www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/feb/5/james-carville-dems-risk-becoming-an-ideological-c/James Carville: Dems risk becoming an ‘ideological cult,’ media filled with ‘AOC crazy’ reporters James Carville said the Democratic Party has a stark choice before it: “Do we want to be an ideological cult? Or do we want to have a majoritarian instinct to be a majority party?” One of former President Bill Clinton’s famous “War Room” political strategists told MSNBC this week that his party — and much of the media — is flirting with disaster if it continues to go “AOC crazy.” “This party needs to wake up and make sure that we talk about things are relevant to people,” he said Tuesday. “We need to go back to 2018 where we had good, diverse, strong candidates that had real connections to the community and talked about real things.” “We’re like talking about people voting from jail cells,” he said. “We’re talking about not having a border. I mean, come on, people. Everyday people are out there struggling. We’re trying to get votes in Northern Wisconsin and Western Pennsylvania.”

www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-lawmaker-democrat-professor-call-for-pelosi-to-resign-speakershipBREAKING: Lawmaker, Democrat Professor Call For Pelosi To Resign Speakership A top congressman and prominent Democrat law professor are both calling on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to resign after her conduct during President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address last night. Rep. Lee Zeldin responded to Pelosi ripping up Trump’s State of the Union address by writing: “Nancy Pelosi should step down as Speaker. I’m confident that the American public will be directly sending her that message themselves later this year if she doesn’t read the tea leaves herself and resign on her own terms today. It’s time.” George Washington University Law professor Jonathan Turley, a self-described Democrat, also joined Zeldin in calling for Pelosi to step down following her conduct, calling her a “partisan troll.” Turley wrote about the first time that he walked onto the floor of the House of Representatives 44 years ago, saying, “The country was deeply divided, but both parties maintained the tradition of civility and decorum. I was struck how members, even in the heat of furious debates, would not attack each other by name and followed rigid principles of decorum. They understood that they were the custodians of this institution and bore a duty to strengthen and pass along those traditions to the next generation.” Turley continued, “At that moment, she represents the House as an institution — both Republicans and Democrats. Instead, she decided to become little more than a partisan troll from an elevated position. The protests of the Democratic members also reached a new low for the House. Pelosi did not gavel out the protest. She seemed to join it.” “It was the tradition of the House that a speaker must remain in stone-faced neutrality no matter what comes off that podium. The tradition ended last night with one of the more shameful and inglorious moments of the House in its history. Rather than wait until she left the floor, she decided to demonstrate against the President as part of the State of the Union and from the Speaker’s chair. That made it a statement not of Pelosi but of the House,” Turley concluded. “For those of us who truly love the House as an institution, it was one of the lowest moments to unfold on the floor. That is why I argue in the Hill that, if Pelosi does not apologize and agree to honor the principle of neutrality and civility at the State of the Union, she should resign as speaker.” Several minutes prior to Zeldin calling for Pelosi to resign, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) called for an investigation to be opened up into Pelosi and for a criminal referral to be made into potential crimes she committed with her conduct during the State of the Union. In a letter addressed to Ethics Committee Chairman Ted Deutch (D-FL), Gaetz requested that the Committee open an investigation “into Speaker Pelosi’s flagrant violation of decorum, as defined in clauses 1 and 2 of House Rule XXIII, and request a criminal referral for her potential violation of 18 U.S.C. §2071 (Concealment, removal, or mutilation of documents), following President Trump’s recent State of the Union address of February 4, 2020. Her unseemly behavior certainly warrants censure.” Gaetz said that Pelosi potentially committed a crime by violating 18 U.S.C. §2071: (a)Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both. (b)Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States. As used in this subsection, the term “office” does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.

www.foxnews.com/media/nancy-pelosi-tears-trump-state-union-gaetz-ethics-charges.ampHouse Judiciary Committee member Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., said Wednesday he will be filing ethics charges against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., over what he called her "temper tantrum" following President Trump's State of the Union address the previous evening. Gaetz told Laura Ingraham on "The Ingraham Angle" that he will join two other Republicans and file the charges with the House Ethics Committee on Thursday. Reps. Lee Zeldin of New York and Kay Granger of Texas will join him, he said. "[Pelosi] disgraced the House of Representatives, she embarrassed our country and she destroyed official records. The law does not allow the Speaker of the House to destroy the records of the House and the rules of the House do not permit some little temper tantrum just because you don't like what the president of the United States says," he said.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi held a press conference on Thursday and used her platform to once again attack President Trump.
Pelosi lashed out at CNN reporter Manu Raju after he asked her if ripping up Trump’s SOTU speech sent the wrong message.
Pelosi slammed her hand on the lectern several times as she yelled, “I don’t need a lesson from anybody!”
“Did you step on that message [taking the high ground] by tearing up the State of the Union?” Manu Raju asked.
“No I did not! No I did not!” Pelosi responded.
“I tore up a manifesto of mistruths. It’s very hard for us to get you to talk about the issues that we are working on,” Pelosi said slamming her hand on the lectern.
“It was necessary to get the attention of the American people, to say this is not true…And I don’t need any lessons from anybody, especially the president of the United States, about dignity.”
WATCH:
I swear, this woman is losing it.

