www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/07/17/watch-trump-supporters-line-up-at-400-am-for-greenville-nc-rally/amp/Supporters of President Donald Trump began lining up early for his 2020 re-election campaign rally in Greenville, North Carolina, set for Wednesday evening, according to local reports. WNCT 9 reports Trump supporters started gathering in the parking lot of Greenville’s Minges Coliseum on East Carolina University’s campus — the site where the rally will be held — at 4:00 a.m. EST. Minges has a capacity of 8,000 seats and those working the rally told WINT that they not only anticipate a sold-out crowd, but some eager to hear the president’s speech will be turned away. WITN reports roughly 100 people were lined up at 5:30 a.m. EST. The Trump campaign said it expects the president will receive a rockstar welcome in the Tar Heel State. “President Trump makes many things great in America — traffic isn’t one of them,” said Marc Lotter, the campaign’s director strategic communications told ABC11. “A presidential rally is a lot like a rock concert. It’s going to be loud, there’s going to be a lot of cheering.” “There will be a national audience, but I can tell you the President will be talking about issues that matter to people in North Carolina,” Lotter added. “He’s going to talk about our military, he’s going to talk about our growing economy, rebuilding the manufacturing sector. He’s also going to be talking about things like his fight to protect religious freedom.” Vice President Mike Pence will join the president on stage and attend a private fundraiser in Fayetteville earlier Wednesday. President Trump tweeted a preview of the topic’s he will touch on at tonight’s event: “Big Rally tonight in Greenville, North Carolina. Lots of great things to tell you about, including the fact that our Economy is the best it has ever been. Best Employment & Stock Market Numbers EVER. I’ll talk also about people who love, and hate, our Country (mostly love)!”

amp.dailycaller.com/2019/07/17/castro-alien-illegal-wordsTexas Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro wants to strike the words “alien” and “illegal alien” from the government’s legal code, arguing that the terms are hurtful to the immigrant community. “Words matter. It’s vital that we respect the dignity of immigrants fleeing violence and prosecution in our language. The words ‘alien’ and ‘illegal alien’ work to demonize and dehumanize the migrant community. They should have no place in our government’s description of human beings,” Castro, whose twin brother is running for the Democratic presidential nomination, said in a Tuesday press release. The Correcting Alienating Names in Government Act, otherwise known as the CHANGE Act, calls for the elimination of the two words from the Immigration and Nationality Act and to replace them with the words “foreign national” and “undocumented foreign national.” The Democratic congressman believes doing this would not only humanize illegal immigrants, but increase their safety in the U.S. “Immigrants come to our borders in good faith and work hard for the opportunity to achieve a better life for themselves and their family. Eliminating this language from government expression puts us one step closer to preserving their dignity and ensuring their safety,” Castro continued in his statement. Castro is far from the only Democratic congressman to believe the words “illegal alien” are offensive. “First, no one is illegal. That term is derogatory now because it dehumanizes people. You can say any other forms of maybe ‘coming in without any regulations’ or so forth, but the use of ‘illegal’ is disrespectful and I ask my colleagues to try in so many ways to not dehumanize our immigrant neighbors who are trying to come in for safe haven,” Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib said during a House committee hearing on July 12. “No one is an ‘alien.’ This is family separation on a massive scale,” Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar tweeted in June. “Dehumanizing immigrants and tearing apart families will not make us any stronger. It will only destroy lives, traumatize children, and make our country less safe.” Omar said President Donald Trump uses the words “illegal” and “alien” to “justify horrific human rights abuses against migrants.” The two words have been used for years by the U.S. federal government and immigration agencies and were not meant to carry any negative connotations when first adopted. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services defines the word “alien” as “any person not a citizen or national of the United States. ‘Foreign national’ is a synonym and used outside of statutes when referring to noncitizens of the U.S.” Non-partisan immigration organizations describe the word in similar fashion. (RELATED: Julian Castro Takes His Border Decriminalization Proposal A Step Further) Despite criticism from Democratic politicians, most Americans are still very comfortable with the word. Only 26% of respondents to a June Rasmussen poll answered “yes” when asked, “Is it offensive to refer to someone who has entered this country illegally as ‘an illegal immigrant’?” including only 30% of Democrats.

