amp.dailycaller.com/2018/05/22/manaforts-lawyers-mueller-leaker/A senior assistant to Special Counsel Robert Mueller is facing allegations he leaked information to reporters concerning the Russian collusion investigation, according to a Monday court filing. Defense attorney Kevin Downing officially leveled the leaking allegation against key Mueller deputy Andrew Weissmann as part of a new legal offensive against Mueller’s indictment of Paul Manafort, who served briefly as Trump’s campaign manager. Downing charges that a flood of media leaks has prevented his client from getting a fair trial. Downing asked presiding federal Judge T.S. Ellis III on April 30 to convene a hearing on media leaks. The judge has yet to rule on the request. In the latest filing, Downing charged that a senior Justice Department official — identified as Weissmann in exhibits attached to the filing — briefed Associated Press reporters in spring 2017, which led to four breaking stories about the government’s investigation into alleged Trump-Russian collusion and Manafort. “There is strong evidence that the highest-level FBI and intelligence officials authorized leaks to the press and, in fact, leaked themselves,” Manafort’s filing asserted. According to the filing, a “senior Justice Department prosecutor” met with the AP reporters “last spring to discuss an investigation into Paul Manafort’s financial records, a day before the wire service published a major exposé disclosing alleged money laundering made by the former and now-embattled Trump campaign chairman.” Manafort’s attorneys finger Weissmann as the leaker to the AP. ecf.vaed.uscourts.gov/doc1/18918833119www.scribd.com/upload-document

www.dailywire.com/news/30912/obama-admin-officials-coordinated-set-trump-new-ryan-saavedra?ampObama Admin Officials Coordinated Set Up Of Trump, New Evidence Suggests by RYAN SAAVEDRA May 22, 2018 The Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs released new emails on Monday night that allegedly show that Obama administration officials coordinated with each other to help CNN run a damaging story on President-elect Donald Trump based on salacious and unverified information contained in a politically motivated dossier financed by Trump's political enemies. The emails, obtained by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), show that the Obama-era officials used coded language to refer to the Steele dossier. The following timeline of events and communications were in the committee's letter: 1. January 6, 2017, 9:44 a.m. FBI Chief of Staff Jim sent an email to unspecified recipients stating, "the director is coming into HQ briefly now for an update from the sensitive matter team." 2. January 6, 2017, afternoon. Director Comey met with President-elect Trump. 3. January 7, 2017. Director Comey memorialized his discussion with President-elect Trump via an email to senior FBI leadership. Director Comey wrote, "I said there was something that Clapper wanted me to speak to PE [President Elect] about alone or in a very small group." Director Comey wrote, "I then executed the sessions exactly as I had planned," and "I said media like CNN had them and were looking for a news hook." 4. January 8, 2017, 12:08 p.m. Then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe sent an email to senior FBI leadership with the subject line "Flood is coming." Mr. McCabe wrote, "CNN is close to going forward with the sensitive story... The trigger for them [CNN] is they know the material was discussed in the brief and presented in an attachment." 5. January 8, 2017, 12:55 p.m. Mr. McCabe emailed then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates and then-Principal Deputy Attorney General Matthew Axelrod with the subject line "News." Mr. McCabe wrote, "Just an FYI, and as expected, it seems CNN is close to running a story about the sensitive reporting." Two days later on January 10, 2017, CNN ran the story about the unverified and salacious allegations made in the anti-Trump dossier with BuzzFeed publishing the dossier within a couple hours of CNN's report. The Federalist's Sean Davis writes: To date, there is no public evidence that the FBI ever investigated the leaks to media about the briefing between Trump and Comey. When asked in a recent interview by Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier, Comey scoffed at the idea that the FBI would even need to investigate the leak of a secret briefing with the incoming president.

Unbelievable. I'm just glad that we can now start investigations into the Dems actions "to protect them." Thanks for that line of logic, Wapo! Absolute morons.... Remember when it was "they didnt spy on Trump!" Now its, "they did it to protect him!" Stories coming out now that it was multiple agencies with moles in the Trump campaign. Lock. Them. Up. Presidential campaigns (any campaigns?) will never be the same. Innocence lost.