www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/02/06/nancy-pelosi-uses-debunked-charlottesville-hoax-to-attack-trump/amp/Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) cited the debunked claim Thursday that President Donald Trump had praised neo-Nazis and white supremacists who marched in Charlottesville in August 2017. Pelosi was answering a softball question from a reporter about whether the president wanted “payback” for impeachment. After attacking Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday as an “insult,” Pelosi said Trump was “giving encouragement to people to do things” — things such as Charlottesville: Just as, remember, Charlottesville. People were coming down that hill, with tiki torches, saying, “The Jews will not replace us, The Jews will not replace us,” and what was the president’s statement? “There are good people on both sides.” Really? “The Jews will not replace us’ and ‘good people on both sides”? In fact, as the transcript of his remarks confirms, President Trump “condemned totally” the neo-Nazis and white supremacists in Charlottesville, and used the phrase “fine people” to refer to non-violent protesters who demonstrated both for and against the removal of a Confederate statue from a local park. www.politico.com/story/2017/08/15/full-text-trump-comments-white-supremacists-alt-left-transcript-241662Former Vice President Joe Biden continues to use the Charlottesville “fine people hoax,” even after Breitbart News confronted him last year at the Iowa State Fair with the fact that it was simply untrue. Pelosi also reiterated that the president is “impeached forever,” even after he had been acquitted by the Senate on Wednesday. She also misquoted him as saying that the “Second Amendment [sic] enables me to do whatever I want.” Trump was citing his Article II powers with regard to his authority to hire and fire executive branch officials, not to his power in general. When asked whether it had been appropriate for her to tear up his State of the Union address on Tuesday evening, she defended her actions vehemently, adding that she believed that the president had looked “sedated” when he delivered his speech.

www.zerohedge.com/political/suspicions-fly-after-dnc-chair-calls-immediate-recanvass-iowa-caucusSuspicions Fly After DNC Chair Calls For 'Immediate Recanvass' Of Iowa Caucus DNC Chairman Tom Perez has called for an 'immediate recanvass' of the Iowa caucuses on Thursday after an app create by former Clinton and Obama staffers botched the count. "Enough is enough," tweeted Perez Thursday afternoon, via Politico. "In light of the problems that have emerged in the implementation of the delegate selection plan and in order to assure public confidence in the results, I am calling on the Iowa Democratic Party to immediately begin a recanvass." While former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg claimed victory, he was virtually tied with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) at 26% with 97% of precincts reporting. According to the Associated Press, the race was too close to call. The recount means that nobody will know exactly who won Iowa going into Friday night's Democratic debate in New Hampshire, which holds its primary Tuesday. Perez's tweet has stoked controversy among many who recall how the DNC stacked the deck against Sanders in the 2016 election amid Hillary Clinton's de-facto control over the organization. Needless to say, Donald Trump was the real winner in Iowa.

www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/02/06/utah-gop-denounces-mitt-romneys-vote-to-convict-president-trump/amp/The Utah GOP formally denounced Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) after he voted to convict President Trump, reaffirming its firm support of the commander-in-chief and ripping the Democrats’ impeachment effort as a means to “distract America from the serious issues we face.” The Utah Republican Party is pleased to see President Trump completely acquitted by the United States Senate. We appreciate the service rendered to our state by Utah’s two senators,” the party said in a statement on Twitter following the president’s full acquittal. “As a party, we strongly disagree with the vote cast today by Senator Romney,” it continued. “We stand firmly behind our President, whose policies have created unprecedented levels of American prosperity,” the Utah GOP wrote. “The impeachment effort has served only to distract America from the serious issues we face, and in November voters will hold Democrats accountable for this distraction,” it added: The failed presidential candidate told his colleagues on Wednesday he would vote to convict President Trump, claiming he “is guilty of an appalling abuse of public trust.” “The personal consequences, the political consequences that fall on me as a result of that are going to be extraordinary,” Romney said. He continued: But I swore an oath before God, and I am a religious person, that I would imply impartial justice and implying impartial justice said what the president did was grievously wrong. And I had to vote if I was going to live with my own conscience, in a way that was consistent with that oath of office. Prominent Republicans across the board are calling for the GOP to expel Romney over his decision. Trump is already taking shots at the “slick, slippery, stealthy” lawmaker:

