Hmmm, who didn’t see this one coming? www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/coronavirus-gordon-brown-calls-for-new-global-government-to-fight-impact-of-covid-19/ar-BB11JU79Former prime minister Gordon Brown has called for the creation of a temporary form of global government to be assembled to provide a unified body to tackle coronavirus. Such an organisation could tackle the spread of the virus, coordinate production and distribution of essential equipment, and help deal with the economic fallout from the pandemic, he said. Mr Brown’s suggestion comes ahead of an emergency video conference of the G20 countries, which even before it has begun has already seen a standoff between the US and China over responsibility for the virus. The summit, hosted by Saudi Arabia, is designed to produce new practical measures to deal with the disease, but a coordinated fiscal response to the crisis is not expected to be agreed. Read more2/6 Mr Brown said the summit also ought to include the United Nations security council. That would insure that the problem is never solved

Stunning reversal here as well: www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMe2002387On the basis of a case definition requiring a diagnosis of pneumonia, the currently reported case fatality rate is approximately 2%.4 In another article in the Journal, Guan et al.5 report mortality of 1.4% among 1099 patients with laboratory-confirmed Covid-19; these patients had a wide spectrum of disease severity. If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%. This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively.2

I’m starting to notice a pattern here: Michigan Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer is the latest Democrat to ban doctors from prescribing the lifesaving drugs hydroxychloroquine and Z-Paks to save senior citizens in the state. Hydroxychloroquine is safe and has tested 100% positive in treating the coronavirus. Whitmer follows Nevada’s Democrat Governor Sisolak in banning the life-saving drugs from coronavirus victims. www.detroitnews.com/story/opinion/2020/03/26/opinion-michigans-doctors-fight-coronavirus-and-governors-office/2922272001/If you live in Michigan, and you or a loved one is infected with this potentially lethal disease, you’re out of luck. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs literally threatened all doctors and pharmacists in the state who prescribe or dispense hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19. The agency’s March 24 letter warns physicians and pharmacists of professional consequences for the prescribing of hydroxychloroquine (and chloroquine). Beyond the rational recommendation against hoarding as production of this medication needs to be ramped up, the letter deviates into open threats of “administrative action” against the licenses of doctors that prescribe hydroxychloroquine. The letter also instructs pharmacists to ignore physician orders for this medication. Due to the debate over a pharmacist’s right to refuse to fill medications that go against their religious beliefs, this could place pharmacists in the unprecedented position of being told that they must fill prescriptions that violate their “conscience (religious belief)” but must not fill prescriptions to treat COVID-19. Read more5/6 Even worse, the letter indicates health care providers are “required to report” their fellow physicians who are prescribing these medications. This draconian measure carries ominous Gestapo-like overtones of neighbor reporting neighbor to “authorities.”

CNN host Brianna Keilar on Thursday abruptly ended the segment when Trump advisor Peter Navarro blamed China for the Wuhan Coronavirus.
CNN doesn’t want to upset the ChiComs.
“We all as a country got dealt a bad hand by China,” Navarro said.
Brianna Keilar snapped.
“Uh, Peter! That is just a waste of time to say that,” Keilar said throwing her hands up. “I’m going to leave it there Peter Navarro.”
Navarro tried to interject, but Brianna Keilar abruptly ended the segment saying, “that’s just ridiculous.”
How dare Trump’s trade advisor speak the truth!

On Thursday, while answering questions with President Trump and the rest of the White House coronavirus task force, Dr. Deborah Birx admitted that the initial coronavirus death estimates were too extreme.
Dr. Birx: “The predictions of the models don’t match the reality on the ground in either China, South Korea, or Italy. We’re about 5 times the size of Italy. If we were Italy, and you did those divisions, Italy should have close to 400,000 deaths. They’re not close to achieving that.”