Kamala Harris following Biden's lead and channeling Obama into her campaign promises now: www.breitbart.com/clips/2019/07/18/kamala-harris-on-medicare-of-all-you-can-keep-your-doctor/Wednesday on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” 2020 presidential hopeful Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) said in her health care plan “you can keep your doctor,” echoing former President Barack Obama’s broken promise on the Affordable Care Act known as Obamacare. When asked if she supports Medicare for all with supplemental insurance, Harris said, “I do.” She continued, “It would actually bring health care to the access of health care is not related to how much money you have in your back pocket. We have Medicare for all. Do you know where that is? The emergency rooms of America, and it is too expensive, and it also means that people are getting access to health care when they’re in crisis. Instead of before then, when we can actually alleviate their pain and extend the quality of their life in a much smarter and more effective way. You know, and people, there’s a whole argument that people think, maybe is this going to mean that I need to, that I have to worry about not being able to see my doctor? 91% of the doctors in America are in Medicare. And those that are not are mostly pediatricians. And the 9%, and you know why they’re not in Medicare because Medicare doesn’t cover children." She added, “But when we have Medicare for all, that will not be any longer the case, which means the vast majority of doctors will be in that system, and you can keep your doctor under that system, and it will be that when you walk into that hospital, when you walk into the doctor’s office, you don’t have to fill out all those forms and give your credit card. You just give your Medicare card, and you walk in, and you walk out when you’re done.”

bigleaguepolitics.com/must-watch-gen-z-teen-band-plays-cnn-sucks-song-outside-trump-rally/North Carolina rally, a group of teens took it upon themselves to provide free entertainment for those waiting, playing an original song titled “CNN Sucks” for the crowd. Featuring lyrics like “Lyin’ Wolf Blitzer”, “Don Lemon, he lies about everything” and “Jake Tapper, you make me wanna hurl”, the band appears to have utterly horrified Christopher Mathias, the Huffington Post journalist who captured the video on Twitter. Other good lyrics captured include deriding another journalist, saying “he whines like a girl”, and “Jeff Zucker, keep talking!” “Can you hear us yet? CNN sucks,” the video concludes, “We’ll give you a story, and you’ll never forget! CNN sucks!”

dailycaller.com/2019/07/19/trump-approval-democrats-poll/President Donald Trump is at 48% approval, and former Vice President Joe Biden is leading among Democratic White House candidates, an NBC/SurveyMonkey poll released Friday revealed. The poll asked respondents questions about Trump’s job, the economy, the environment, health care, and immigration among other top issues in the presidential race. (RELATED: Trump Scores Personal Best Approval Rating Of 44% In New Poll) Sixty-eight percent of respondents found the economy to be in good standing. When it came to political issues, 22% replied that immigration mattered most to them, with 21% trailing closely behind, saying health care and the economy were most important. As the second round of presidential debates comes closer, the poll showed Biden in the lead at 25% of respondents saying they would vote for him if a Democratic primary or caucus was held today; Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren came in at 16%. Democratic California Sen. Kamala Harris came in at 14%, followed by South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg with 8%. Thirty-two percent somewhat disapproved of how Congress is performing, and 43% strongly disapproved. The poll was conducted between July 2 and 16 “among 13,553 registered voters with an error estimate of plus or minus 1.2 percentage points,” according to NBC, and among 5,548 Democratic-leaning and Democratic registered voters, “the margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points.”

