dailycaller.com/2020/03/13/michigan-governor-doesnt-rule-out-martial-law-as-coronavirus-response/Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer discussed the outbreak of the coronavirus Friday morning on the Michael Patrick Shiels talk radio show. Shiels asked Whitmer whether she would declare martial law in the state of Michigan.
“Could we get to a position where it’s sort of like martial law, where everything is closed and everybody stays home, like it is in Italy, for instance ,where you only have the hospitals and the drug stores open?” Shiels asked.
“I think we have to make decisions based on where the facts and science dictate,” Whitmer said. “At this juncture it is too early to make any statements — it wouldn’t be responsible to make any statements on that front.”
“I will tell you that every decision we make, we will be transparent about it, what’s driving the decision,” she added. “We will share it as quickly as we can with the public once the decision has been made and we will always put the health and safety of the people of the state first and foremost and that will drive all decisions.” This is fucking nuts.Martial law for what? Do they have any cases yet? Like Italy? I have no idea what they are doing. They're pretty much making us shut ins as it is. The economy is coming grinding to a halt. Remember all those that said a recession wouldn't be the worst thing? This is similar to the War of the Worlds radio broadcast which led to national panic, etc. This time, it’s the televised media willfully doing it. This sums it up perfectly:

dailycaller.com/2020/03/14/maryland-tax-increase-education-coronavirus/Maryland Democrats Advance Tax Hikes And Expensive Education Plan Despite Coronavirus Pandemic Maryland Democrats advanced tax increases and a multi-billion dollar education bill Saturday as the public is barred from the statehouse and the legislative session is expected to end early due to the coronavirus. The Maryland Senate gave preliminary approval Saturday to an education plan that would cost $4 billion annually to reform the state’s public school system. To fund the plan, Democrats gave preliminary approval to tax increases on tobacco products and digital downloading, a move Republicans said is unpopular, as the economy is expected to struggle in the coming months of the coronavirus pandemic. “I’m shocked that Democrats are moving forward with taxes,” Maryland Senate Minority Leader J. B. Jennings told the Daily Caller. “Now is not the time to pass tax increases.” (RELATED: Gov. Larry Hogan Feuds With Maryland Democrats Over Baltimore’s Violent Crime) The state legislature is reportedly considering ending its session early in response to the coronavirus. Normally, the session is from January to April. The legislature announced Thursday that there would be no public gatherings at the statehouse, meaning lobbyists, activists, and concerned citizens are unable to attend hearings. “We should be walking to the floor dealing with legislation about the coronavirus,” Maryland Senate Minority Whip Steve Hershey told the Daily Caller. “Either bring the public in or go into recess.” Hershey called it “damaging” for the Democratic-led legislature to push through such an expensive plan during a state of emergency. He said the Senate is currently understaffed due to concerns over the coronavirus making it difficult to go over all the proposed amendments to the education plan. Democrat lawyer Daniel Goldman announced on Sunday he has tested positive for the coronavirus. Goldman tried and failed miserably to impeach President Trump while the coronavirus was spreading in China. Maybe Democrats shouldn’t have been wasting their time with a sham impeachment when they should have focused on the real issues? Goldman blamed President Trump for the virus! Figures. dailycaller.com/2020/03/15/daniel-goldman-positive-coronavirus-blames-trump/Democrats’ Impeachment Lawyer Tests Positive For Coronavirus, Blames Trump For ‘Gaslighting’ America Democratic impeachment lawyer Daniel Goldman announced Sunday that he’s tested positive for coronavirus — and immediately blamed President Donald Trump for “gaslighting” America. Goldman explained his situation through a series of tweets, explaining the difficulty that he had experienced even getting access to a test and suggesting that the Trump administration was at fault for too slow a response in providing tests and spreading false information. KC's mayor has taken it upon himself to shut down the city. The bars were busy this weekend so I'm sure he'll be rethinking his 1000 person limit. Now we have Illinois shutting down all restaurants, bars, and clubs. WTF. I hope there's plenty of money to give to all of us.
My daughter's friend is a chef at a small restaurant. She's worried.

David Boreanaz tweeted out his disdain for CNN on Sunday. “Fear kills the immune system. Watching @cnn will distroy [sic] you,” the actor wrote. Boreanaz currently stars in CBS’ SEAL Team playing the leader of Bravo Team, a sub-unit of SEAL Team Six, as it engages in high-risk missions throughout the world. The dramatic series is in its third season. The actor announced last week that the network has suspended production on the series due to the coronavirus.