www.breitbart.com/2020-election/2020/02/06/iowa-democrats-snub-dnc-well-recanvass-if-any-campaign-requests-it/The Iowa Democrat Party on Thursday seemingly rejected a request from Democrat National Committee (DNC) chairman Tom Perez to recanvass its caucus amid growing concerns over the accuracy in its delayed results. “Should any presidential campaign in compliance with the Iowa Delegate Selection Plan request a recanvass, the IDP is prepared,” Iowa Democrat Party Chairman Troy Price said in a statement. “This is the official record of the Iowa Democratic caucus, and we are committed to ensuring the results accurately reflect the preference of Iowans,” he added. Earlier Thursday, Perez asked state Democrat officials to recanvass the caucus vote. “Enough is enough. In light of the problems that have emerged in the implementation of the delegate selection plan and in order to assure public confidence in the results, I am calling on the Iowa Democratic Party to immediately begin a recanvass,” Perez tweeted. His demand came after the New York Times reported that results published on Wednesday were riddled with mistakes and inconsistencies. “In some cases, vote tallies do not add up. In others, precincts are shown allotting the wrong number of delegates to certain candidates. And in at least a few cases, the Iowa Democratic Party’s reported results do not match those reported by the precincts,” according to the Times. Price denied that the technical difficulties from a shadowy results app — created by a company named “Shadow, Inc.” with ties to Silicon Valley power players and Democratic operatives — affected the tally. “Throughout the collection of records of results, the IDP identified inconsistencies in the data and used our redundant paper records to promptly correct those errors,” his statement declared. “The IDP is nearing completion in collecting redundant materials from all 1,756 precincts, including hand-collecting materials from all 99 counties which are securely stored in Des Moines.” On Thursday morning, former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg held a narrow lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), with the candidates garnering 26.2 percent and 26 percent of the vote, respectively. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) placed third place with 18.2 percent, while former Vice President Joe Biden sat in fourth with 15.8 percent. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) took fifth place with 12.2 percent. Such figures represent 97 percent of the released votes. The caucus crisis was an embarrassing twist after months of promoting Iowa as a chance for Democrats to find some clarity in a jumbled 2020 field. Instead, after a buildup that featured seven rounds of debates, nearly $1 billion spent nationwide and a year of political jockeying, caucus day ended with no winner and no official results. Campaigning in New Hampshire, Sanders declared a “strong victory” for his campaign in the caucuses and called the Iowa Democrat Party’s management a “screw-up” that has been “extremely unfair” to the candidates and their supporters. “I really do feel bad for the people of Iowa,” said Sanders, who added that it was “an outrage that they were that unprepared.” Iowa marked the first contest in a primary season that will span all 50 states and several U.S. territories, ending at the party’s national convention in July. The trouble began with an app that the Iowa Democratic Party used to tabulate the results of the contest. The app was rolled out shortly before caucusing began and did not go through rigorous testing. The problems were compounded when phone lines for reporting the outcomes became jammed, with many callers placed on hold for hours in order to report outcomes. Party officials said the backlog was exacerbated by calls from people around the country who accessed the number and appeared intent on disrupting the process

Dems use APP tied to Clinton, Obama, Zuckerburg, Mayor Pete, etc, & it didn’t work. So, nothing left to do but blame Trump and his supporters for it not working: www.breitbart.com/2020-election/2020/02/06/nolte-democrats-blame-trump-supporters-for-iowa-debacle/Democrats are now blaming Trump supporters for the ongoing, slow-motion trainwreck that was the Iowa Caucus. Hey, why the hell not…? President Trump and/or his supporters have already been blamed for mass shootings, for the shooting down of a passenger plane, for a Hillary Clinton supporter threatening a mosque, for a grocery store spat between two Democrats, for immigration cages built by Barack Obama, for suicides, for Jussie Smollett’s hoax, and for conjuring up a hurricane… So it was only a matter of time before Democrats blamed MAGA World for this Iowa debacle. First, a little context… The Iowa Caucus took place on Monday. Today is Thursday. Thanks to the dismally low turnout, there are only about 172,000 votes to count. There are 170 Democrat precinct captains in Iowa. In a fit of generosity, let’s assume the precinct captains have no staff whatsoever. That’s 170 people responsible for counting 172,000 votes; which divvies up to around 1000 votes per staffer, and yet… Democrats still haven’t finished counting all the votes. As of this writing, only 96 percent of the vote has been counted. But, yeah, let’s blame Trump supporters: Supporters of President Donald Trump flooded a hotline used by Iowa precinct chairs to report Democratic caucus results after the telephone number was posted online, worsening delays in the statewide tally, a top state Democrat told party leaders on a conference call Wednesday night. According to two participants on the call, Ken Sagar, a state Democratic central committee member, was among those answering the hotline on caucus night and said people called in and expressed support for Trump. The phone number became public after people posted photos of caucus paperwork that included the hotline number, one of the people on the call said. The phone call Wednesday night between the Iowa Democratic Party staff and state central committee, the party’s elected governing body, came as the party was still counting results. So not only did the very same people who want total control of our health care completely botch the launch of the app that was supposed to make phoning in vote results unnecessary, and not only have the very same people who want total control of our health care still failed to count a measly 172,000 votes over three-plus days, but the very same people who want to control our health care are so stupid they published the phone number of their hotline on Twitter. Oh, and let’s not forget the very same people who want total control of our health care are so childish and unable to take personal responsibility, they’re willing to insult the intelligence of anyone with an IQ over room temperature by blaming Trump supporters. Sure, I can see how some crank calls could slow things up … for a bit. If you really want to stretch, not that anyone is even alleging this, I can imagine a coordinated campaign of crank calls bringing things to a standstill for — again, to be generous — maybe a day. But it’s THURSDAY, you yahoos! It’s freakin’ THURSDAY, and you idiots still haven’t completed counting the vote. And the idea that any amount of crank could slow down the reporting process for the 20 minutes it would take Normal People to figure out a workaround via — you know, email, perhaps? How about the precinct captain’s cell phone? — is ludicrous. Bottom line…. Had the precinct captains tabulated the votes and dropped the results in the snail mail, this all would have been done yesterday. You’d have to be insane to want people this incompetent and dishonest to hold any power of you or your health care.