thefederalist.com/2020/03/27/media-peddle-bogus-wuhan-virus-stats-to-bash-america/Media Peddle Bogus Wuhan Virus Stats To Bash America Many in the media enthusiastically relish the claim that the United States has more people infected with the coronavirus than China does, even though China's numbers are unreliable. Mollie Hemingway By Mollie Hemingway MARCH 27, 2020 When Donald Trump tweeted this week that the United States had performed more coronavirus tests than any other country, the media were upset. Trump being Trump, he’d also said the United States had done more tests in eight days than South Korea had done in eight weeks. PolitiFact calculated the United States had done 17,582 fewer tests than South Korea during that time period. LiveScience said the United States had done 43,790 fewer tests than South Korea during that time period. Their own disparity notwithstanding, other media outlets pointed out merely that South Korea is a much smaller country than the United States. That meant they had done more tests per capita than the United States had. “Trump overlooks a huge piece of context,” a USA Today fact check said. CNN went with “Fact Check: US has done more coronavirus tests than South Korea, but not per person.” MSNBC ran a segment with a graph asserting that “The U.S. Trails Other Countries In Number Of Other Coronavirus Tests Conducted Per Million People.” The segment is utterly wild, incidentally. You can watch it here, but while Mika Brzezinski moans and grunts in agreement, Joe Scarborough accuses the president of “lying” and says you have to adjust for population because of “science.” As if speaking to Trump, he says, “This is science. I don’t know … maybe you didn’t take … science at whatever school your daddy got you into. I don’t know. But this is just science.” While the media have been doing a demonstrably bad job covering the coronavirus and the administration — and have the sinking poll numbers to prove it — this is a good point. Numbers should be placed in context. Comparing countries of different size by aggregate numbers isn’t particularly helpful. Yet that’s what happens all the time. For example, just a couple of hours after Scarborough’s “science” rant, his colleague Chuck Todd began his show by comparing the United States’s coronavirus cases with Italy’s, even though the United States has a much larger population, and the number of cases has something to do with the number of tests being conducted, and the United States has conducted more tests than any other country has: CNN, which just days ago praised the need for per capita comparisons, tweeted this last night: Italy is much smaller than the United States, China is much bigger. Speaking of China and their reported cases, there is also the issue of the quality of China’s reporting. China claims that it arrested the spread of the virus overnight a few weeks ago. It skyrocketed up to 80,000 cases and then just stopped spreading in China and began spreading everywhere else in the world. Even with their draconian measures of welding people into their apartments, forbidding travel, electronic surveillance of the affected, and other measures, these numbers are impossible to believe. As Jeryl Bier points out, the last paragraph of a New York Times article is reported credulously when it shouldn’t be: “China’s National Health Commission said earlier on Thursday that all 67 new coronavirus cases officially reported across the country on Wednesday were people who had been infected overseas, as were all 47 reported the previous day.” As the reported cases in the United States surpassed the reported cases in China — not difficult to do given China’s very low quality of reporting and the fact that the United States is doing more testing than any other country — media were sure to trumpet the numbers: Yet many in the media don’t just believe them but enthusiastically relish the claim that the United States has more people infected with the coronavirus than China does. Joe “Science Means You Have To Always Do Per Capita Comparisons” Scarborough weighed in: Many media figures gave Chinese propagandists a run for their money. Here, frequent CNN guest Julia Ioffe said, of a country that is full of public health officials and doctors working valiantly to tackle a global epidemic, that it is a “s—hole” country. Julia, you might recall, has had a rough couple of years, including tweeting her speculative fantasies about Trump involving incest, falling hard for debunked Russia collusion hoaxes, and being pretty sure she’d figured out an elaborate Russian plot regarding Hunter Biden’s indiscretions. Ioffe’s fellow Russia collusion hoax promoter Benjamin Wittes was similarly excited by the increase in recorded cases of the deadly virus among his fellow Americans: Again, sounding like Communist Chinese propagandists, media outlet The Verge renamed the Wuhan Virus the American Virus on account of U.S. testing and results: Nobody in the media has explained why they accept the Communist Chinese government’s reported numbers despite their track record. As for whether to report numbers that are or are not controlled for population, even that metric can be lacking. For instance, while Washington state had the earlier significant outbreak of the novel Chinese Coronavirus, New York is experiencing much worse spread. Further, in the United States of America, each state has the right to respond differently to the outbreak. It is more worthwhile to compare by city. Not everyone was bad on this point. The Washington Examiner’s Phil Klein put many of the global numbers in context for his article, “US does not have close to the most coronavirus cases when adjusted for population.” Also, credit to Jim Geraghty for his ongoing skepticism of Communist Chinese propaganda. To compare country statistics by population, you can go to this page at Real Clear Politics. www.realclearpolitics.com/coronavirus/

Last week American hedge fund boss Bill Ackman created a panic by urging President Trump to shut down the borders, “Hell is coming!” During his interview with CNBC Ackman created panic by pushing the lie that the virus kills 1-2% of people and 3-4% of people in China. He told CNBC in a shaky voice that, “This thing can spread everywhere!… 50% of the world is going to get infected! I just rolled this thing forward and said it’s just a matter of time!” Bill Ackman also posted several horrified tweets about the coronavirus. Now we know he was betting against the markets — while pushing an end of the world scenario on Twitter and TV. Bill Ackman announced today he made $2.6 billion from a one-off bet that the coronavirus would cause a global panic. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8154857/US-hedge-fund-scoops-2-6bn-initial-27m-bet-coronavirus-crash-global-markets.htmlAmerican hedge fund boss Bill Ackman has made $2.6 billion by betting against the markets just days after stoking fears by saying ‘hell is coming’ and begging President Donald Trump to shut down the country amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Pershing Square Capital Management hedge fund manager said his firm had made $2.6billion from a one-off bet that the coronavirus outbreak would cause a global market crash. His firm seized upon bond market turmoil during the coronavirus crisis in buying ‘credit protection on various global investment grade and high-yield credit indices’. The bet, which was designed to protect Pershing Square Capital Management from falling stock markets triggered by the pandemic, saw his firm make almost 100 times its initial $27million investment. The firm completed the transaction on March 23. The enormous return came barely a week after Ackman gave an emotional television interview claiming ‘hell is coming’ for American business. Ackman told CNBC on March 18 that ‘hell is coming’. He urged American business to stop share buybacks and to preserve cash. ‘America will end as we know it. I’m sorry to say so, unless we take this option,’ he warned.