Like clockwork the lying liberal media hacks only used half of President Trump’s quote to governors in order to cause more panic and mass hysteria.
New York Times reporter Mara Gay is not only bad at math, she deliberately only used half of the President’s quote in order to make it sound like Trump told the governors they are on their own.
“Trump told governors this morning they are on their own: “Respirators, ventilators, all of the equipment — try getting it yourselves,” Mr. Trump told the governors during the conference call, a recording of which was shared with The New York Times,” Mara Gay said on Twitter.
Julie Bosman, another New York Times hack reporter did the same thing as Mara Gay and only used half of Trump’s quote.
This was irresponsible and misleading.
The full quote from President Trump is as follows: “We will be backing you, but try getting it yourselves. Point of sales, much better, much more direct if you can get it yourself.”

Canada shuts its borders: www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/03/16/coronavirus-justin-trudeau-shutting-down-canadian-border-to-foreign-travelers/Coronavirus: Justin Trudeau Shutting Down Canadian Border to Foreign Travelers Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday announced that Canada is drastically restricting its borders as the country moves to prevent additional cases of the deadly coronavirus. Addressing reporters in Ottawa, Trudeau said the country is shutting down its borders to non-citizens, with the exceptions of permanent residents, diplomats, aircrews, and U.S. citizens. The prime minister also said that airlines will prevent individuals from exhibiting coronavirus symptoms from entering an aircraft. “That means anyone who has symptoms will not be able to enter Canada,” he explained. Further, only four airports — Pearson International Airport, Vancouver International Airport, Montreal Trudeau Airport, and Calgary International Airport — will be allowed to receive international flights. Trudeau also re-upped a federal recommendation that Canadians abroad return home. “If you are abroad it’s time to come back home,” the Canadian leader said. “If you have just arrived, you must self-isolate for 14 days.” Trudeau was quarantined Thursday after his wife, Sophie Trudeau, tested positive for the coronavirus. In an emailed statement, the Prime Minister’s Office said Justin Trudeau, 48, was in good health and was exhibiting no symptoms of the disease but will be isolated for 14 days as a precaution. “The prime minister will continue to fully assume his duties and will address Canadians tomorrow,” it said. “… All orders of government will continue to work tirelessly and in close collaboration. Canada has a well-equipped public health system to deal with the spread of COVID-19.” According to his office, doctors advised that he not be tested as he is not exhibiting symptoms and for the same reason there is no risk of infection to those he’s been in contact with. Sophie Trudeau, 44, was tested earlier Thursday for COVID-19 and was placed in isolation with her husband as they awaited her test results, which came back positive, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

San Francisco ordered a near complete lockdown of Bay Area residents on Monday in response to the Coronavirus panic. 6 counties in the Bay Area have announced a “shelter in place” order directing all residents to stay inside of their homes for three weeks. Monday’s order from lawmakers in San Fran is the strictest in the nation so far. Beginning midnight on Tuesday, residents may only leave their homes to shop for food/supplies, to access health care or to provide aide to family and friends in need. Resident may go outside for exercise but must stay 6 feet away from people they don’t live with. The homeless are exempt from the order. Via the San Francisco Chronicle: www.sfchronicle.com/local-politics/article/Bay-Area-must-shelter-in-place-Only-15135014.phpSix Bay Area counties announced a “shelter in place” order for all residents on Monday — the strictest measure of its kind in the country — directing everyone to stay inside their homes and away from others as much as possible for the next three weeks as public health officials desperately try to curb the rapid spread of coronavirus across the region. The directive begins at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday and involves San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa and Alameda counties — a combined population of more than 6.7 million. It is to stay in place until at least April 7. Three other Bay Area counties — Sonoma, Solano and Napa — were not immediately included. The order falls just short of a full lockdown, which would forbid people from leaving their homes without explicit permission, and it wasn’t immediately clear how, or to what degree, it would be enforced. The order calls for the sheriff or chief of police to “ensure compliance.” In Italy and other places that have instituted lockdowns, travel outside the home has been restricted without permission and police have been ordering people back home if they don’t have a reason to be in public.

