Nine out of 11 swing voters who took part in a focus group in Ohio said impeachment is a distraction from the issues they care most about — wages and unemployment, border security, bringing troops home, and health care costs and access.

The focus group — convened by Axios and Engagious/FPG last week — showed that swing voters are “expressing a range of unease about impeaching President Trump,” according to an Axios report.

The fears range from impeaching hurting the economy to frustrations that House Democrats are most invested in going after Trump than in helping people, said the report…

President Donald Trump said at a campaign rally on Thursday in Dallas, Texas, that Democrats and the left want to change the makeup of the United States Supreme Court to destroy the Constitution.

“They want to install far left judges to shred the Constitution,” Trump said at the rally that attracted 20,000 people inside the America Airlines Center and thousands more outside the venue.

Trump also mentioned the left’s failed attack on now Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh, calling it “the disgusting smearing of a fine man — Justice Kavanaugh,” Trump said.

Trump’s remarks about the left trying to pack the court with activist judges who don’t believe in the originalist view of the Constitution comes just days after the left-wing group Demand Justice released a list of the individuals it hoped would be nominated for a seat on the High Court.

Outraged by secretly-taped anti-Trump comments attributed to CNN President Jeff Zucker and others at the cable network, President Trump’s campaign is vowing to sue the company for “a substantial payment of damages.”

Listing several examples from the just-released Project Veritas videotapes of CNN insiders describing Zucker’s demand for “impeachment above all else,” Harder wrote that they “are merely the tip of the iceberg of the evidence my clients have accumulated over recent years.”

He added, “Never in the history of this country has a President been the subject of such a sustained barrage of unfair, unfounded, unethical and unlawful attacks by so-called ‘mainstream’ news, as the current situation.”

While media is typically protected by the First Amendment, Harder said the bias he cited at CNN was a violation of the Lanham Act “by constituting misrepresentations to the public, to your advertisers, and to others” to distribute “truly fair and balanced” news.

“Accordingly, my clients intend to file legal action against you, to seek compensatory damages, treble damages, punitive damages, injunctive relief, reimbursement of legal costs, and all other available legal and equitable remedies, to the maximum extent permitted by law,” said the letter.

What’s more, he suggested that even if the campaign and CNN come to an agreement, he would seek money as part of that deal.

President Donald Trump excoriated Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) on Saturday morning after the Democratic presidential candidate announced she would not take part in a criminal justice forum at a historically black college after the president was given a “Bipartisan Justice Award.”

“Badly failing presidential candidate [Harris] will not go to a very wonderful largely African American event today because yesterday I received a major award, at the same event, for being able to produce [and] sign into law major Criminal Justice Reform legislation,” Trump wrote in a series of tweets. “Which will greatly help the African American community (and all other communities), and which was unable to get done in past administrations despite a tremendous desire for it.”

“This and best unemployment numbers EVER is more than Kamala will EVER be able to do for African Americans!” he continued.

The 20/20 Bipartisan Justice Center, who is slated to host the upcoming forum at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina, presented Trump with the Bipartisan Justice Award on Friday. The president received the award for his efforts in championing the First Step Act, which has allowed thousands of non-violent offenders to gain early release from federal prisons and provide programs to help reduce recidivism.

Trump appeared at the event to deliver a keynote address and accept the award, remarking that it was a “true honor.”

Harris was scheduled to speak at Benedict College’s event on Saturday, but she subsequently withdrew from the forum in protest over Trump’s award.

“As the only candidate who attended , I know the importance that these spaces hold for young Black Americans,” Harris wrote in a statement.

“Today, when it became clear Donald Trump would receive an award after decades of celebrating mass incarceration, pushing the death penalty for innocent Black Americans, rolling back police accountability measures and racist behavior that puts people’s lives at risk, and then learned all but ten Benedict students are excluded from participating, I cannot in good faith be complicit in papering over his record,” the statement continued.

Rather than participating in the event, Harris’ campaign announced that she will instead hold a criminal justice roundtable at another location on the college’s campus.

Other Democratic presidential hopefuls will still be taking part in the event over the weekend, including former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, former Housing Secretary Julián Castro, former Rep. John Delaney (D-MD), Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

“My whole life I’ve fought for justice and for the people — something you’d know nothing about,” Harris responded to Trump on Saturday. “The only part of criminal justice you can claim credit for is the ‘criminal’ part.”

The move comes as the California senator has been noticeably slipping in the polls. After months of stagnant fundraising and steadily declining poll numbers, she slid from the frontrunner in her home state of California to receiving only single-digit support.

As of publication, Harris sits at 5.3% support among Democratic primary voters, according to the RealClearPolitics national polling average. She has not hit double digits in the polls since August 2019.

