Sure, Trump was completely wrong about where the four “originally came from.” Just one of the four women he apparently targeted was born outside the U.S.; Omar came to America as a refugee when her family fled war-torn Somalia, and she became a U.S. citizen when she was 12.

But there was method to Trump’s madness, which he clearly defined in a later tweet, just as House Democrats banded together to call for a vote to condemn the president’s remarks.

“The Dems were trying to distance themselves from the four progressives, but now they are forced to embrace them,” he wrote. "That means they are endorsing Socialism, hate of Israel and the USA! Not good for the Democrats!”

And that was the whole point. Trump wanted to call the four “progressives” out, make them the subject, and force Democrats to defend them. By doing so, the entire party is now embracing the ideology they spew — from socialism to anti-Semitism to what can only be described as a deep disdain (if not hatred) for America and her principles.

Kinda’ brilliant.

A White House official told The Daily Mail after The Squad held a rambling press conference that Trump “couldn’t have scripted this any better. They warned against taking the bait, and then they took the bait. Now they’re the party of AOC, and that won’t end well.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham predicted the move, saying on Fox News that Trump could single-handedly make the four women “the face of the future of the Democratic Party.” If he could do that, Graham said, he could “destroy the Democratic Party.”

And now, that’s done. The House moved quickly on a resolution condemning Trump’s “racist comments,” and Pelosi called the four lawmakers on the fringe of the party “our sisters.”

“The fact is, as offended as we are — and we are offended by what he said about our sisters — he says that about people every day, and they feel as hurt as we do about somebody in our family having this offense against them,” she said.

So, the president set out to make Democrats embrace the four lawmakers, and they have.

Trump is often mocked when he calls himself a “stable genius,” but he outplayed the Democrats on this one — and they still don’t even know it.

Far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is reportedly preparing to introduce a pro-Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) resolution in the House of Representatives. The BDS movement is anti-Semitic and intends to destroy the nation of Israel.

Al-Monitor reports that Omar's resolution "would defend the pro-Palestinian boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel."

"We are introducing a resolution … to really speak about the American values that support and believe in our ability to exercise our first amendment rights in regard to boycotting," Omar told Al-Monitor. "And it is an opportunity for us to explain why it is we support a nonviolent movement, which is the BDS movement."

The left-leaning Anti-Defamation League writes the following about the BDS movement:

Freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who has a long history of making antisemitic remarks, revealed that she will soon visit Israel.

Omar told J-Insider Capitol Hill reporter Laura Kelly on Wednesday that she will visit the Jewish state and “Palestine” in a “few weeks” and learn more about the so-called “occupation.”

“Everything that I hear points to both sides feeling like there is still an occupation,” she said.

Since coming to Washington last year, Omar has received intense scrutiny for her antisemitic remarks, though Democrat leaders have refused to take action.

In 2012, Omar wrote on Twitter that Israel had “hypnotized the world” and said, “may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings” of the Jewish state. The progressive lawmaker tweeted in February that supports in Congress for Israel is “all about the Benjamins baby,” falsely suggesting that American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) bribes lawmakers to support the country. The antisemitic remark drew praise from infamous white supremacist David Duke.

Although Omar eventually apologized for inferencing Jews buy influence on Capitol Hill, weeks later she claimed pro-Israel congressmen hold “allegiance to a foreign country.”

Top House Democrats condemned the statement, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY), yet Omar would not apologize this time for her anti-Jewish slur.

Appearing Wednesday on CBS This Morning, Omar said she had no regrets about her past antisemitic comments. When asked by interviewer Gayle King if she had regrets, the progressive lawmaker replied: “I do not, but I am grateful for the opportunity to really learn how my words have made people feel and take every opportunity I have to make sure people understand that I apologize for it.”

Omar then claimed that she was “certainly not” antisemitic.

So Pelosi this afternoon had a weekly press briefing to try to explain all this. Chief congressional correspondent of CBS News Nancy Cordes said, “On your House resolution condemning the president, what do you think at the end of the day was achieved, given that it was essentially a party-line vote?”

PELOSI: That language that the president used was beneath the dignity of the president, beneath the dignity of the people he was criticizing. By the way, we were offended that he spoke in such a way about members of Congress, but we’re offended that he says that about people across the country all the time, “Go back to where you came from.” And that, by its definition, those words are racism. You go look in the AP and other places where they define certain words, that’s what that is.”