www.dailywire.com/news/bill-de-blasio-refused-major-efforts-to-combat-coronavirus-until-aides-threatened-to-quit-report-saysBill De Blasio Refused Major Efforts To Combat Coronavirus Until Aides Threatened To Quit, Report Says New York City Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio reportedly refused to take strict measures to combat the coronavirus until aides threatened to quit which came after he attacked President Donald Trump over the issue. “There had been arguments and shouting matches between the mayor and some of his advisers; some top health officials had even threatened to resign if he refused to accept the need to close schools and businesses, according to several people familiar with the internal discussions,” The New York Times reported. “Teachers were threatening not to show up to school on Monday. A growing number of public health experts and politicians were calling for much of the city to be shut down to curb the spread of the virus.” Bars and restaurants remained open over the weekend and were packed, something that caused a significant amount of criticism online from those who were closely tracking the spread of the coronavirus. De Blasio, a far-left Democrat who supports socialist Bernie Sanders, has responded to the crisis by repeatedly stating that the federal government needs to take over the supply chain and that entire industries needs to be nationalized. “It is quite clear that this crisis is growing intensely,” de Blasio said during a press conference on Sunday. “I’m very, very concerned that we see a rapid spread of this disease and it is time to take more dramatic measures and I will tell you that the issue that has been on everyone’s mind is our public schools.” De Blasio said that he was closing New York City public schools to help prevent the continued spread of the virus. De Blasio signed an executive order on Monday that shut down the ability of restaurants and bars to serve food inside their establishments, but did allow them to deliver food to people. De Blasio was then widely criticized for going and working out at the gym, something that people said showed that he was not taking the outbreak seriously. “The Mayor’s actions today are inexcusable and reckless,” said his former adviser Rebecca Katz. “It’s pathetic. Self-involved. Inexcusable,” former adviser Jonathan Rosen added. De Blasio responded to the criticism by saying that he needed to go workout so that he could be healthy and take care of the city. Mayor de Blasio is indeed here at the Park Slope YMCA this morning. Passers by have commented negatively. One called him an idot. pic.twitter.com/FIgEmlf4Gf — andrew kaczynski🤔 (@kfile) March 16, 2020 De Blasio has faced numerous questions over his work habits, or lack thereof, over the years including allegations that he sleeps on the job. “Mayor Bill de Blasio’s daily exercise routine at a Brooklyn gym often leaves him too tuckered out to stay awake at City Hall, where he catches up on his shuteye by crashing on a couch in his office,” The New York Post reported in August 2017. “[De Blasio] regularly takes midday naps while everyone around him is busy at work, according to former aides with knowledge of the siestas.” The Post reported the next month that de Blasio refused a “yes-or-no” answer on the matter and instead attacked the publications for asking.

WaPo reporter/contributor: www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2020/03/15/jennifer_rubin_more_republicans_than_democrats_will_die_of_coronavirus_because_right_wing_media_is_downplaying_threat.htmlJennifer Rubin: More Republicans Than Democrats Will Die Because Right-Wing Media Is Downplaying Coronavirus Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin offered a prediction Sunday morning on MSNBC that more Republicans than Democrats would die from the novel coronavirus outbreak because conservative media outlets are downplaying the threat. JENNIFER RUBIN, WASHINGTON POST: There is a particular cruelty/irony that it is their core viewers, the Republican older viewers, who are the most at risk. And when you think about it, which party immediately canceled all of their rallies? Which party immediately started having their political figures really portray and use their lies as an example? It was the Democrats. So, I hate to put it this way, but there will be less Democrat deaths because there will be less mass gatherings, there will be less opportunities for people to congregate and share this horrible disease. So it is really a very short-sighted strategy. But, I think now the name of the game is how do they get back on Planet Earth. And part of the way that I think that they are doing it is down the memory hole. He jumped right on this right away because of all this planning that we’re doing so well, which is head-spinning for the rest of us who watched him for weeks say this was a hoax. But this is how they do it at Fox News. Suddenly, he's been the most pro-active president... The toughest on it. And so they will contort themselves to get in line and get in sync. And, you know, we’re always saying but, but, but, pointing to the past. They don’t. They simply move with the flow. Every day is a new day. Every day is a new storyline, and they will stick with it. I think the problem will be what happens unfortunately if we start to follow that Italian model where we have mass casualties, and our lives are not disrupted for a week or two, but we’re talking months. And that is going to be some serious stuff. And I don’t know if their brainwashing is so strong as to carry on and make excuses for Trump during that. But this will be some serious stuff. Even eternal Never Trumper McCain commented on it:

NBC legal analyst and former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner floated an insane legal theory on Tuesday and suggested Trump may have “criminal exposure” for ‘negligent homicide’ over his Coronavirus response.
Kirschner posted a tweetstorm asserting President Trump may be liable for the deaths caused by the Coronavirus.
So Barack Obama is also liable for the 60 million Americans who got Swine Flu in 2009 and the additional 12,000+ Americans who died?
Kirschner then uses the deaths of Americans citizens to bring up potential campaign finance crimes committed by Trump.
“But the homicide liability MUST be addressed because ALL criminal charges will have to be investigated and, if the evidence dictates it, prosecuted come Jan. 2021. Stay tuned,” Kirschner said in closing.

www.inquirer.com/health/coronavirus/philadelphia-police-coronavirus-covid-pandemic-arrests-jail-overcrowding-larry-krasner-20200317.htmlOne day after Philadelphia courts closed until April 1 to limit the spread of the coronavirus, Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw notified commanders Tuesday that police will be delaying arrests for nonviolent crimes, including drug offenses, theft, and prostitution. The announcement came in an internal memo outlining protections including social distancing during roll call and emphasizing the importance of the public’s safety, as well as the safety of officers. A boldfaced, yellow-highlighted paragraph notes that “if an officer believes that releasing the offender would pose a threat to public safety, the officer will notify a supervisor," who would decide whether the suspect should be held. The Fraternal Order of Police issued a statement supporting the decision, which covers all narcotics offenses, thefts, burglary, vandalism, prostitution, stolen cars, economic crimes, such as bad checks and fraud, and any existing bench warrants.

www.dailywire.com/news/report-coronavirus-outbreak-could-have-been-reduced-by-95-if-china-acted-soonerREPORT: Coronavirus Outbreak Could Have Been Reduced By 95% If China Acted Sooner A recently published study from the University of Southampton estimated that the global outbreak of the coronavirus could have been dramatically reduced had China’s communist government acted sooner. The study relied on research from a population mapping group called “WorldPop,” which created the models that were used in the study. The research found “that if interventions in [China] could have been conducted one week, two weeks, or three weeks earlier, cases could have been reduced by 66 percent, 86 percent and 95 percent respectively – significantly limiting the geographical spread of the disease.” The first case of the virus was reportedly detected as early as mid-November of last year. The Guardian reported: The first case of someone suffering from Covid-19 can be traced back to 17 November, according to media reports on unpublished Chinese government data. The report, in the South China Morning Post, said Chinese authorities had identified at least 266 people who contracted the virus last year and who came under medical surveillance, and the earliest case was 17 November – weeks before authorities announced the emergence of the new virus. The Chinese government was widely criticised over attempts to cover up the outbreak in the early weeks, including crackdowns on doctors who tried to warn colleagues about a new Sars-like virus which was emerging in the city of Wuhan in Hubei province. Other reports place the initial detection of the outbreak in early December, with Wei Guixian, a seafood merchant in Wuhan’s Hua’nan market, being one of the first reported cases. The Wall Street Journal reported: When doctors did finally establish the Hua’nan link in late December, they quarantined Ms. Wei and others like her and raised the alarm to their superiors. But they were prevented by Chinese authorities from alerting their peers, let alone the public. One of the first doctors to alert Chinese authorities was criticized for “spreading rumors” after sharing with a former medical-school classmate a test result showing a patient had a coronavirus. Another doctor had to write a self-criticism letter saying his warnings “had a negative impact.” Even after Chinese President Xi Jinping personally ordered officials to control the outbreak on Jan. 7, authorities kept denying it could spread between humans—something doctors had known was happening since late December—and went ahead with a Chinese Lunar New Year banquet involving tens of thousands of families in Wuhan. The Journal also noted that epidemiologists who have studied the case data believe that the virus could have made the jump from animals to humans as early as October. China waited until January 23, 2020, before quarantining the entire city of Wuhan, which has a population of over 11 million people. Axios highlighted how China censored people who tried to sound the alarm: Ai Fen, a top director at Wuhan Central Hospital, posts information on WeChat about the new virus. She was reprimanded for doing so and told not to spread information about it. Wuhan doctor Li Wenliang also shares information on WeChat about the new SARS-like virus. He is called in for questioning shortly afterward. Wuhan health commission notifies hospitals of a “pneumonia of unclear cause” and orders them to report any related information.