Trouble in Bernie-land? www.dailywire.com/news/49660/bernie-campaign-employees-demand-wages-healthcare-james-barrettDemocratic socialist presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has been one of the most vocal advocates for a $15-per-hour federal minimum wage and universal healthcare, but, according to The Washington Post, after allowing his staffers to unionize, his priorities for the country are starting to "roil" his campaign. Back in May, the Sanders campaign proudly announced that it was the first campaign to ratify a union contract with its employees, but according to documents reviewed by the Post, that union has some serious demands for the far-left politician, complaining that "the compensation and treatment they are receiving does not meet the standards Sanders espouses in his rhetoric." "Campaign field hires have demanded an annual salary they say would be equivalent to a $15-an-hour wage, which Sanders for years has said should be the federal minimum," the Post reports. "The organizers and other employees supporting them have invoked the senator’s words and principles in making their case to campaign manager Faiz Shakir." The Post makes a point of stressing that Sanders has made "standing up for workers a central theme of his presidential campaigns," including marching alongside disgruntled McDonald's employees, demanding Walmart pay its workers more, and standing in solidarity with various employee strikes. And in May, the campaign had a big announcement: it had ratified a union agreement with campaign staffers. "We are proud of our workers and proud to uphold Bernie's commitment to collective bargaining rights and a strong labor movement," campaign manager Faiz Shakir said in a statement reported by NPR at the time. "When Bernie Sanders is in the White House, he will make it easier not harder to join a union and we look forward to running a campaign powered by union workers." According to documents reviewed by the Post, Shakir was immediately engaged in some tense negotiations with that union. The Post reports that communications documents leaked by a staffer to the paper "show that the conflict dates back to at least May and remains unresolved." Among the issues addressed are the "poverty wages" the campaign pays some of its workers: A draft letter union members earlier had prepared to send Shakir as soon as this week said that the field organizers “cannot be expected to build the largest grassroots organizing program in American history while making poverty wages. Given our campaign’s commitment to fighting for a living wage of at least $15.00 an hour, we believe it is only fair that the campaign would carry through this commitment to its own field team.” The draft letter estimated that field organizers were working 60 hours per week at minimum, dropping their average hourly pay to less than $13. It said that “many field staffers are barely managing to survive financially, which is severely impacting our team’s productivity and morale. Some field organizers have already left the campaign as a result.”

Igor Volsky, Executive Director of Guns Down America and a former Vice President of the Center for American Progress, announced the petition on Twitter, saying, “In light of the racist #SendHerBack chants at Trump’s rally on Wednesday, I’ve started a petition urging @aegworldwide, which owns @usbankarena, to cancel Trump’s upcoming racist campaign rally on Aug. 1.”
On August 1st, Donald Trump is scheduled to host a campaign rally at the U.S. Bank Arena in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. The event will take place less than a month after Trump presided over a North Carolina crowd chanting “Send her back! Send her back!” about an American Muslim congresswoman he targeted with racist attacks.
Given Donald Trump’s penchant for stirring up unrestrained demagoguery and racist hate-filled chants against women, minorities, and immigrants at his campaign rallies, we are asking AEG Worldwide, which owns the U.S. Bank Arena, to cancel the event and refuse to rent its space to the Trump campaign.
Does AEG Worldwide and U.S. Bank — which has naming rights to the space — really want to be associated with such hatred and racism?
All colleges, universities, corporate branded arenas or other private or public venues should refuse to rent their arenas for Trump’s racist campaign rallies. .........
As of this morning, it has around 2,000 signatures.

dailycaller.com/2019/07/19/democratic-governors-alarmed-party-veering-left/Democratic governors are worried about the party’s leftward swing going into the 2020 election cycle, fearing far-left policies such as abolishing private health insurance will alienate the voters they need to win. Some of the governors gathered for an annual fundraising retreat in Nantucket last weekend told The New York Times that in addition to being too extreme, they think some of the policies are bad for the country, particularly on health insurance. “I don’t think that’s good policy or good politics,” Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo said. She chairs the Democratic Governor’s Association. “We cannot become the party of the checklist,” she added, referring to what The New York Times described as “cultural flash points.” Democrats should focus on “economic security,” she said. “I think it scares people,” New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham told The New York Times, referring to the proposal to eliminate private health insurance backed by Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders. (RELATED: Here Are The 11 Standout Moments From The Second Democratic Debate In Miami) Raimondo and others believe the party should redouble on the strategy that paid off in the 2018 midterms — avoiding bait from President Trump and focusing on broadly popular policies. “We think that’s a blueprint for next year,” she said. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer joined Grisham and Raimondo in warning the party’s approach to immigration could also be perceived as too extreme for voters. Almost all of the Democratic presidential candidates support a proposal to decriminalize border crossings. (RELATED: The Biggest Policy Takeaway From The Second Debate: Open Borders) “That just scares too many people who don’t know anything about immigration,” Whitmer told The New York Times. A Morning Consult poll out this week found all of the ten most popular governor’s are Republican, while the bottom ten include eight Democrats.