www.businessinsider.com/covid-19-los-angeles-to-shelter-in-place-for-months-2020-3Los Angeles residents will be confined to their homes until May at the earliest, Mayor Eric Garcetti told Insider on Wednesday. “I think this is at least two months,” he said. “And be prepared for longer.” In an interview with Insider, Garcetti pushed back against “premature optimism” in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, saying leaders who suggest we are on the verge of business as usual are putting lives at risk. “I can’t say that strongly enough,” the mayor said. Optimism, he said, has to be grounded in data. And right now the data is not good. “Giving people false hope will crush their spirits and will kill more people,” Garcetti said, adding it would change their actions by instilling a sense of normality at the most abnormal time in a generation. “This will not kill most of us,” he said. “It will kill a lot more people than we’re used to dying around us.”

www.dailywire.com/news/when-adjusted-for-population-u-s-currently-trails-at-least-six-other-nations-in-number-of-coronavirus-cases-report-saysWhen Adjusted For Population, U.S. Currently Trails At Least Six Other Nations In Number Of Coronavirus Cases, Report Says On Thursday, many news reports trumpeted that the United States had become the nation with the most reported cases of the coronavirus, but they ignored an essential fact; among major countries which one can assume are offering valid statistics, when adjusted for population, the United States trails many other countries in the number of cases. It is true that the United States may be behind many other nations as to when the coronavirus took hold. As Philip Klein of the Washington Examiner notes, “Furthermore, not all countries have the same metrics for reporting cases, nor do they all test at the same rate or administer tests with the same reliability.” And nations such as China and Iran are not known for their transparency. Using the raw case counts from the Johns Hopkins University database for the top 10 countries on Thursday, Klein explained, “So, for instance, on a raw basis, there are 83,507 reported cases of the coronavirus in the U.S., compared with 80,589 in Italy. But the U.S. has about 5.5 times the population of Italy. If Italy were scaled up to the U.S. population, it would have the equivalent of 443,237 cases.” The statistics for 10 nations, (including Iran and China, which may be far from accurate) read like this, according to Klein: Switzerland: 457,683 Italy: 443,239 Spain: 405,731 Germany: 174,693 France: 147,030 Iran: 118,341 United States: 83,507 United Kingdom: 59,045 South Korea: 58,644 China: 19,882 The New York Times reported on Thursday that Agata Gostynska-Jakubowska of the Center for European Reform in Brussels insisted the problems in Europe from the coronavirus were exacerbated by a lack of coordination among member countries of the European union, stating, “We need to be pretty honest and say that the initial E.U. response was chaotic and belated,” that after the problems with the coronavirus developed in Italy, “member states took center stage while the commission and other E.U. institutions were rather absent, and the harm was done, playing into the hands of Euroskeptics.’’ Daniela Schwarzer, director of the German Council on Foreign Relations in Berlin, echoed, “There is still a huge risk to the union. All the disintegrative tendencies can accelerate.’’ An advisor to French president Emmanuel Macron sniped at the United States, “Mistakes were made for sure, there was some flip-flopping, hesitations, but that’s the case everywhere in the world. When we see what’s going on in the United States today, Europe is not the continent that’s the least organized.” Although the European Union wants its member nations to help each other, it has also restricted travel from other nations into its area; as The New York Times reported last week: The European Union banned nonessential travel from outside the bloc into 26 nations stretching from Portugal to Finland, home to more than 400 million people, for 30 days, as Europe’s leaders grudgingly, belatedly accepted that being at the heart of a global pandemic and trying to fight it will mean severe social and economic hardship. British Prime Minister acknowledged this week, “The numbers are very stark, and they are accelerating. We are only a matter of weeks — two or three — behind Italy