Back to blaming Russia: thefederalist.com/2020/02/06/democrat-congresswoman-blames-iowa-caucus-disaster-on-russia/Democrat Congresswoman Blames Iowa Caucus Disaster On Russia FEBRUARY 6, 2020 By Tristan Justice Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas suggested Wednesday that the Russians were behind the vote-reporting app crashing during Monday’s Iowa Democratic caucuses. At an FBI oversight hearing in the House Judiciary Committee with FBI Director Christopher Wray, Jackson Lee said she hoped Iowa Democrats would press the FBI to study the Russia’s involvement in the Iowa caucuses, where full results were yet to be released four days later. “I hope that the Iowa Democrats will ask for an FBI investigation on the app,” Jackson Lee told Wray. “I believe that Russia has been engaged in and interfering with a number of our elections dealing with the 2016 election.” Video Player 00:00 02:13 Jackson Lee’s assertion comes as Iowa Democrats face scrutiny for using an app with major flaws to report caucus results to the state party to determine the winner. “Certainly, we are also concerned about potential Russian interference with our elections,” Wray responded. “That’s why I created the foreign influence task force, which is acutely focused on that topic among other nation states that are attempting to influence our elections.” According to The New York Times, the app used in Iowa had been engineered in the state just in the past two months and had not been tested statewide. The app had also not been vetted by the Department of Homeland Security’s cybersecurity agency and was sent to volunteers without any training. While there is no evidence to suggest hackers corrupted the app on Monday, ProPublica found that the app lacked “key safeguards” to protect the integrity of the election and could have been compromised by a skilled hacker. Former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg is neck-and-neck with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in the Iowa caucuses, with 97 percent of precincts reporting as of 1 p.m. last night. Sanders, however, leads in the first and second popular votes and is tied for delegates with Buttigieg.