This is cold war/Russia shit using State sponsored Pravda machine.
I recall railing against USSR in cold war with all their checkpoints and controlling citizens using state news. And now the Dems have adopted Russian tactics with this current scandal of trying to steal an election.
Folks, we had an attempted coup of America. No way to minimize it. This should rock every person at their soul if a true American. Having free elections is one of the core freedoms we enjoy (enjoyed?)!
Fuck me, the Dems have about ruined our country and what it stands for. Thank God for Trump. The “only” person who could have prevented it.

We shouldn't be surprised that they would adopt their tactics as well.

www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/when-did-trump-russia-probe-begin-investigators-focus-on-mystery-monthsBut now comes word of the FBI informant, described in various accounts as a retired American professor living in England. The Washington Post reported that, "The professor's interactions with Trump advisers began a few weeks before the opening of the investigation, when Page met the professor at the British symposium." A few weeks before the opening of the investigation — those are the words that have raised eyebrows among Hill investigators. If it was before the investigation, then what was an FBI informant doing gathering undercover information when there was not yet an investigation? The question has pointed investigators back to the issue of when the probe began — not when a piece of paper was formally signed but when the FBI, and perhaps other U.S. intelligence agencies, began investigating the Trump campaign. And that has taken them back to March 21, 2016, when candidate Donald Trump met with the editorial board of the Washington Post. At the time of that meeting, Trump had been under criticism for not having the sort of lists of distinguished advisers that most top-level campaigns routinely assemble. That was particularly true in the area of foreign policy. A frustrated Trump ordered his team to compile a list of foreign-affairs advisers.

www.nytimes.com/2018/05/22/nyregion/michael-cohen-trump-taxi-cooperation.htmlA significant business partner of Michael D. Cohen, President Trump’s personal lawyer, has quietly agreed to cooperate with the government as a potential witness, a development that could be used as leverage to pressure Mr. Cohen to work with the special counsel examining Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Under the agreement, the partner, Evgeny A. Freidman, a Russian immigrant who is known as the Taxi King, will avoid jail time, and will assist government prosecutors in state or federal investigations, according to a person briefed on the matter.

amp.dailycaller.com/2018/05/22/sarah-sanders-secret-russia-briefing/White House press secretary Sarah Sanders bluntly explained Tuesday why congressional Democrats were not invited to a top secret meeting about the Russia investigation. In a tense exchange, Sanders forcefully told New York Times reporter Michael Shear that Democrats would not be “randomly invited” to a meeting they did not ask to be at. “I would refer you back to [Democrats] on why they would consider themselves randomly invited to see something they have never asked to,” she said. Sanders was describing a meeting being set up for congressional and intelligence leaders to review top secret documents pertaining to the Russia investigation. WATCH: “Can you say what specific documents the lawmakers will see? The chairman has requested all documents. Will he see them?” The Hill’s Jordan Fabian asked Sanders. “That’s something that you have to ask the Department of Justice,” Sanders said. (RELATED: Devin Nunes: If DOJ Has Nothing To Hide, ‘Show Us The Documents’) Shear asked a follow up, asking “why no Democrats would be at that meeting if the White House is putting it together?” “The Democrats say it’s inappropriate to have a meeting set up with just Republicans and the Justice Department,” he complained, “Would the white House welcome Democrats to be there?” “My understanding isn’t they haven’t been the one requesting the information,” Sanders said. When the reporter asked if the White House is “brokering a deal” between the Justice Department and GOP congressional leaders, Sarah snapped. “To my knowledge, the Democrats have not requested that information. So I would refer you back to them on why they would consider themselves randomly invited to see something they have never asked to.”

Sam Clovis: I really believe that is what his task was to create an audit trail back to those emails from someone in the campaign or someone associated with the campaign so that they could build a stronger case of probable cause to continue to issue warrants and to further an investigation. I really felt after hearing all these other things and listening to the reports that I read that this truly was an effort to build something that did not exist. And I really think that is what his mission was.