Yet, another article warning the Democrats of their impending fate if they keep going left with the squad: www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2019/07/18/democrats_far-left_lean_risks_more_than_the_presidency_140803.htmlDemocrats' Far-Left Lean Risks More Than the Presidency By Mort Kondracke If the Democratic Party keeps surging to the left and nominates a 2020 candidate who can be credibly labeled “socialist,” “radical” or just far out of mainstream, it will not only reelect Donald Trump, but unleash a cascade of nightmares on itself and the nation. Unpopular as he is, President Trump likely would win narrowly, but whatever the margin, he will feel vindicated and unleashed. To do what? For sure, to continue treating unwanted immigrants with systematic cruelty, claiming to help the working middle class while furtherenriching the wealthy, offending foreign allies while coddling dictators, dividing the nation and demeaning political discourse. Other dire scenarios await if the party keeps heading left, responding to its liberal base and the pressure of TV debates. One possible outcome is that Democrats will lose what slim chance they have of retaking the Senate. Then Trump will be able to nominate and confirm probably at least one more and possibly two more conservative Supreme Court justices, plus lower court justices and executive branch officials who’ll carry out his will. It gets worse. Democrats recaptured the House in 2018 because 40 moderates took seats Republicans won in 2016. If the party is deemed far-left in 2020, Democrats could lose control of the House and Trump could once again operate without any serious congressional oversight. No one seems to realize the danger more than Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has been resisting liberal pressure to begin impeachment proceedings that would inflame Trump’s base. And she has been trying to tame the most left-wing elements of her caucus, the four-member so-called “Squad” led by first-term socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has been lionized by the media and is being used by Trump to brand the entire Democratic Party as radical. Pelosi clearly is motivated by her past experience as speaker from 2007 to 2011, when she acted as a “San Francisco liberal,” epitomized by her forcing Obamacare through the House on a party-line vote. As a result, Democrats lost 63 seats in 2010 and she lost her speakership. Besides Trump unleashed, chances of winning the Senate lost, a more conservative Supreme Court and loss of the House majority, a fifth potential nightmare scenario for Democrats is another decade of GOP domination at the state level. In the post-Obamacare Democratic wipeout election of 2010, Republicans gained 680 state legislative seats, control of 19 legislative bodies and won a net six governorships. In the following year’s reapportionment, they used their authority to gerrymander U.S. House and state legislative districts to give themselves commanding advantages through the current decade. If the same thing happens in 2020, not only would the gerrymandering continue in 2021 — making it harder yet for Democrats to win back the House -- but GOP-dominated legislatures could further restrict abortion, block gun control, impose new voting restrictions, and cut back on Medicaid and other social programs. Various commentators, including Thomas Edsall of the New York Times, GOP political guru Karl Rove and Democratic centrist William Galston in the Wall Street Journal have described how perilously far Democrats are heading out of the mainstream of American opinion. Among the items that could well make it onto the 2020 general election platform are “Medicare for All” (including cancellation of employer-provided private insurance and reimbursement levels so low as to drive hospitals out of business); a Green New Deal proposing a close-down of fossil fuel use in just 10 years; immigration policy that effectively opens U.S. borders to the world by decriminalizing unauthorized entry and abolishing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency; endorsement of no-limits abortion; allowing prisoners to vote; and enlargement of the U.S. Supreme Court. Other items being bandied about by the 2020 Democratic presidential field include free college for all and elimination of college debt regardless of income, providing free health care to undocumented immigrants, various threats to “take on” wealthy Americans and large corporations through break-ups and higher taxes, a guaranteed income for people whether they work or not, a huge low-cost housing construction program and subsidies for low-income renters, a return to a 70% top income tax rate and a “wealth tax” on people with net worth over $50 million, reparations to all African Americans, and free child care and preschool for all, regardless of income. Then there is the left’s ever-growing demand for Trump’s impeachment, favored by only 22% of voters (including only 36% of