Reminder, this author is a Democrat: www.zerohedge.com/political/turley-nancy-pelosi-should-resignTurley: Nancy Pelosi Should Resign Profile picture for user Tyler Durden by Tyler Durden Thu, 02/06/2020 - 13:30 Authored by Jonathan Turley, op-ed via The Hill.com, thehill.com/opinion/white-house/481598-nancy-pelosi-should-resignThe House has its share of infamies, great and small, real and symbolic, and has been the scene of personal infamies from brawls to canings. But the conduct of Speaker Nancy Pelosi at the State of the Union address this week will go down as a day of infamy for the chamber as an institution. It has long been a tradition for House speakers to remain stoic and neutral in listening to the address. However, Pelosi seemed to be intent on mocking President Trump from behind his back with sophomoric facial grimaces and head shaking, culminating in her ripping up a copy of his address. Her 'drop the mic' moment will have a lasting impact on the House. While many will celebrate her trolling of the president, she tore up something far more important than a speech. Pelosi has shredded decades of tradition, decorum, and civility that the nation could use now more than ever. The House speaker is more than a political partisan, particularly when carrying out functions such as the State of the Union address. A president appears in the House as a guest of both chambers of Congress. The House speaker represents not her party or herself but the entirety of the chamber. At that moment, she must transcend her own political ambitions and loyalties. Party divisions on display as Trump gives annual State of the Union address Tensions for this address were high. The House impeachment managers sat as a group in front of the president as a reminder of the ongoing trial. That can be excused as a silent but pointed message from the Democrats. Trump hardly covered himself with glory by not shaking hands with Pelosi. I also strongly disliked elements of his address which bordered on “check under your seat” moments, and the awarding of conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh with the Presidential Medal of Freedom inside the House gallery like a Mardi Gras bead toss. However, if Trump made the State of the Union look like Oprah, then Pelosi made it look like Jerry Springer. What followed was an utter disgrace. First, Pelosi dropped the traditional greeting before the start of the address, “Members of Congress, I have the high privilege and distinct honor of presenting to you the president of the United States.” Instead, she simply announced, “Members of Congress, the president of the United States.” It was extremely petty and profoundly inappropriate. Putting aside the fact that this is not her tradition, but that of the House, it is no excuse to note that the president was impeached. Such an indignity was not imposed on President Clinton during his own impeachment proceeding, and anyone respecting due process would note that Trump has been accused, not convicted, at this point in the constitutional process. Pelosi proceeded to repeatedly shake her head, mouth words to others, and visibly disagree with the address. It was like some distempered distracting performance art behind the president. My revulsion over this has nothing to do with impeachment. Six years ago, I wrote a column denouncing Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel Alito for mouthing the words “not true” when President Obama used his address to criticize the court for its decision in the Citizens United case. I considered his response to be a disgrace and wrote a column criticizing Chief Justice John Roberts for not publicly chastising Alito for breach of tradition. Instead, Roberts seemed to defend Alito in criticizing Obama for his “very troubling” language and saying that it was unfair to criticize the court when the justices, “according to the requirements of protocol,” have “to sit there expressionless.” That was not unfair. That was being judicious. I also wrote a column denouncing Republican Representative Joe Wilson, who shouted “you lie!” at Obama during his State of the Union address in 2009. Wilson should have been severely sanctioned for that breach. When I wrote those columns, I had never imagined that a House speaker would engage in conduct far in excess of those controversies. After all, House speakers often have been required to sit through addresses they despised from presidents of the opposing party. The House speaker is third in line of succession to the presidency and the representative of the chamber as a whole. She is not some Sinead O’Connor ripping up a photograph of the pope on Saturday Night Live while shouting aloud “fight the real enemy!” Pelosi, like her predecessors, is supposed to remain stone-faced during the address even if the president leaves her personally enraged. Indeed, House speakers have been the authority who kept other members in silent deference and respect, if not to the president, then to the office. However, Pelosi appeared to goad the mob, like a high schooler making mad little faces behind the school principal at an assembly. It worked as members protested and interrupted Trump. Pelosi became another Democratic leader, little more than a twitching embodiment of this age of rage. This is not to suggest that the House has always listened to its better angels. More than 180 years ago, a confrontation between Democratic Representative Jonathan Cilley and Whig Representative William Graves led to a duel over what Graves viewed as a slight on the House floor. In February 1838, the two decided to meet in Maryland for a duel with rifles, and Graves killed Cilley after both missed each other twice. In response, the House quickly pushed forward antidueling legislation in Congress. Pelosi has demolished decades of tradition with this poorly considered moment. Of course, many will celebrate her conduct and be thrilled by the insult to Trump. However, even those of us who disagree with his policies should consider what Pelosi destroyed in her moment of rage. She shredded the pretense of governing with civility and dignity in the House. Notably, she did not wait to rip up her copy of the speech until after she left the House floor. Pelosi wanted to do it at the end of the speech, in front of the camera, with the president still in the chamber. That act was more important to Pelosi than preserving the tradition of her office. In doing so, she forfeited the right to occupy that office. If Pelosi cannot maintain the dignity and neutrality of her office at the State of the Union, she should resign as the speaker of the House of Representatives.