thefederalist.com/2020/03/27/sanctuary-cities-that-rejected-federal-law-are-now-pleading-for-federal-help/‘Sanctuary’ Cities That Rejected Federal Law Are Now Pleading For Federal Help MARCH 27, 2020 By Tristan Justice Localities that declared themselves “Sanctuary Cities” to reject federal law and coordination in order to harbor illegal immigrants are now begging for federal help in the face of the Wuhan virus pandemic. New York City, which has become the epicenter of the Wuhan virus outbreak in the United States, is seeing a surging case load overwhelm its hospitals. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security warned Thursday that the situation has become so dire the city’s morgues are reaching capacity. Hospitals are stretched thin with dwindling supplies as New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and the state’s governor Andrew Cuomo plead for resources from the feds, all while skirting immigration laws as a sanctuary state and city. Last week, Mayor de Blasio urged President Donald Trump to dispatch the military as the cases began to surge, but simultaneously taking the crisis opportunity to criticize the president. “The fate of New York City rests in the hands of one. He is a New Yorker. And right now, he is betraying the city he comes from,” de Blasio said, never mind that the mayor’s own lackluster response likely exacerbated the problem by encouraging New Yorkers to go to the movies and hesitating to close schools as the virus was blowing up. De Blasio demanded 15,000 ventilators, 3 million N95 masks, 50 surgical masks, and 25 million surgical gowns, coveralls, and pairs of gloves in addition to mobilizing the military. Gov. Cuomo made a similar request on Tuesday, calling on federal help to supply the state 30,000 ventilators from the national stockpile of medical supplies which only has little more than half that number in storage. So far, the federal government has largely tried to adequately respond to the pleas for help with the available resources on hand, as it reasonably should. Facing a shortage of equipment on hand himself, Trump on Thursday questioned Cuomo’s need for the 30,000 ventilators requested but has still pledged a fourth of the entire stockpile to be sent to the Empire State. On Tuesday, Vice President Mike Pence announced that 4,000 ventilators would be shipped to New York hospitals. Trump has also said the federal government is sending other supplies such as N95 respirators, surgical masks, face shields, coveralls and gloves, though the amount have come up short of the mayor and governor’s requests and some equipment has become expired while in reserve. New York is not alone in crying out for federal assistance. Cities and states across the country are beginning to see a spike in cases that threaten to bring their own health care institutions under siege and are depending on federal assistance to come though, all while resisting the same government’s duty to enforce immigration law. On Tuesday, the Pentagon also announced it would be deploying three Army field hospitals to both New York and Washington state, both of which are declared sanctuary states that refuse state agencies from complying with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Other sanctuary states and cities including California have been granted presidential approval for “Major Disaster Declarations” that will open the door for new federal assistance to pour into states heavily impacted. The federal government has pulled seemingly every lever to come to the rescue. Trump invoked the Stafford Act and the Defense Production Act to free up additional emergency funds and push the private sector into producing necessary medical equipment needed to combat the outbreak. Congress meanwhile, has passed several spending packages to confront the epidemic and the economic fallout to follow including a $2 trillion bipartisan stimulus bill that passed the Senate and is expected to pass the House on Friday with the president’s blessing. If states and cities are so eager to accept assistance from the federal government to combat the crisis, as they should, will they finally allow the feds to conduct federal immigration law?

Wow! They just admitted that they took 27,000 healthcare industry jobs away from American citizens. Are the illegal workers paying taxes? Is there any reason they should not go through the legal process of staying in the country?
......
Illegal aliens who are recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program argued to the Supreme Court on Friday that the program should be preserved because of the coronavirus.
In a letter to the justices, lawyers for Dreamers claimed that there are 27,000 DACA recipients working in health care jobs.
The pandemic sheds new light on the reliance interests of healthcare providers and the public health consequences of ignoring those interests,” the lawyers wrote.
They argued that the fact that some DACA recipients work as home health aides and such is a reason why the Supreme Court should reject President Donald Trump’s attempts to end the unconstitutional program.
The 2012 Obama program granted temporary amnesty to over 825,000 illegal aliens who were brought to the country by their parents as children, though most are no longer children now.
On August 31, 2018, District Court Judge Andrew Hanen ruled that DACA is likely unconstitutional as it was never approved by Congress and was enacted unilaterally by Barack Obama and his administration.
“Termination of DACA during this national emergency would be catastrophic,” the lawyers claimed.
A decision on the fate of the program by the Supreme Court was expected this summer, but it is unclear if it will be postponed due to the pandemic.

Trish Regan: This is just another attempt to impeach the president. And sadly they seem to care very little for any of the destruction they are leaving in their wake. Steve Doocy: I read that apparently Google searches for “panic attacks” was up like 100% because people are suffering from anxiety because they’re at home. They’re watching the news. They’re worried about their families. They’re worried about their jobs…
Dr. Oz: Often times they think they have coronavirus because they’re so anxious about it… I don’t want to downplay these issues because they actually may have coronavirus. Because people have very mild symptoms often. But the panic attack is devastating. And it is a physical problem… And these symptoms can cause all kinds of detrimental effects. And I think that is why a lot of doctors feel the worry, the panic about coronavirus is going to be worse than the actual coronavirus for them.