Democrats). Opening impeachment proceedings might strengthen Democrats’ investigative authority, but actual impeachment would be a vain exercise. Trump is certain to be acquitted in the Republican-controlled Senate and would claim not only personal vindication but proof that Democrats have never accepted the voters’ choice in 2016. Risking all this is utterly unnecessary. Democrats don’t need to explore the leftist frontier to beat Trump and win at other levels. They can simply advocate policies the public overwhelmingly favors. These include keeping the current U.S. health care system (including private insurance) and adding a Medicare “public option.” Also, controlling prescription drug prices, which Trump promised to do but didn’t. The public also approves giving legal status or a citizenship path to undocumented immigrants and treating asylum-seekers humanely (but not abolishing ICE or decriminalizing illegal entry). Government’s rebuilding of infrastructure — which Trump promised to do but never did -- is highly popular. Building Trump’s wall is not. The public supports increasing taxes on the wealthy (perhaps even Warren’s wealth tax, but not a 70% top rate). According to Gallup, by 60% to 33%, Americans oppose repeal of Roe v. Wade. Only 25% believe abortion should be legal in all cases, 13% in most cases, 39% in only a few, and just 21% say it should be illegal in all cases. By 60% or more, the public believes that climate change is real, caused by humans and needs reductions in fossil fuel use over time and investment in alternatives. But voters are split on AOC’s aggressive Green New Deal.Gradually raising the minimum wage is popular, as are other programs for the poor and middle class, such as increasing the child tax credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit. A guaranteed income whether one works or not is less popular. Free college for everyone is not popular, but loan forgiveness based on income is. Sixty percent of voters favor stricter gun laws and an assault weapons ban and more than 90% back universal background checks. Bottom line: The public already backs progressive policies — reasonable, affordable ones, but not far-left ideas. This suggests that a candidate in the moderate range could win -- Joe Biden, Amy Klobochar, Michael Bennet, John Delaney or Steve Bullock (maybe Pete Buttigieg, though he favors court-packing), but Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker and Kamala Harris would have a tougher road. Democrats should remember what’s happened when they nominated perceived far-outers in the past: In 1972, George McGovern, labeled (even by some Democrats) as the candidate of “acid, amnesty and abortion,” lost 49 states to Richard Nixon. In 1984, Walter Mondale, a liberal who supported raising taxes and freezing U.S. nuclear weapons at a level giving the Soviet Union an advantage in Europe, again carried only one state against Ronald Reagan. And in 1988, ”proud” ACLU member Michael Dukakis, perceived as soft on crime, lost all but 10 states to George H.W. Bush. Meantime, Democrats have won by nominating perceived moderates or moderate liberals Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Can Democratic primary voters heed the lessons of the past (and public opinion) and beat Trump, or will they let their ideological enthusiasms run away with them? The consequences of that choice are epic. Morton Kondracke is the retired executive editor of Roll Call and a former Fox News contributor. dailycaller.com/2019/07/20/dnc-june-fundraising-rnc/Democratic National Committee raised $8.5 million in June and has $9.3 million in the bank, according to campaign finance records released late Friday. Both figures are far behind what the Republican National Committee said it has raised. The GOP said it raised $20.8 million in June, and has $43.5 million cash on hand, Fox News reported Wednesday. Republicans also said the party has no debt, while the DNC has $5.7 million in debt, according to FEC records. (RELATED: Bad News For DNC: The Democrats’ And GOP’s Money, By The Numbers) June doesn’t appear to be an anomaly. Republicans say they’ve raked in $51 million in the past three months. The RNC has been posting record fundraising numbers so far in 2019. In February, the party raised $14.6 million, a record high for that month in a non-election year. The RNC, which has yet to file its official campaign finance documents, shared its strong showing in an email blast Saturday. “In June, the RNC brought in twice as much money as the DNC. Cycle to date, under RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, we’ve raised more than double that of the DNC and have no debt. Comparatively, the DNC is nearly six million dollars in debt,” said Steve Guest, the RNC’s rapid response director. Guest pointed to a Vice News article that quoted Hillary Clinton campaign and DNC alum Adam Parkhomenko saying of Democrats’ relatively paltry showing: “They need to get their shit together. Now.”

