself.
On Tuesday Sidney Powell told Lou Dobbs DNI Grenell MUST release the unmasking list. The list includes who likely leaked the transcript of General Flynn’s call with the Russian Ambassador during the Transition period. According to Powell this was a felony.
Let’s hope Ric Grenell acts and releases the list soon.

dailycaller.com/2020/05/12/president-obama-middle-michael-flynn-case-rand-paul/Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul said Tuesday that he believes former President Barack Obama likely gave the order to investigate Michael Flynn, the former national security adviser. Paul spoke with Fox News host Martha MacCallum about Judge Emmet Sullivan’s decision to delay Flynn’s case after Attorney General William Barr called for it to be dismissed. (RELATED: Critics Cheer Neighbor-Felon Who Cracked Rand Paul’s Ribs After Roberts Nixes His Question) WATCH: “I think the government made a big mistake bringing these charges against General Flynn and we never should have been listening to his phone call and shouldn’t have been trying to entrap him into or create a crime,” Paul began. They never thought he committed any crime, they brought him in to try to create a crime. What a terrible travesty of justice.” Paul went on to say that he was working hard to make sure the federal government does not have the power to do that to anyone else. “Do you think that it is right to let the American people know who decided to unmask General Flynn from those phone call transcripts?” MacCallum asked. “Absolutely. And I don’t think anything like this could have happened without President Obama,” Paul replied. “I completely believe that not only did he know, and others have already said that he knew about the conversation, he knew about trying to go after General Flynn and it was being directed from the White House, so I have every expectation that President Obama is in the middle of this.” Paul went on to say that the sensitive nature of the investigation made it obvious to him that Obama would have to at least know about it. “I really, strongly believe that President Obama gave specific and direct oversight and direct permission for this. Think about it,” he said, adding, “The media have treated President Obama with kid gloves. Someone needs to ask him directly ‘Did you approve of Operation Crossfire Hurricane?’ I think the answer is yes.”