An ABC News/Ipsos poll released Friday shows Trump with a 55 percent approval, reported ABC News: abcnews.go.com/Politics/note-wartime-president-polling-boost-election-scripts-rewritten/story?id=69691517“A new ABC News/Ipsos poll out Friday morning found 55% approval of Trump’s handling of the novel coronavirus crisis, with 43% disapproval. Exactly a week ago, the same poll found a 43-54 approval-disapproval — a near-mirror-image reversal.” The Harris Poll released Thursday shows a 53 percent approval for Trump’s handling the virus, an increase from 49 percent from last week’s Harris poll. theharrispoll.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/COVID19-Axios-LIveStream.pdfA Survey USA poll released Thursday has Trump with 51 percent approval for his handling of the virus. www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=982bb407-60fd-42bc-ac07-080c7af879b2Americans nationwide today give President Donald Trump a Plus 11 Net Virus Grade, according to SurveyUSA’s latest time-series tracking poll conducted 03/18/20 and 03/19/20. 51% of adults nationwide approve of the way Trump is responding to the virus, including 25% who “strongly approve.” 40% disapprove of Trump’s response, including 25% who “strongly disapprove.” In an identical SurveyUSA poll 1 week ago, Trump was Net Zero; 46% approved (including 22% who strongly approved); 46% disapproved (including 32% who “strongly disapproved”), a strong, 11-point week-on-week improvement. SurveyUSA exclusive time-series tracking data available here. The approval numbers have risen as as Trump has led daily televised press briefings on the government’s response to the virus. By coincidence a call has gone out by liberals, led by MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, for a media blackout of the briefings because they say Trump will get people killed because of his rhetoric. Jay Rosen, journalism professor at NYU wrote at his NYU blog PressThink an imaginary statement from a broadcast executive on not covering Trump’s briefings: pressthink.org/2020/03/today-we-switch-our-coverage-of-donald-trump-to-an-emergency-setting/Even this far into his term, it is still a bit of a shock to be reminded that the single most potent force for misinforming the American public is the current president of the United States. For three years this has been a massive — and unsolved — problem for the country and its political leadership.
But now it is life and death. On everything that involves the coronavirus Donald Trump’s public statements have been unreliable. And that is why today we announce that we are shifting our coverage of the President to an emergency setting.
This means we are exiting from the normal system for covering presidents— which Trump himself exited long ago by using the microphone we have handed him to spread thousands of false claims, even as he undermines trust in the presidency and the press. True: he is not obliged to answer our questions. But neither are we obligated to assist him in misinforming the American people about the spread of the virus, and what is actually being done by his government.
…Switching to emergency mode means our coverage will look different and work in a different way, as we try to prevent the President from misinforming you through us. Here are the major changes:
* We will not cover live any speech, rally, or press conference involving the president. The risk of passing along bad information is too great. Instead, we will attend carefully to what he says. If we can independently verify any important news he announces we will bring that to you— after the verification step.
* We plan to suspend normal relations with the Trump White House. That means we won’t be attending briefings. (We can watch them on TV.) We won’t gather around him as he departs in his helicopter. We won’t join in any off-the-record “background” sessions with Administration officials. We won’t enter into agreements of any kind with the Trump team, which includes those nameless “senior advisers” who mysteriously show up in news stories…End excerptThe Boston Globe’s Michael Cohen op-ed on Friday headlined, “Trump is spreading misinformation about the coronavirus — time to take away his microphone” www.bostonglobe.com/2020/03/20/opinion/take-away-trumps-microphone/The Nation’s Elie Mystal article headlined “The Media Is Helping Spread Trump’s Coronavirus Racism It’s time for every major media outlet to stop disseminating Trump’s hate—and stop repeating his racist nicknames for the virus.” www.thenation.com/article/society/coronavirus-trump-racism/Salon’s Bob Cesca, “Stop airing these press conferences — all of you. Between raging on Peter Alexander or his repeated use of the bigoted “Chinese Virus,” Trump has proved that he’s just as damaging and unserious as he’s always been. DO NOT REPEAT 2016.” Rolling Stone’s Washington bureau chief Andy Kroll, “A plea to the big news organizations: Please stop airing Trump’s press conferences in real-time. Cover them, highlight Dr. Fauci’s recommendations, but edit out the president’s misinformation and attacks.” The media: If we can’t beat Trump, we’ll silence him.