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio went off in a string of tweets on Saturday after the New York City subway system broke down during the hottest weekend of the year.
A computer failure crippled during Friday night’s hot evening commute home.
That’s when Twitter users slammed the mayor for losing $850 million in taxpayer funds that could have been used on updating the subway system.
The mayor’s wife Chirlane McCray, can’t account for it. It was kind of a huge problem that the media mostly ignored.

t.co/T8GvDBYKfiThe de Blasio administration still hasn’t spent $8.1 billion in federal funds for Hurricane Sandy recovery six years after the storm — including $1.8 billion for NYCHA, according to a new report by city Comptroller Scott Stringer. The city has used up just 54 percent of a total $14.7 billion allocated for infrastructure, homeowner recovery and resiliency projects. Only 41 percent targeted for the New York City Housing Authority has been spent.

www.dailywire.com/news/49714/bernie-sanders-plans-cut-staffers-hours-pay-15-ashe-schowSen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has advocated for a $15 minimum wage and more unionization for years. He’s also put his money where his mouth is, by becoming the first presidential campaign to unionize and pay his workers at least $15 an hour. But this also means his campaign has become anexample of the pitfalls of his policies. His campaign’s union contract resulted in a flat annual salary of $36,000 for field staffers. In a normal 40-hour work week, that would pay about $17 per hour. But some staffers say they work up to 60 hours a week, meaning their pay ends up being about $13 per hour. To combat this, Sanders’ campaign will now limitstaffers’ hours to ensure they are paid at least $15 an hour. We look forward to continuing those discussions and obviously are disappointed that some individuals decided to damage the integrity of these efforts before they were concluded," said Sanders campaign manager Faiz Shakir in a statement to Newsweek. "As these discussions continue, we are limiting hours so no employee is receiving less than $15 for any hours worked."

dailycaller.com/2019/07/21/cnn-panel-moderate-real-americans-democrats/CNN Panelist Claims Moderate ‘Real Americans Drinking Coffee’ Are ‘Mythical Unicorns’ .............. A Sunday morning “State of the Union” panel on CNN got heated when the New York Times’ Wajahat Ali squared off with S.E. Cupp over the Democratic Party’s struggles to reach “real Americans” in the middle. “Democrats always bring a plastic straw to a gunfight — And they always stab themselves,” Ali began.” Republicans bring a bazooka and kill everyone, including their own base … Democrats are always hijacked by the Republican base. They’re always chasing this mythical moderate unicorn ordinary American drinking real coffee in the real diner that they never met before, and the right shifted so far to the right it’s dragged the center with it, right?” As Ali continued, followed by a response from former Republican Pennsylvania Sen. Rick. Santorum, Cupp’s eyes got larger and larger until she had to jump in. “The folks not for Medicare for all are for a public option and the folks for the public option, Cory Booker said it’s a ramp to where we want to go which is eliminating private health care,” Santorum noted with a smile. “You want to give free tuition to everybody and by the way, everybody who has loans, we’ll wipe out those loans and all these people, 74% of Americans who don’t have college degrees, you’ll pay for it. You wonder why the guy drinking a cup of coffee doesn’t want the Democrats to be in charge.” (RELATED: ‘Trying To Out-Left Each Other’: CNN Panel Goes Off The Rails In Debate Recap) That was when Cupp jumped in, arguing that the real problem was that the moderate people drinking coffee were not “mythical unicorns” as Ali had claimed, but real people — and that those real people were the reason that President Donald Trump was elected. “The problem is with what he said. It’s not a person in the middle of the country drinking real coffee you never met. The problem is you’ve never met them,” Cupp said. “They are real and they are the reason Donald Trump won because the Democratic Party have left so many of those behind and so did the Republican Party, by the way.” Cupp then pointed out the fact that Republicans appeared to be doing a better job at reaching out to “real people,” saying that the Democrats had moved left and would sabotage their own chances if they continued to move in that direction. “The party trying to reach out to them at the moment is the Republican Party and the Democrats have an opportunity but they are going to kill it with decriminalizing the border and abolishing private health insurance,” Cupp concluded.

news.yahoo.com/top-dem-think-tank-warns-084553425.htmlwww.americanprogress.org/?p=472378But a new report from an influential liberal think tank, provided to The Daily Beast, posits that the party’s decision to cede the “rule of law” ground to Republicans creates “the false dichotomy of America as either a nation of immigrants or a nation of laws”—making the party and its candidates appear soft on enforcement, and potentially weakening future attempts for humanitarian-focused immigration reform. In doing so, writes Tom Jawetz, vice president of immigration policy at the Center for American Progress, supporters of humane immigration policy “have ceded powerful rhetorical ground to immigration restrictionists, who are happy to masquerade as the sole defenders of America as a nation of laws.”