www.dailywire.com/news/making-millions-from-their-million-dollar-mansions-late-night-hosts-rip-trump-for-wanting-to-re-open-economyMaking Millions From Their Million-Dollar Mansions, Late-Night Hosts Rip Trump for Wanting To Re-Open Economy You might think President Trump’s hopeful message of wanting to re-open the economy by Easter would give comedians some good news to bring to their viewers. Not surprisingly, that’s not the case for late-night hosts. While 3.3 million Americans filed for unemployment last week and most Americans face an uncertain future as SARS-CoV-2 sweeps across the nation, late-night TV hosts are bashing Trump for trying to re-open the economy and imploring him to keep it closed. But the TV hosts are scolding the president from their multi-million dollar mansions, aware that their multi-million salaries are not in jeopardy and, with so many Americans isolated in their homes, their audiences could actually even grow. Take Trevor Noah, host of “The Daily Show.” He’ll still be getting his estimated $8 million a year salary and keeping his $10 million penthouse apartment, which occupies the 17th and 18th floor of a building in midtown Manhattan. Noah has been posting videos, sticking with his “Daily Show” format, on YouTube. In one, he says: “The the story that’s got everyone talking is that while more and more countries around the world are shutting down to stop coronavirus from spreading, Donald Jamison Trump is preparing for a grand opening.” Get 4 Lines for $25 a Month when you Switch to Boost Mobile Get 4 Samsung Galaxy phones when you make the switch to Boost’s super reliable, super-fast nationwide network Ad By Boost Mobile See More Trump said Tuesday he would “love to have the country opened up” by Easter, which is April 12. “It’s such an important day for other reasons, but I will make it an important day for this: I would love to have the country opened up, and they are just raring to go, by Easter,” the president said in a Fox News virtual town hall from the White House Rose Garden. “We’re opening up this incredible country. Because we have to do that. I would love to have it open by Easter.” “Yes,” Noah said, “President Trump said he wants to re-open on Easter. Which makes sense, I mean, Easter is all about resurrection, after all. Happy Easter, everyone — He is risen. ‘He’ meaning coronavirus.” Noah added: “You don’t have to be a genius to see why the president’s plan is alarming a lot of people right now.” “Late Night” host Seth Meyers was even most distraught at the idea of Trump’s optimism that the economy could be re-opened by April 12, posting his own video on YouTube. Get 4 Lines for $25 a Month when you Switch to Boost Mobile Get 4 Samsung Galaxy phones when you make the switch to Boost’s super reliable, super-fast nationwide network Ad By Boost Mobile See More Meyers, who’s still pulling in his estimated $3 million annual salary, did the video from his $7.5 million Manhattan duplex in Greenwich Village. Meyers played a clip in which Trump said: “Ultimately the goal is to ease the guidelines and open things up to very large sections of our country as we near the end of our historic battle with the invisible enemy. There’s tremendous hope as we look forward and we begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel.” Meyers responded, saying: “Light at the end of the tunnel? What are you talking about? Are you sure you’re not just staring at the sun again? … Trump cares more about the Dow than saving lives. It’s that simple.” On Trump saying he hoped the U.S. could be open by Easter, Meyers said, “You just came up with yourself? Did you decide to cede the decision to” the Easter Bunny (as an image of the holiday bunny. Impersonating Trump, Meyers said: “He’s bringing the eggs whether we like it or not, I say be ready.” Then as himself, he added: “Don’t just pull dates out of your a**. That’s unsanitary. … He randomly concocted a date against the advice of virtually all public health experts.” Meyers’ YouTube subscriber count, by the way, has doubled since the pandemic swept America. Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel also posted a video — from one of his three houses in Hermosa Beach, California (he bought one for $2.1 million in 2004, another for $2.25 million in 2014 and a third for $8 million in 2017). His annual salary was estimated at $15 million back in 2017. In response to Trump’s hope to re-open by Easter, Kimmel said in a video: “By Easter?! That’s in two and half weeks. Even Jesus is like, ‘Jesus! Calm down let’s think this through.’ “We’re all going to die so the president can eat Peeps,” Kimmel said. Comedian Victor Dweck, who like Noah and Meyers lives in Manhattan, told The Daily Wire that he hopes the late-night hosts can channel their skills into bringing more of a hopeful message to America. “Now, more than ever, we need laughs. We need funny people. The late-night hosts are very skilled, very gifted comics. I hope they can direct their talent and energy into bringing smiles to millions of people in this difficult time. With the huge reach that they have and the wind of success at their back, I think they are in a unique position to bring Americans together with a message of hope,” he said. For content creators like Dweck, the pandemic has thrown them all a curveball. “We had just completed a pilot we shot for an original series and were literally a day from sending it out to studios in Hollywood, and then the pandemic took over America. Just about every industry has paused and entered a crisis management mode. For creators, it’s forced us to re-think how we can shoot and deliver new content right now.” And now, that field is even more crowded, what with the late-night TV hosts posting their own content exclusively on the internet. Dweck has his own take on virus, a YoutTube video titled “Love in the Time of Corona,” in which two people on a first date run into an issue because neither want to take off their protective masks. “I’d like to bring as many laughs to as many people as possible. As a comedian, that means just focusing on delivering funny, not dread.”