If you can’t beat him, censor him. The growing call within the journalism community to stop live broadcasts of President Trump’s daily COVID-19 Chinese coronavirus briefings got a major boost Saturday with the publication of a column by the Washington Post’s media columnist Margaret Sullivan. Prior to her joining the Post in 2016, Sullivan was the Public Editor for the New York Times from 2012 to 2016.
The media must stop live-broadcasting Trump’s dangerous, destructive coronavirus briefings
More and more each day, President Trump is using his daily briefings as a substitute for the campaign rallies that have been forced into extinction by the spread of the novel coronavirus.
These White House sessions — ostensibly meant to give the public critical and truthful information about this frightening crisis — are in fact working against that end.
Rather, they have become a daily stage for Trump to play his greatest hits to captive audience members. They come in search of life-or-death information, but here’s what they get from him instead: Read more2/6
● Self-aggrandizement. When asked how he would grade his response to the crisis, the president said, “I’d rate it a 10.” Absurd on its face, of course, but effective enough as blatant propaganda
● Media-bashing. When NBC News’s Peter Alexander lobbed him a softball question in Friday’s briefing — “What do you say to Americans who are scared?” — Trump went on a bizarre attack. “I say, you’re a terrible reporter,” the president said, launching into one of his trademark “fake news” rants bashing Alexander’s employer. (Meanwhile, he has also found time during these news briefings to lavish praise on sycophantic pro-Trump media like One America News Network, whose staffer — I can’t call her a reporter — invited him to justify his xenophobic talk of a “Chinese virus” by asking rhetorically if he considers the phrase “Chinese food” racist.)
…But Trump has proved, time after time, that he doesn’t care about truth, that he puts his financial and political self-interest above that of the public, and that he has no understanding of the role of the press in a democracy. And now lives are on the line.
The news media, at this dangerous and unprecedented moment in world history, must put the highest priority on getting truthful information to the public.
Taking Trump’s press conferences as a live feed works against that core purpose.

www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/have-many-coronavirus-patients-died-italy/According to Prof Walter Ricciardi, scientific adviser to Italy’s minister of health, the country’s mortality rate is far higher due to demographics – the nation has the second oldest population worldwide – and the manner in which hospitals record deaths. “The age of our patients in hospitals is substantially older – the median is 67, while in China it was 46,” Prof Ricciardi says. “So essentially the age distribution of our patients is squeezed to an older age and this is substantial in increasing the lethality.” A study in JAMA this week found that almost 40 per cent of infections and 87 per cent of deaths in the country have been in patients over 70 years old. And according to modelling the majority of this age group are likely to need critical hospital care – including 80 per cent of 80-somethings – putting immense pressure on the health system. But Prof Ricciardi added that Italy’s death rate may also appear high because of how doctors record fatalities. “The way in which we code deaths in our country is very generous in the sense that all the people who die in hospitals with the coronavirus are deemed to be dying of the coronavirus. “On re-evaluation by the National Institute of Health, only 12 per cent of death certificates have shown a direct causality from coronavirus, while 88 per cent of patients who have died have at least one pre-morbidity – many had two or three,” he says. Other experts have also expressed scepticism about the available data. Martin McKee, professor of European public health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, says that countries do not yet have a good indication of how many mild infections they have. If further testing finds more asymptomatic cases spreading undetected, the mortality rate will drop.

townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2020/03/20/huffpo-reporter-the-democrats-response-to-the-wuhan-coronavirus-outbreak-has-been-disastrous-n2565419HuffPo Reporter: The Democrats’ Response to the Wuhan Coronavirus Outbreak Has Been Disastrous
The liberal media may have temporarily won the battle to trash the stock market with this Wuhan coronavirus outbreak, but the Trump administration’s proactive response to this disease is winning the larger public relations battle. Polls show a majority of Americans now approve of how the president is handling the crisis.
The anti-Trump media cannot fight a two-front war. They’re not smart enough. So, either way—Trump has won—again. And if this outbreak is contained—and God-willing that occurs soon—the economy should recover…
The Democrats are nowhere to be found on this. It’s been Republicans who have been quarterbacking the response on the Hill. HuffPo described their move on this matter as disastrous, as the GOP has taken the leadership role, despite Democrats controlling the House and the money for all this stuff. This is from the liberal Huffington Post: www.huffpost.com/entry/nancy-pelosi-joe-biden-coronavirus-response_n_5e74fc86c5b63c3b648fdda1?fbclid=IwAR0f18Jxiu0W9zgC3j32kGK0POXORkRTBUWCOXmMKfPJKZCrpHrhdXK7GngTrump does not have a monopoly on political malpractice. As the crisis has spread, Democratic Party leaders ? House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and presumptive presidential nominee Joe Biden ? have either been missing in action or short on solutions.
Their silence has ? incredibly ? allowed a handful of arch-conservative Republicans to take public credit for advancing the popular, progressive idea of just sending every household a large check for the duration of the crisis.
Pelosi explicitly rejected that very idea in early talks among House Democrats, overruling pleas from Democratic economists.
With Democratic leaders thinking small, a majority of the public now actually approves of Trump’s catastrophic pandemic management, according to a new poll…
And where is Biden? What, exactly, would Pelosi want to see happen?
What does the Democratic Party even stand for?Trump is handling this crisis well & it’s driving the left crazy.

www.dailywire.com/news/iran-leader-cites-chinese-conspiracy-theory-while-rejecting-help-from-us-to-stop-coronavirusIran’s supreme leader on Sunday cited a conspiracy theory claiming America bio-engineered the coronavirus. Citing this theory, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei refused U.S. help in fighting the virus. Khamenei not only repeated the conspiracy theory, which is being peddled by Chinese authorities in order to take the blame off of the communist country for the outbreak, but claimed the virus was created using Iranian genetic data to specifically target Iran, The Associated Press reported. “I do not know how real this accusation is but when it exists, who in their right mind would trust you to bring them medication?” Khamenei said, as reported by the AP. “Possibly your medicine is a way to spread the virus more.” He then claimed that the coronavirus “is specifically built for Iran using the genetic data of Iranians which they have obtained through different means.” As the AP noted, there is no evidence to support this accusation. “You might send people as doctors and therapists, maybe they would want to come here and see the effect of the poison they have produced in person,” Khamenei added. More from the AP: There is no scientific proof offered anywhere in the world to support Khamenei’s claims. However, his comments come after Chinese government spokesman Lijian Zhao tweeted earlier this month that it “might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan. Be transparent! Make public your data! US owe(s) us an explanation!” Lijian likewise offered no evidence to support his claim, which saw the U.S. State Department summon China’s ambassador to complain. A Chinese state newspaper tweeted Sunday another allegation trying to link the virus to Italy, similarly hard-hit by the outbreak. Wuhan is the Chinese city where the first cases of the disease were detected in December. Khomenei made his unsubstantiated claims on Sunday in a speech that was televised live across Iran. Sunday is Nowruz, the Persian New Year. Khomenei made the remarks during a broadcast marking the event and the Islamic commemoration Isra and Miraj. “His comments come as Iran has over 21,600 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus amid 1,685 reported deaths, according to government figures released Sunday. Experts still fear Iran may be underreporting its cases,” the AP reported. “Iran is one of the hardest-hit countries in the world by the new virus, sweeping across leaders in both its civilian government and Shiite theocracy. Across the Mideast, Iran represents eight of 10 cases of the virus and those leaving the Islamic Republic have carried the virus to other countries.” The U.S. has offered aid to Iran to help stop the coronavirus, but the country has refused the help, claiming America was being disingenuous in its attempts at the country struggles with U.S. sanctions. The AP also reported that this isn’t the first time Iranian leaders have chosen to believe conspiracy theories that make the U.S. look bad. “Iranian hard-liners have supported conspiracy theories in the past when it suited their interests. Following the Sept. 11 attacks, some publicly doubted al-Qaida’s role and state TV promoting the unfounded conspiracy theory that the Americans blew up the building themselves,” the AP reported. “Former hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad similarly raised doubt about the Sept. 11 attack, calling it a ‘big lie,’ while also describing the Holocaust as a ‘myth.’”