During Monday’s “Morning Joe” on MSNBC, host Joe Scarborough weighed in on President Donald Trump’s chances in 2020, predicting a reelection bid is going to “end very badly” for him. According to Scarborough, Trump is going to lose in a “landslide” because he is being a “bigot and a racist,” which the host argued only appeals to “one-third of the electorate.” “Donald, you’re making a fool of yourself again,” Scarborough stated in a message directed at the president. “This is going to end very badly for you.” He continued, “All of this is deeply offensive, but I’m already tired at all the op-eds I’m going to have to read after Donald Trump loses in a landslide. People saying, ‘Well of course, this was due to happen because his bigotry only appealed to one-third of the electorate.’ That will happen. Just like we said Donald Trump could win, I’m telling you, that will happen. This is what gets me. This is such a losing proposition. This is the politics of subtraction. There is no way this leads to victory. This gets women, suburban voters, educated voters, of course, people of color. It gets them fired up in a way that they’ll go out to vote, whereas this depresses a lot of support for Donald Trump. That’s what I don’t understand, Elise. Why he’s being a bigot and a racist, thinking that that’s going to help him get elected. It’s not. It’s going to ensure that he is routed next year.”

dailycaller.com/2019/07/22/alex-morse-trump-tax-neal-congress/announced plans to challenge House Ways & Means Chairman Richard Neal in 2020 Monday. Morse, 30, is being encouraged to run by progressive Democrats who are frustrated by Neal’s delay in obtaining Trump’s state tax returns under the law passed by Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, NBC News reported. “There’s an urgency to this moment in Massachusetts’ 1st District and our country, and that urgency is not matched by our current representative in Congress,” Morse said in a video to announce his challenge. (RELATED: This City’s Mayor Is The First To Endorse Pot Legalization Ballot In Massachusetts) Democrats have been frustrated with Neal, a Massachusetts representative, because he has not pushed for Trump‘s New York state tax returns despite the law. Liberal magazine The American Prospect wrote Neal’s committee “has shown none of the zeal for oversight exhibited by its counterparts.” “We respect his focus on moving rapidly on health care, tax policy, and pensions but at the same time many of us have tried to express the sense of urgency which we and our constituents feel about enforcing the law and obtaining Trump’s tax returns,” an aide to a Democratic member of the Ways & Means told NBC. Cuomo signed a bill into law July 8 giving access to Trump’s New York state tax returns to “congressional tax-related committees” if they can cite a “legitimate task” of Congress in seeking them, according to NBC. Neal said he did not request Trump’s state returns under the law because he doesn’t want to hamper efforts to get Trump’s federal filings, which he is suing the Treasury and IRS to obtain, a process Neal didn’t begin for several months after the new Congress was sworn in. Neal has also said requesting Trump’s state returns only served to legitimize complaints that Congress sought them for political purposes only, he told Bloomberg News. “We are fortunate to live in a country where everyone can have his or her voice heard by running for office, and that’s why Congressman Neal will welcome anyone into this race,” Neal spokesman Peter Panos told the Boston Globe. “Richie has been a champion for working families in Western Massachusetts and has fought tirelessly to ensure that the people of our region are not forgotten and receive our fair share.” Neal’s office did not immediately return requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.

www.thedailybeast.com/2020-democrats-are-starting-to-turn-obamas-legacy-against-bidenFormer Vice President Joe Biden has used Barack Obama’s beloved status among Democratic voters to insulate him from criticism from the massive field of candidates jockeying to be the next president. But in recent weeks, the Democratic frontrunner has had that legacy used against him, with his competitors pointing the to shortcomings of the last Democratic administration as evidence that Biden’s not up to the task of leading the next one. “Barack Obama, personally, is incredibly popular among Democratic primary voters,” Karthik Ganapathy, a progressive consultant now running his own firm, told The Daily Beast. “And also at the same time, there’s a growing recognition that income and wealth inequality got worse under his eight years, the climate crisis got worse during his eight years, deportations went up during his time in office, and so on.” ......... But that hesitancy has softened in recent weeks. On issues stemming from immigration to health care and foreign policy, the 2020 candidates have been increasingly critical in their public assessments of the Obama administration. And they’ve used opportunities from the debate stage to candidate forums to try and turn Biden’s ties to the former president from an overwhelming asset into something more complicated. Senator Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) campaign has used Obama’s own words to challenge Biden’s notion that Obamacare simply needs to be built upon. Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) challenged Biden over the Obama administration's deportation policies. Senator Cory Booker (D-N.J.) backed off support for the Obama administration’s 2015 Iran nuclear deal as originally written. And Governor Jay Inslee (D-WA) has attacked Biden for a naivete about dealing with Republicans—in what has been interpreted as an implicit rebuke of Obama’s own failure to fully grasp GOP recalcitrance. The subtle targeting of Biden has come as Democratic activists and progressives have continued to grapple with the Obama legacy as well. In particular, the Trump administration's family separation policy and inhumane conditions in detention facilities has sparked a broader conversation among Democratic voters about whether the Obama administration’s own deportation policies laid the groundwork for the current controversies.