Birx’s credentials are impeccable, including a stint in the Obama administration, and during public briefings she has shown an independent streak when it comes to clarifying things said by President Trump, and to both their credit, she does it with him standing there. Not to get too far off track, but when the history of this is written, Trump should receive enormous credit for allowing the public to witness this tension, as opposed to presenting a dull, uniform front. Anyway, by any measure, Birx is doing a superb job of informing the American people from that podium, fielding questions from a partisan press more interested in scoring points against Trump than informing a worried public, and sounding reasonable and fact-based in a country filled with alarmists who are, for whatever reason, personally invested in watching a worst-case scenario swallow up our country in the form of a mountain of dead American bodies. Obviously, when it comes to far-left CNN, this investment is based on a deeply personal and mentally unbalanced hatred of President Trump. So what happened here is that during her part of Thursday night’s briefing, Birx came out and dropped some truth bombs on the alarmists. Here’s the text of those remarks [emphasis added]: I’m sure many of you saw the recent report out of the U.K. about them adjusting completely their needs. This is really quite important. If you remember, that was the report that said there would be 500,000 deaths in the U.K. and 2.2 million deaths in the United States. They’ve adjusted that number in the U.K. to 20,000, half a million to 20,000. We are looking into this in great detail to understand that adjustment. I’m going to say something that is a little bit complicated but do it in a way we can understand it together. In the model, either you have to have a large group of people who are asymptomatic, who never presented for any test in order to have the kind of numbers that were predicted. To get to 60 million people infected, you have to have a large group of asymptomatics. In no country to date have we seen an attack rate over 1 in 1,000. So either we are only measuring the tip of the iceberg of the symptomatic cases and underneath it are a large group of people. So we are working very hard to get the antibody test because that’s a good way to figure out who these people are and do they exist. Or we have the transmission completely wrong. So these are the things we are looking at, because the predictions of the models don’t match the reality on the ground in China, South Korea, or Italy. We are five times the size of Italy. If we were Italy and you did all those divisions, Italy should have close to 400,000 deaths. They are not close to achieving that. … Models are models. We are — there is enough data now of the real experience with the coronavirus on the ground to really make these predictions much more sound. So when people start talking about 20 percent of a population getting infected, it’s very scary, but we don’t have data that matches that based on the experience. After addressing what she sees as those faulty models, she addressed the hysteria we’re seeing in the media and social media about overwhelmed hospitals and a lack of ventilators, specifically in New York City, which is dealing with the worst outbreak: We are reassured in meeting with our colleagues in New York that there are still ICU beds remaining and still significant — over 1,000 or 2,000 ventilators that have not been utilized. She then touched on a fake news story going around about “overwhelmed” hospitals instituting “Do Not Resuscitate” orders, which I will explain in greater detail below: Please for the reassurance of people around the world, to wake up this morning and look at people talking about creating DNR situations, Do Not Resuscitate situations for patients, there is no situation in the United States right now that warrants that kind of discussion. She closed by referring again to the models that assured us, as I have previously reported, that it was already too late to save anywhere from a half-million to 1.5 million Americans: There is no model right now — no reality on the ground where we can see that 60 percent to 70 percent of Americans are going to get infected in the next eight to 12 weeks. This is wonderful news. I mean, if you’re not personally invested in a mountain of American bodies… Which way too many people in this country are, primarily because Orange Man Bad. So it was at this point that CNN’s obviously disappointed Joe Lockhart ripped into Birx personally, while misspelling her name… “Dr Birk has drunk the Kool Aid,” he tweeted after she made her remarks. Dr Birk has drunk the Kool Aid — Joe Lockhart (@joelockhart) March 26, 2020 He continued to attack her, while misspelling her name, and deliberately mischaracterized her remarks… “How do you think the er docs and nurses in nyc feel about getting a lecture from dr birk about how irresponsible they are to be crying for help? They are putting their lives on the line, who the hell are you to lecture them,” he tweeted. This tweet is a lie. Birx never said it was irresponsible to ask for help. “I suggest Dr. Birk visit a hospital in NYC and then come back and brief on what she saw. I think it will be a very different briefing than we saw today. If she tells the truth which people around Trump don’t do very often,” he added. Again, Birx commented only on the available number of ICU beds and ventilators in New York, and said that this hype about Do Not Resuscitate orders was unfounded based on those facts. On Friday morning, Lockhart struck again, this time using a piece of fake news about these Do Not Resuscitate orders tweeted by former fake reporter Ron Fournier. And again, Lockhart misspelled her name, but did manage to come a little closer. “I wonder if Dr. Brix wants to revise and extend her remarks from yesterday. Exactly what she said wasn’t happening and shouldn’t happen is happening. Trust your Governor, not the WH,” he tweeted in response to a tweet from that fool Fournier screaming, “He is letting people die,” in reference to Trump. I wonder if Dr. Brix wants to revise and extend her remarks from yesterday. Exactly what she said wasn't happening and shouldn't happen is happening. Trust your Governor, not the WH t.co/nrGCiXjQv5— Joe Lockhart (@joelockhart) March 27, 2020 To give you an idea of just how fake this news is, it’s so fake NBC’s Kasie Hunt deleted her own alarmist tweet: I took down this tweet after the person who posted it deleted it. I’m including what the hospital had to say about it here also. pic.twitter.com/TG9GoPnzB7 — Kasie Hunt (@kasie) March 27, 2020 Did you see the part from the hospital about how “we hope to never have to apply them” or the other part about “we must be prepared for a worst case scenario,” which is another way of saying, the worst-case scenario is not here — which is exactly what Birx said… Regardless, Lockhart closed his rant with a sexist attack on Dr. “Brix” as a “Stepford Doc.” I, for one, am no longer interested in hearing from Dr. Brix. Her vouching for Trump's vast scientific abilities from his business background was the breaking point. Stepford Doc — Joe Lockhart (@joelockhart) March 27, 2020 These people, man. So here we go… Another example of how the left is pro-science right up until the scientists tell them something they don’t want to hear… You know, about things like gender and not enough Americans dying to fulfill their political agenda.