www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/02/06/republicans-plan-legislative-blitz-to-back-trump-state-of-the-union-agenda/Republicans Plan Legislative Blitz to Back Trump State of the Union Agenda Republicans in the House are planning a full-scale offensive to back up the agenda President Donald Trump presented during Tuesday’s State of the Union address. Beginning with a measure on Thursday from Rep. Denver Riggleman (R-VA), Republicans will offer legislation and other measures to support the American successes Trump laid out in his historic address on Tuesday night. Riggleman presented a resolution for Congress to support Trump’s “Best is Yet to Come” policy blueprint on Thursday, which explicitly highlights the vision Trump detailed in the SOTU. “Supporting policies that are a part of the ‘Best is Yet to Come’ blueprint, outlined by President Trump during his historic, optimistic State of the Union Address,” the resolution’s text states, specifically quoting several passages from Trump’s address. The resolution states in part: Whereas on February 4, 2020, President Trump noted that, “The unemployment rates for African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, and Asian-Americans have reached the lowest levels in history. African-American youth unemployment has reached an all-time low.” It continues, quoting several lines directly from the SOTU address, including: Millions of Americans coming off food stamp rolls; jobs and investment “pouring into 9,000 previously-neglected neighborhoods thanks to Opportunity Zones”; the administration’s promise to stand against socialism and stand up for freedom; the vow to continue “building an inclusive society” by “making sure that every young American gets a great education and the opportunity to achieve the American Dream”; the administration’s commitment to the “One Trillion Trees Initiative”; the administration’s end of the catch-and-release of illegal immigrants; and the administration’s commitment to uphold religious liberty and the “Constitutional right to pray in public schools,” among other examples. The resolution asks Congress to support policies “that further expands the booming economic growth outlined by President Trump in his State of the Union address” and to embrace the “‘Best is Yet to Come’ policy blueprint for the people of the United States” as outlined in the SOTU. “This agenda is an optimistic plan to continue the record-setting economic growth we are seeing and provide solutions to problems that ail American citizens,” Riggleman said on the House floor on Thursday. “It is imperative that Congress step forward and support this agenda as I do,” he added. “[It’s] an agenda that dramatically lowers prescription drug processionals and raises wages for hardworking Americans. An agenda that will build an inclusive society and make sure every young American has the opportunity to achieve the American dream,” he continued, citing the historically low national unemployment rate of 3.5 percent. “It is clear the economic policies the president has implemented are working. The ‘Best is Yet to Come’ blueprint will continue this growth and build upon it,” Riggleman said. “The American economy is stronger than ever, and we should work to continue this growth,” he added. Nevertheless, by advancing the Previous Question on Thursday, House Democrats effectively rejected consideration of the resolution, making it clear on Tuesday night and thereafter that, despite the successes for Americans on a variety of policy fronts, they intend to continue their historic opposition to Trump and his agenda due to personal animosity. “President Trump delivered an incredible speech with policy goals that can unite the country and grow our economy, and House Republicans want to help him follow through on those goals,” a House GOP aide told Breitbart News in an exclusive statement. “Everyone in America needs to understand that the Democrats from districts where President Trump won continuously vote for the agenda of AOC and Pelosi instead of supporting our president,” the aide added. The Democrats’ latest and most severe effort to undercut Trump — the push to impeach him — failed in grand fashion in the U.S. Senate the day after his SOTU address. The Senate voted by substantial margins to acquit the president on all charges brought by the House, which impeached him for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. With less than a year from the November elections, Republicans in the House are intensifying efforts to contrast their backing of the Trump agenda with the Democrats’ far-left, socialist vision. In the coming weeks and months ahead, the GOP will embark on a full-scale effort to differentiate themselves from what President Trump calls the “Do-nothing Democrats” and offer different pieces of legislation to support tenants of the “Best is Yet to Come” blueprint in coming weeks. The GOP needs to take back a net of 18 seats from Democrats in this year’s congressional election in order to retake the House majority from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the Democrats. There are 30 districts currently represented by Democrats that Trump won in 2016 and another 20 districts, roughly, that Republicans believe are competitive this cycle. Putting a focus on policy solutions for Americans — as the president has — could help Republicans contrast their push to help the country with Democrats’ efforts to undermine economic — and other wins — for voters out of partisan spite of Trump.

Video of Harvey Weinstein thanking Bloomberg for helping his film company, etc. Weinstein expressed gratitude that Bloomberg “dropped a lot of things” in order to help his company after it fell on difficult financial times during the recession that began in 2009.
We’ve had tremendous years, but about four-and-a-half years ago there was a bump in the road,” said Weinstein.
“I called our mayor, and I just said, ‘you know, things are a little topsy-turvy here at the company, you know, we’d be moving jobs to California and we don’t want to leave New York City.’ And the mayor, extremely busy as he was with so many more important things, dropped a lot of things and got it done for us.”
“The mayor’s there in a big way. The mayor was there in a visual way,” Weinstein continued.
“And I don’t think Bob and I would be on this stage if the mayor wasn’t there for us, so thank you mayor.”