www.dailywire.com/news/49761/warren-warns-coming-economic-crash-cnn-warns-ryan-saavedra?ampWarren Warns Of ‘Coming Economic Crash,’ CNN Warns Warren Could Trigger It ........ A CNN reporter pushed back on Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) on Monday after Warren warned that she believes that an "economic crash" is coming. The reporter claimed that Warren's big-government policies may actually trigger a "fiscal crisis." "I warned about an economic crash years before the 2008 crisis, but the people in power wouldn’t listen," Warren wrote. "Now I'm seeing serious warning signs in the economy again — and I’m calling on regulators and Congress to act before another crisis costs America’s families their homes, jobs, and savings." "Warning lights are flashing," Warren continued. "Whether it's this year or next year, the odds of another economic downturn are high — and growing. Congress and regulators should act immediately to tamp down these threats before it's too late." Warren warned about the increasing levels of household and corporate debt in the U.S., while also warning about a manufacturing recession. Warren's claims were disputed during a segment on CNN by business reporter Cristina Alesci, who said that Warren is "proposing some solutions that actually might create another crisis." "Warren is shaping this conversation in a way that is politically convenient for her," Alesci said. "As far as her policy proposals, she is recommending lowering rents, offering affordable childcare, offering free tuition at colleges, all of that costs money the American public should be asking, 'how do you pay for it?'" "One way would be to increase taxes, another way is to increase government debt," Alesci continued. "This is the issue that the American people should be actually focused on because many experts say if we don't get control of our debt over the next 10 years we could be facing a fiscal crisis." "The Democratic presidential candidate’s analysis skips some important context about both issues," CNBC wrote in an analysis over Warren's claims. "Debt levels appear manageable, at least for now, while there’s scant evidence for a manufacturing recession."

www.cnbc.com/2019/07/22/elizabeth-warrens-recession-scare-is-long-on-fear-short-on-facts.htmlElizabeth Warren’s recession scare appears long on fear, short on facts ........ KEY POINTS Sen. Elizabeth Warren is sounding the alarm over a potential crisis ahead, citing a manufacturing “recession” and dangerous debt levels. However, the Democratic presidential candidate’s analysis skips some important context about both issues. Debt levels appear manageable, at least for now, while there’s scant evidence of a manufacturing recession. Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren’s warning about an impending economic crisis carried with it some level of hyperbole. Specifically, the Massachusetts senator’s alarm-sounding about consumer debt neglects to measure it against the growth in the economy and the ability to pay. And she flatly states, in an essay for Medium, that “the country is now in a manufacturing recession” even though there is scant evidence of that being the case. On the debt issue, Warren is correct in pointing out that aggregate levels have increased. Nonhousing debt has jumped from $2.63 trillion in mid-2009 as the last recession was ending to $4.02 trillion as of the end of the first quarter of 2019, an increase of 52.8%, according to New York Federal Reserve data. More importantly, though, consumers’ ability to pay has increased at a pace well above the aggregate debt totals. Household net worth currently stands at $108.6 trillion, more than double the $50.4 trillion where it was in June 2009, according to the Fed. At the same time, total household debt is $15.7 trillion, or about 14.4% of total net worth. In June 2009, the total household debt was $13.8 trillion, or 27.4% of total net worth or just shy of double in percentage terms. Measured relative to GDP, household debt is below 80%, compared with nearly 100% at the crisis peak. As a percent of disposable income, debt now is around 9.9%, compared with 13.2% in the late-2007 peak. Americans are doing much better at paying their debts as well. The charge-off and delinquency rate for all loans and leases was 1.53% in the first quarter, tied for the lowest since the second quarter of 2006, Fed data shows. True, credit card delinquencies have been inching higher, to 2.59%, the highest level since Q1 of 2013, but the rate is still well below the financial crisis peak of 6.77% in Q2 of 2009. To be sure, all is far from rosy in the debt picture. Student loan debt has surged to just shy of $1.6 trillion, or more than double where it was in mid-2009, and some 9.54% of borrowers were in serious delinquency — 90 days or more late — in the first quarter, compared with 9.08% a year ago. Auto debt is at $1.28 trillion, around a record, with 2.36% of all borrowers in serious delinquency, according