On Friday night Laura Ingraham reported on the latest study by the French research team led by the renowned epidemiologist Dr. Didier Raoult was able to repeat his findings from a previous study. Advertisement - story continues below This time Dr. Raoult administered hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin to 80 patients and observed improvement in EVERY CASE except for a very sick 86-year-old with an advanced form of coronavirus infection. This is very promising news once again from Dr. Didier Raoult. This is wonderful news. Unfortunately, this doctor’s work helps the the global community and Trump so the the liberal media has either igored, attacked or mocked his research. What awful people. Dr. Raoult tweeted his results. Translated: Our two articles published tonight help to demonstrate: 1. The effectiveness of our protocol, on 80 patients. 2. The relevance of the combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin, thanks to research carried out in our P3 containment laboratory. He's also a climate skeptic, (which would explain why the liberal media has been assaulting him non stop) : www.eenews.net/stories/1062710901Trump pins coronavirus hope on a climate skeptic President Trump has turned to a French virologist with a history of criticizing climate science to offer the world hope amid the novel coronavirus pandemic. Last week, Trump tweeted that the combination of two medicines could dramatically alter the often deadly course of COVID-19. "HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN, taken together, have a real chance to be one of the biggest game changers in the history of medicine," Trump wrote. He then cited a study published in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents that afforded little time for peer review. Trump's optimism comes from a small study of about 40 COVID-19 patients in France, though it wasn't immediately clear how it came to the president's attention. The study was conducted by Didier Raoult, a virologist at Aix-Marseille University in France. Raoult has a history of challenging science outside of his field of expertise, including claims that Darwin's theory of evolution was wrong and that climate models are overblown. "Climate predictions are absurd," he wrote in a 2013 piece for a French publication, Le Point, in which Raoult declared he "hates climate forecasts." According to a French-to-English translation, he wrote that those who take action against climate change — as well as those who do the research to examine it — have taken "more of a religious approach than a science." "Our sense of guilt explains the transformation of the debate into something of an unscientific nature," he wrote. While Raoult has no climate credentials, he is an influential virologist who has discovered dozens of bacteria. Raoult also has been critical of how governments have responded to the global pandemic, and he published a book this month called "Epidemics, Real Dangers and False Alarms." In it, he blames the media for instilling fear about COVID-19. "This panic is largely due to the exaggerations of the press, which knows that fear 'sells,'" he wrote. It remains to be seen if Raoult has discovered a useful — and potentially lifesaving — drug regime to combat the coronavirus, health experts caution. They include Dr. Anthony Fauci, a member of Trump's coronavirus task force who said researchers don't know yet if the drugs are safe for people with the coronavirus. Health ethicists say Raoult's work, and other small studies, should not be reflexively touted as a cure — particularly by politicians looking to give people an unverified sense of hope. Hydroxychloroquine is a derivative of an anti-malaria drug, and azithromycin is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial pneumonia. Raoult, an influential virologist who has received funding from the French government, published a video in February called "Coronavirus: Endgame!" in which he explored Chinese experiments with hydroxychloroquine. He quickly tested it on a small group of French COVID-19 patients in a local hospital earlier this month and, along with a group of co-authors, published his research March 20, after a day of peer review, in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents. The study recommended that all COVID-19 patients be treated with the drug cocktail, even though no larger regime of testing has been conducted. Malarial drugs can have significant side effects in some patients, including retinal failure and cardiac arrest. Despite the dramatic pronouncement that hundreds of thousands of coronavirus patients should be administered the drugs, Raoult and his co-authors acknowledged the limitations of their research. "Our study has some limitations including a small sample size, limited long-term outcome follow-up, and dropout of six patients from the study, however in the current context, we believe that our results should be shared with the scientific community," they wrote. A study published this week in the Journal of Zhejiang University in China contradicted the Raoult study and found that hydroxychloroquine was not any more effective than conventional coronavirus treatment. Both studies rely on a small group of patients. The embrace of limited-research results by politicians can be dangerous, said Alison Bateman-House, a health ethicist and professor of population health at New York University. She said there is precedent for taking unproven research when other options are not available but that it should not be touted by politicians as a solution before that is proved. "It's incredibly irresponsible, and it's not something any leader should be doing," she said. "If you're not a physician, you shouldn't be opining on medical care." Not conducting research with clear guidelines means the end result may not provide the scientific backing that is needed to use the treatment on a wider scale, said Bateman-House. "If you're not giving people these medications in a well-structured, thought-out trial that has the support and capabilities necessary to collecting the data, then you're not advancing the science, all you're getting is more anecdotal evidence," she said. Nonetheless, Trump and Vice President Mike Pence have spent days touting this option. "Doctors can now prescribe chloroquine for that off-label purpose of dealing with the symptoms of coronavirus," Pence told reporters Saturday. "The president's very optimistic." Those claims may have contributed to a run on the drugs throughout the world. Pharmacies across Africa, where malarial medications often are a matter of life or death, saw a high demand for the drug. And the pressure to obtain the drugs in the United States has become so severe that pharmacy boards in Idaho, Kentucky, Ohio, Nevada, Oklahoma, North Carolina and Texas have issued new guidance on how the drugs should be administered, according to a New York Times article. The Washington Post reported yesterday that Mark Meadows, Trump's incoming chief of staff, reached out to a family doctor in upstate New York who said he has used the drugs to treat hundreds of suspected coronavirus cases. Conservative media outlets and Fox News host Sean Hannity have touted the work of that family doctor from New York, Vladimir Zelenko. Zelenko has also used his Facebook page to say that China is using the coronavirus as a population control device. At least one state, however, is giving the drugs a chance. New York is now conducting a large-scale experiment, distributing the drug throughout its hospital networks to try on sick patients, and Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) has ordered hundreds of thousands of doses. The Food and Drug Administration, at Trump's urging, has rapidly approved the testing. Raoult is confident his work will hold up. "In my field, I am a star, worldwide," Raoult told the La Provence newspaper in France. "I don't give a damn what others think. I am not an outsider. I'm streaks ahead of the others."