www.dailywire.com/news/top-democrat-strategist-james-carville-on-2020-elections-were-losing-our-damn-minds-people-dont-want-to-hear-this-stTop Democrat Strategist James Carville On 2020 Elections: ‘We’re Losing Our Damn Minds’, People ‘Don’t Want To Hear This S**t’ Longtime Democratic Party strategist and top Bill Clinton ally James Carville unloaded on the Democratic Party during an interview published on Friday, saying that when it comes to the party’s ideas, the American people “don’t want to hear this s**t” and that Democrats are losing their minds over the upcoming election. When asked by left-wing Vox why he was “scared to death” of the upcoming election, Carville responded, “Look, the turnout in the Iowa caucus was below what we expected, what we wanted. Trump’s approval rating is probably as high as it’s been. This is very bad. And now it appears the party can’t even count votes. What the hell am I supposed to think?” “I’ll just say it this way: The fate of the world depends on the Democrats getting their s**t together and winning in November,” Carville continued. “We have to beat Trump. And so far, I don’t like what I see. And a lot of people I talk to feel the same way.” Carville said he does not know where the party went wrong, considering that it did well in House races in 2018: “Now it’s like we’re losing our damn minds.” It’s fair to note that after the 2018 races, radical far-left Democrats like socialist Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY), Ilhan Omar (MN), and Rashida Tlaib (MI) have driven the party increasingly to the far-left. “We have candidates on the debate stage talking about open borders and decriminalizing illegal immigration,” Carville said. “They’re talking about doing away with nuclear energy and fracking. You’ve got Bernie Sanders talking about letting criminals and terrorists vote from jail cells. It doesn’t matter what you think about any of that, or if there are good arguments — talking about that is not how you win a national election.” Carville said that if Sanders gets elected, “there’s no chance in hell we’ll ever win the Senate with Sanders at the top of the party defining it for the public.” Carville then continued to repeat the lie that “18% of the country elects more than half of our senators,” a false statement that he also made on MSNBC. Newsweek reported that the Republican-controlled Senate seats represent 44% of the U.S. population, not 18% — although the actual number may be as high as 47.19%. When asked if the party has gone too far left, Carville responded, “They’ve tacked off the damn radar screen. And look, I don’t consider myself a moderate or a centrist. I’m a liberal. … Here’s another stupid thing: Democrats talking about free college tuition or debt forgiveness. I’m not here to debate the idea. What I can tell you is that people all over this country worked their way through school, sent their kids to school, paid off student loans. They don’t want to hear this s**t. And you saw Warren confronted by an angry voter over this. It’s just not a winning message.” Carville then claimed, without evidence, that Trump was a “career criminal who’s stealing everything that isn’t nailed down out of the White House.” Carville then went off on the leftist mainstream media over a New York Times editorial board member’s mocking comments about Louisiana State University (LSU) canceling classes for the NCAA football national championship game, saying: “You know how f***ing patronizing that is to people in the South or in the middle of the country? First, LSU has an unusually high graduation rate, but that’s not the point. It’s the g*****n smugness. This is from a guy who lives in New York and serves on the Times editorial board and there’s not a single person he knows that doesn’t pat him on the back for that kind of tweet. He’s so fucking smart. … The Democratic Party has to drive a narrative that doesn’t give off vapors that we’re smarter than everyone or culturally arrogant.”

www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/02/07/pete-buttigieg-argues-for-end-of-electoral-college-after-iowa-victory-without-popular-vote/Former Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D) argued that the popular vote should take precedence in a presidential election, just after he lost the popular vote to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in Iowa. “I think that the Electoral College has run its course and in the future, we ought to pick our presidents in a way that makes sure that the one who got the most votes actually gets to be president,” Buttigieg said in a CNN town hall on Thursday. Buttigieg won the Iowa caucuses with 564 state delegate equivalents, while Sanders only won 562. But Sanders won the popular vote, with a 6,114 vote lead in the first vote and a 2,631 vote lead in the second vote. Since first announcing his campaign for president, Buttigieg has joined prominent Democrats calling for an end to the electoral college after failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton lost to President Donald Trump in 2016. Buttigieg made a splash in liberal circles after he boldly called for the end to the electoral college while announcing his run for president. “We can’t say it’s much of a democracy when twice in my lifetime the Electoral College has overruled the American people,” he said at his campaign kickoff rally in South Bend, Indiana, in April. Buttigieg called for a constitutional amendment to change the way that federal elections are run, calling the electoral college “undemocratic.” “I think most Americans, of any party, ought to be able to get on board with the idea that one person, one vote, counting equally, is the fairest way to choose our president,” he said in June. Trump has argued in favor of the electoral college. “With the Popular Vote, you go to just the large States – the Cities would end up running the country,” Trump wrote on Twitter in March. “Smaller States and the entire Midwest would end up losing all power – and we can’t let that happen.”

www.breitbart.com/2020-election/2020/02/07/pete-buttigieg-new-hampshire-most-important-issue/A high school teacher stumped former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg at a CNN town hall in New Hampshire on Thursday when she asked what his most important issue was, and he struggled to answer. After fumbling for a response, Buttigieg fell back on arguing that “the shape of our democracy” was the most important issue because it was connected to every other issue. He explained that meant “getting money out of politics” — an odd response for a candidate who has raised money aggressively among the Silicon Valley elite. CNN anchor Chris Cuomo noted that Buttigieg had not really answered the question. “I’ve disappointed a lot of high school teachers in my life, and I know the look on her face right now,” Cuomo quipped. So Buttigieg tried again, praising a bill passed by House Democrats, H.R. 1, the “For the People Act,” calling it a “pro-democracy, anti-corruption bill … to make sure that voting rights are secure, that districts are fair.” Conservative critics have noted that H.R. 1 would change the rules of voting to impose California-style elections on the country to ensure more Democratic Party victories. (Some of the reforms Democrats favor were used in the recent Iowa caucuses, which were supposed to kick off “the most transparent primary in our history,” but which merely created chaos, confusion, and claims of vote-rigging.) Cuomo noted again, playfully, that Buttigieg had failed to answer the question. “You’ve never gotten bad grades. As somebody who has, I’m just saying, look…”. The Buttigieg campaign, however, released a meme on Twitter celebrating his response. #CNNTownHall pic.twitter.com/lt4yVD7Krz — Pete Buttigieg (@petebuttigieg) February 7, 2020 Cuomo then asked Buttigieg how he would “make this one thing happen” — though Buttigieg had not identified precisely what that “one thing” was — if Republicans still controlled the Senate. Buttigieg replied that he would campaign in the states of Republican Senators and reach out directly to their voters — something President Barack Obama did repeatedly in attempting to drum up support for his more controversial initiatives, to little avail.