So, the Press are now defining words, instead of the dictionaries?

PELOSI: We weren’t saying that he was racist. We were saying that the words that he used were racist.So that was as gentle as it could be.

I can’t wait to see how AOC, etc respond to that.

ABC senior congressional correspondent Mary Bruce, said, “Madam Speaker, the president is clearly trying to cast this broader debate as a choice between him and your more progressive [whack job] members. This fight has dominated the conversation this week. You’ve had your resolution. The Democrats are rallying behind these members. Are you concerned that the president is goading you?”

PELOSI: With all due respect, let’s not waste our time on that. We’re talking about what we’re gonna do to help the American people. Our caucus is unified on all of that. I do think that the president is trying to — and we cannot — uh, uh, and you cannot, and we cannot, um, um, buy into his, uh, fog that he wants to create over everything. We all know the argument that can be made against us in terms of our philosophy, in terms of our, um (pause), priorities and the rest. And the president knows the argument that can be made against him and therefore he wants to distract from ’em. You have to give him credit. He’s a great distractor.

“Rules Committee Chairman Jim McGovern had warned the caucus about that during their weekly meeting Tuesday morning and urged them to check with parliamentarian regarding exact language. Pelosi then chimed in, saying, ‘I’m not’ checking with parliamentarian, drawing laughter from members, according to an aide who was present,” and yet she’s lying because she said that she did check with the parliamentarian and that she got approval from the parliamentarian.

House Democrats expressed frustration with “the Squad” after voting Wednesday to defend them from President Trump, saying they played right into Trump’s hands and don’t deserve that kind of support from House leaders they’ve criticized.

“Many are extremely frustrated,” CNN’s Jake Tapper reported in a Twitter thread Wednesday, based on conversations he had with Democrats on the Hill. They’re not as unified as their votes this week indicate, he said.

One House Democrat told Tapper the showdown between the White House and “the Squad” served Trump’s interests. “The president won this one,” the unnamed Democrat said. “What the president has done is politically brilliant. House Democrats voted unanimously Tuesday to condemn Trump’s tweets attacking “the Squad” — freshmen Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley — as racist. The vote followed a tiff between Ocasio-Cortez and House leadership over her accusation that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is racist.

Another House Democrat told Tapper the whole thing is distracting Democrats from the “bread and butter” issues they need to focus on to win in 2020. “We need to focus on the issues that got them here: jobs, health care … instead of the issues the president brings up deliberately,” the representative said. “Anything that takes away from bread and butter issues is playing into his hands.” (RELATED: GOP Launches New Campaign Ad Against ‘The Squad’)

The third Democrat said it’s particularly frustrating given “the Squad’s” attacks on other Democrats, citing criticism over their support for border funding, and Ocasio-Cortez going after them on social media and allowing her chief of staff to help primary them. “It makes people’s skin crawl,” the representative said, adding: “I can’t tell you the number of Members who are angry and annoyed about them criticizing us.”

The fourth concluded, “We were there for them; they should stop attacking us.”

Republican New York Rep. Lee Zeldin scolded Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar on Wednesday after she introduced a resolution affirming Americans’ right to isolate Israel through Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS).

My colleague who just spoke used the frequent use of the words ‘honesty’ and ‘honest.’ Let’s just get to a lot of what is left out,” Zeldin responded to Omar’s testimony during the House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing.

“The BDS movement has not distanced itself from Hamas, a designated foreign terrorist organization. BDS supporters individually are not distancing themselves from Hamas either,” he continued. “It is wrong to be blaming all Israeli and Palestinian violence ‘as being due to an occupation.’”

The BDS movement seeks to punish the Jewish state of Israel by politically and economically depriving the country for its alleged mistreatment of Palestinians. It initially metastasized through college campuses and is described by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) as “the most prominent effort to undermine Israel’s existence.”

While the resolution that Omar put forth does not mention the movement by name, it guarantees that all Americans have the right to ‘participate in boycotts in pursuit of civil and human rights at home and abroad’ and is largely seen as a response to anti-BDS legislation that has been circulating in the legislature, reported The Jerusalem Post.