dailycaller.com/2020/03/27/hispanic-caucus-democrats-border-closure-immigrants-coronavirus/Numerous House Democrats criticized the Trump administration Friday for closing the U.S.-Mexico border amid the coronavirus pandemic and demanded a number of answers regarding the order. The Congressional Hispanic Caucus, which is comprised entirely of Democrats, sent the letter to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), criticized the administration’s decision to seal off the southern border to non-essential traffic. The members took particular umbrage with the fact that the order forbids the entrance of any illegal aliens. “We write to request information on the implementation of the Order issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that restricts the entry of unauthorized people into the United States for the purported reason of containing COVID-19,” the letter began. “[T]he Order impacts many categories of people, including those that are particularly vulnerable,” it continued. US-MIGRANTS-TRUMP COURT A Border patrol officer walks along the US-Mexico border fence. (Sandy Huffaker/AFP via Getty Images) The Trump administration earlier this week declared that the northern and southern border would be closed to all non-essential traffic as a means to stop the spread of the coronavirus. While travel for commercial trade and the necessary work would remain permissible, much other travel is forbidden, including illegal immigration. “As we continue to evaluate commonsense measures that reduce risk and prevent further spread, it only makes sense that we looked to the measures that neighbors to the north and south are undertaking,” Chad Wolf, the acting DHS secretary DHS, said during the announcement. (RELATED: Border Authorities Find Nearly $37 Million Worth Of Meth In Shipment Of Tomatoes) The Democrats, however, have taken issue with the fact that, under the order, asylum seekers who are found illegally entering the U.S. would be sent back to their last country of transit. For aliens who are not accepted by Mexico or Canada, DHS will see that they are repatriated back to their home countries as soon as possible. The federal government, along with local and state governments across the country, has taken dramatic steps to stop the spread of the disease and save lives. The Congressional Hispanic Caucus, however, expressed concern about the plight of illegal aliens appearing at the southern border. “Our shared commitment to protecting the country from COVID-19 should not come at the cost of disregarding fundamental human rights, including the right to seek asylum and availing other legal protections,” the Democrats wrote. The letter on Friday laid out an array of questions for the administration to answer, particularly regarding the order and aliens that are currently in U.S. detention. The members want their inquires answered by April 10.

www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/03/27/coronavirus-illegal-aliens-demand-1-2k-each-in-taxpayer-funded-checks/Illegal aliens are demanding they too receive $1,200 in federal checks from the government as part of a Chinese coronavirus crisis relief package.Open borders organizations like the George Soros-funded United We Dream, the National Immigrant Justice Center, and the National Immigration Law Center — all of which represent the roughly 11 to 22 million illegal aliens living in the United States — are pleading with the federal government to cut federal checks to illegal aliens who have Individual Tax Identification Number (ITINs). Currently, Trump’s coronavirus relief package includes $1,200 federal checks for American citizens with Social Security Numbers (SSN) or those considered “resident aliens,” like permanent lawful residents in the U.S. on green cards.
Illegal aliens, therefore, are excluded from receiving the federal checks, a provision that has outraged the open borders lobby.“Everyone, regardless of immigration status, must have access to testing, medical care & financial relief. It’s official. FOX Business Network fired Trish Regan for defending President Trump. Trish Regan accused Democrats and their media of using coronavirus to impeach the president. Trish Regan: This is just another attempt to impeach the president. And sadly they seem to care very little for any of the destruction they are leaving in their wake. Losses in the stock market, all of this unfortunately just part of the political casualties.” Given what the Democrats did to hamper the stimulus bill, etc. proves she was right. Hopefully she’ll land at OAN, etc. www.mediaite.com/tv/breaking-trish-regan-out-at-fox-business-network/Fox Business Network’s Trish Regan is leaving the network. In a statement provided to Mediaite Friday, the network announced, “FOX Business has parted ways with Trish Regan – we thank her for her contributions to the network over the years and wish her continued success in her future endeavors.” Recently Regan came under scrutiny for her commentary calling the media coverage of coronavirus another “impeachment scam” trying to “destroy the president.” A few days later the network announced her primetime show would be going on hiatus, citing demands of coronavirus coverage. I liked her. Too bad. Fox continues to employ Donna Brazile though. And Juan the con Williams.