www.dailywire.com/news/teachers-blame-de-blasio-schools-chancellor-for-spread-of-coronavirus-the-blood-is-on-their-handsTeachers in Brooklyn are blasting New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza for failing to close public schools early enough, which the teachers claim facilitated the spread of coronavirus at one particular school. At least five teachers from Brooklyn Technical High School teachers have called their union chapter leader, Nate Bonheimer, to tell him they had tested positive for COVID-19, the New York Post reported. Even with the information, the Brooklyn Department of Education ordered staffers at BTHS to go to work last week, claiming the building had been cleaned. “The DOE did not close the school for any of the cases,” Bonheimer told the Post, adding that the school’s demand that staffers still go to work may have exposed more people to the coronavirus. On March 9, the New York Education Department directed schools to close for 24 hours “in order to begin an investigation to determine the contacts that the individual may have had within the school environment.” The Post reported that Brooklyn did not follow the directive, nor did its DOE try to figure out who may have had contacts with any individual that tested positive for COVID-19, according to Bonheimer. “They did not alert the people who needed to know the most to protect themselves, their families and everyone else they came into contact with,” he said. The outrage among teachers has reached a point where some are calling the coronavirus the “Carranzavirus,” and criticizing Carranza and de Blasio for failing to close public schools. “You say equity and excellence, but every other school district closed before you did. You had these kids like petri dishes spreading this to their families,” one administrator told the Post. One DOE employee told the Post that some believe de Blasio and Carranza squashed information about the teachers testing positive for COVID-19, which put more people at risk, saying, “The blood is on their hands.” More from the Post: DOE staffers think the two city leaders tried to cover up the cases because they wanted to keep the 1.1-million-student system running despite increasing pressure to shut it down. Finally, with Gov. Andrew Cuomo about to do it, the mayor relented and closed the schools for students on March 16. They will remain shut until at least April 20, after the spring break. An expert agreed the failure to notify health officials was dangerous. “The chancellor was not properly following state policy,” said Aaron Carroll, a health sciences researcher and pediatrician at Indiana University School of Medicine. Carranza sent an email – obtained by the Post – on March 10 that told school administrators not to tell city health officials about any students or staff members who tested positive for COVID-19.
“At the moment, there is no reason for any school to call [the Health Department] to report potential or confirmed cases,” Carranza wrote in the email. He said the Health Department would get the information via test results from labs.

Cuomo spent more money than the cost of the ventilators on a solar panel boondoggle, reports former New York Lieutenant Governor Betsy McCaughey (R) in a syndicated column published this past week. McCaughey reports the Cuomo administration decided instead to establish “triage officers” to decide in a crisis who would get a ventilator and who would be left to die. www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2020/03/18/new_yorks_ventilator_rationing_plan_142685.html…After learning that the state’s stockpile of medical equipment had 16,000 fewer ventilators than New Yorkers would need in a severe pandemic, Gov. Andrew Cuomo came to a fork in the road in 2015. He could have chosen to buy more ventilators. Instead, he asked his health commissioner, Howard Zucker to assemble a task force and draft rules for rationing the ventilators they already had.
That task force came up with rules that will be imposed when ventilators run short. Patients assigned a red code will have the highest access, and other patients will be assigned green, yellow or blue (the worst) depending on a “triage officer’s” decision. In truth, a death officer. Let’s not sugarcoat it. It won’t be up to your own doctor.
Cuomo could have purchased the additional 16,000 needed ventilators for $36,000 apiece or a total of $576 million in 2015. It’s a lot of money but less than the $750 million he threw away on a boondoggle “Buffalo Billion” solar panel factory. When it comes to state budget priorities, spending half a percent of the budget on ventilators is a no brainer.
Now the pandemic is actually here. Cuomo’s grim reaper rules will be applied. New York City’s deputy commissioner for disease control Demetre Daskalakis is anticipating “some very serious difficult decisions.” So far, in New York City, 1 out of every 4 people with a confirmed case has been hospitalized, and 44% of them have needed a ventilator. Read more2/6
The task force claimed there was no point in buying ventilators because there’s also a shortage of doctors and nurses trained to use them. Five years ago, that problem could have been fixed, too. Even now, the National Disaster Medical System can send staff to hot spots like New York…