www.breitbart.com/2020-election/2020/02/07/live-updates-democrats-debate-in-new-hampshire-2/Presidential candidates Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, Andrew Yang, and Tom Steyer will debate in New Hampshire on Friday evening. The Democratic debate–co-hosted by ABC News, Apple News and WMUR-TV–will be held at Saint Anselm College. ABC’s David Muir, George Stephanopoulos, and Linsey Davis will moderate with WMUR’s Monica Hernandez and Adam Sexton. Stay tuned to Breitbart News for live updates. All times eastern. — 8:31 PM: Steyer references Stephanopoulos’s role in the 1992 campaign (It’s the economy stupid) and Steyer says he is the best candidate to take down Trump on the economy because of his success in the private sector. He says he is worried about Mayor Pete because he won’t be able to go toe to toe with Trump on the debate stage to take down Trump on the economy. 8:29 PM: Klobuchar, for some reason, seems to have the best attacks against Buttigieg: Yikes! Here's the Buttigieg tweet Klobuchar just referred to. 8:24 PM: Buttigieg claims he has been consistent throughout on health care and says voters have plenty of choices if they want a candidate with the most experience in D.C. Biden says the past wasn’t that bad and lists policies that he supported. Buttigieg says those achievements were great because they met the moment but we can’t solve today’s problems with policies from the past. 8:19 PM: Biden hits Sanders on “Medicare for all”–saying Bernie may have “wrote the damn thing” but won’t say much the damn thing will cost. He says he busted his neck getting Obamacare passed and implies Sanders will never get his bill passed. Biden says Sanders’ plan will raise taxes and says his own plan will give people “Medicare if they want it.” 8:15 PM: Buttigieg says Trump is a “fundamentally new challenge” and the biggest risk will be falling back on the familiar. He says Sanders is divisive and has a “my way or the highway” mentality that rejects anyone who doesn’t go “all the way to the edge” with him on left-wing policies. Sanders says you bring people together with an agenda that favors the working class and not the billionaires who back Buttigieg. He says the way you bring people together is by also guaranteeing health care as a “human right.” 8:13 PM: Warren says Democrats can all agree on ending corruption and being on the side of hard-working people. 8:11 PM: Yang says it’s great to be back on the debate stage. He says the capitalism/socialism dichotomy is out of date because of the advance of technology. He talks about his “human-centered version of capitalism.” 8:10 PM: Steyer warns that there is a “real threat” Trump can be re-elected after this week and he agrees with Sanders that Democrats must increase turn out, especially blacks and Latinos, and “across the spectrum of Democratic voters.” Steyer says Democrats cannot choose a candidate who can’t turn out Latinos and black voters. 8:07 PM: Sanders asked to respond to Trump’s criticisms about “socialism.” Sanders says Democrats shouldn’t be worried because “Donald Trump lies all the time.” Sanders says they are all going to stand together to defeat Trump “no matter who wins this damn thing.” He says Democrats will beat Trump by energizing voters, especially turning out working-class and young people who have tuned out the political process. He says he won the popular vote by 6,000 votes in Iowa and increased the turn out among young voters. Stephanopoulos asks a follow-up about low turnout in Iowa and Sanders doesn’t have a good response. Klobuchar raises her hand when asked if she is concerned about having a “socialist” on the top of the ticket. She implies that Sanders will be too divisive. 8:05 PM: Biden gets the first question about why Buttigieg and Sanders won in Iowa after Biden said they were too risky. He says Democrats may not be able to take back the Senate because Trump will label everyone on the ticket a “Democratic Socialist.” Biden, lowering expectations, says he expects to take a “hit” in New Hampshire on Tuesday as well. 8:02 PM: Moderators introduce the candidates as the debate is about to get started. One of Team Bernie’s arguments against Buttigieg: 7:42 PM: Podium order for the top of the hour: 7:38 PM: Sanders campaign adviser Jeff Weaver tells CNN that Sanders will not be beholden to billionaires because they think they can raise $1 billion in the general election from small-dollar donations. 7:35 PM: “Sharper elbows” probably expected from everyone tonight.