The field of 2020 Democratic presidential candidates refused to give President Donald Trump any credit for authorizing a raid on ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, which resulted in his death.

“Of course” it’s different to run for president as a black woman, she said. “When there is not a reference point for who can do what, there is a lack of ability or a difficulty in imagining that someone who we have never seen can do a job that has been done, you know, forty-five times by someone who is not that person.”

“I have also started to perhaps be more candid” or speak with “a candor in terms of the politics of race in the way that I’m talking during my town halls and in my rallies.”

At this stage in the game, Harris and the rest of the Democratic field are trying to win over Democratic primary voters, naturally, because that’s how the process works. First, you win a lot of primaries. Second, if you have the required number of delegates then you win the nomination.

So she’s basically accusing voters in her own party of not being ready to see a woman of color in the role of president. This in spite of the fact that a black man won the Democratic nomination in 2008 and ultimately the presidency. A woman won their nomination in 2016. Plus, Sen. Elizabeth Warren is now sitting alongside Joe Biden at the top of the pack.

Doesn’t it stand to reason that if Democratic voters are willing to elevate a woman to the top tier in the last two presidential primary cycles and a black man to the nomination back in 2008 that they would be more receptive to a woman of color this time around if she had a message that appealed to them?

CASEY MCDERMOTT: Regardless of what kind of money is involved, Medicare for All would likely result in a pretty significant shift in how our healthcare system is structured. And even supporters of that approach within the health policy world have said that that likely would mean lost jobs in some form. An economist at the University of Massachusetts Amherst told Kaiser Health News earlier this year that that could result in about 2 million jobs lost. He said this would be mostly administrative positions and insurers, doctors’ offices, and he said that politicians who want to move toward that system, Medicare for All, have to think about what “just transition,” a fair transition would look like. What would that look like for you?

SEN. ELIZABETH WARREN: So, I agree. I think this is part of the cost issue and should be part of the cost plan. Although, do recognize on this what we are talking about and that is, in effect, how much of our healthcare dollars have not gone to healthcare. How many of those dollars have been pulled out in other directions? Think about the for-profit insurance system we have that lays at the very middle of our healthcare delivery system. That system made $23 billion in profits last year and that’s after all the executive salaries, all the administrative people, all the fancy glass office buildings they built, and how do they make those profits? Think about it. It’s how much they took in for premiums and then turned around and said “no,” and every time they said “no,” they made another dollar of profits. That’s just not a sustainable healthcare system.

The 2020 Democrat presidential candidates are so enthralled by the corporate media and far-left influencers, they are openly embracing socialism, even though only 19 percent of Americans identify as socialists.
Medicare for All is straight-up socialism. It’s stripping 150 million Americans of the health insurance they are satisfied with to force us into a one-size-fits-all, government-run system. Remember how well that worked out for the Veterans Administration? How many people died?

We are worried about an epidemic of obesity among the “poor,” and just this week we learned that the children of the “poor” spend more time in front of an electric screen than the non-poor. In other words, poor people have too much food and munch on all that food while enjoying their iPads and iPhones and hand-held video games.

In other words, they are not really poor.

Other than the mentally ill and those dealing with addiction, people that cannot be helped without violating their civil right to live on the street, America has done it — we have licked poverty.

Oh, sure, we can use slide-rules and charts and graphs, we can pull a number out of our backside to designate a certain group of people as “poor,” but while we are doing that the poor are enjoying a standard of living the rich only dreamt of a hundred years ago — central heat, television, air conditioning, an abundance of food, games, Internet access, a cell phone… are you kidding me?

And now, because 19 percent of the population — most of them almost assuredly young and dumb, immature and unwise, inexperienced and ignorant — think they want socialism, the 2020 field is prepared to “fix” a market economy that is working miraculously well, because fairness or something…

And here’s the thing, most of those 19 percent… They are going to grow out of it. As they gain experience, maturity, and wisdom, they will wake up to certain realities of life and reject socialism, because only a lunatic can look at the history of socialism and want to live that way.

Before he assassinated President Kennedy, even dedicated Marxist Lee Harvey Oswald got his wish to live in the Soviet Union… and then spent most of his time there trying to return, not just to the United States, but to Texas!

Remember the Woodstock Generation? A majority of them are Republicans now.

That’s just how it works, how it has always worked…

But what has changed, what has moved Democrats into a socialist posture that would shock even Barack Obama, is that the establishment media is now infested with radical leftists who all speak as one. On top of that, America’s young and dumb enjoy a presence on social media that over-exaggerates their influence and twists reality (if you’re dumb enough to believe social media is reality) into something it is not.

The horror show, then, would be a Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren sliding into power, and that would be a horror show even for those 19 percent, because in a few years they are growing to become a little wiser as they struggle and die in the awful world they wished for.