During the Foreign Affairs committee meeting, Omar urged her colleagues to support the resolution, comparing the American civil rights movement and the Boston Tea Party.

“[The resolution] recognizes the proud history of boycott movements in this country dating back to the Boston Tea Party. We should honor these movements and that history,” Omar said. “We should honor our commitment to the principles that say we must hold our friends to the same standards that we hold our adversaries.”

Hamas uses women and children as human shields,” Zeldin replied, noting that a senior Hamas official called upon Palestinians worldwide to kill all Jews only a week ago. “They declare jihad as an obligation. They deny humanitarian aid to their own people. They deny human rights, launching rockets from Gaza into Israel, killing innocent civilians.”

“Existential threats to Israel [are] all around it,” he continued. “Our greatest ally in the Middle East, one that there’s been a historic relationship between our two nations — a beacon of hope and freedom and liberty in a region of the world that is filled with challenges.”

Omar became one of America’s first Muslim congresswomen when sworn into office in 2018. She has been embroiled in allegations of anti-Semitism since even prior to taking office.

The Minnesotan has defended her past anti-Israel statements such as ones invoking Allah to expose Israel’s “evil doings.” Since taking office, she has promoted age-old anti-Semitic canards such as that Jews’ support of Israel is purchased and that they have a dual loyalty to Israel and the United States.

“We want to be neutral arbiters, let’s not deny our right and our duty to also be honest brokers,” Zeldin said. “To spend an entire time in justifying opposition to [anti-BDS legislation] based off of everything that’s wrong is all due to the Israeli occupation, why not point out the fact that in 2008 Israel offered to withdraw from 93% of Judea and Samaria in the West Bank?”

“Or what about our students on college campuses right now from coast to coast being targeted with blatant anti-Semitism in the name of BDS? Or taking into consideration the founder of BDS and all of his blatant anti-Semitism, or the Palestinian Authority’s pray to slay?” he continued. “They financially reward terrorism.”

Just days after House Democrats forced through a vote formally condemning President Trump's "racist" tweets targeting the progressive "squad" of freshman Democrats, the media is once again in an uproar over an unprovoked chant at a rally the president held in Greenville, North Carolina.

Trump was in the middle of criticizing Rep. Ilhan Omar for her history of anti-semitic remarks and other offensive comments about the 9/11 hijackers and the US forces who participated in the infamous 1993 "Black Hawk Down" mission in Somalia when the crowd burst into a chant of "send her back" - a reference to Trump's Sunday tweet saying the members of the "squad" should "go back" from the "crime infested places from which they came" if they're unhappy with how the country is being run. He also criticized Omar for comparing America to Al Qaeda and advocating on behalf of recruits attempting to join ISIS.

"Representative Omar blamed the United States for the terrorist attacks on our country, saying terrorism is a reaction to our involvement in other peoples' affairs," Trump said. "She smeared U.S. servicemembers involved in 'Black Hawk Down' -- in other words, she slandered the brave Americans who were trying to keep peace in Somalia."

In a tweet that resurfaced a few months back, Omar accused American soldiers of killing "thousands" of Somalis during the "Black Hawk Down" mission.


"Omar minimized the Sept. 11 attacks on our homeland, saying 'some people did something," Trump added. "I don't think so. 'Some people did something?' Yeah, some people did something, alright. She pleaded for compassion for ISIS recruits attempting to join the terrorist organization. She was looking for compassion. Omar laughed that Americans speak of Al Qaeda in a menacing tone, and remarked that, 'You don't say 'America' with this intensity. You say 'Al Qaeda,' makes you proud. Al Qaeda! Makes you proud. You don't speak that way about America.'"

"And obviously and importantly, Omar has a history of launching vicious anti-Semitic screeds."

Shouts of "traitor" could also be heard from the audience.

Trump never acknowledged the chant, or any other commentary from the audience about Omar.



Omar responded to reports about the rally by tweeting out a verse from a poem by black American poet Maya Angelou.

Others offered more harshly worded responses, with Shaun King calling the incident One of the single most racist moments in modern American political history."

Wednesday evening after some in the crowd at a campaign rally for Donald Trump in Greenville, North Carolina, chanted “Send her back!” after the president criticized Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

The chant was short-lived, and began as President Trump began criticizing Omar for her history of antisemitic comments. Trump did not appear to anticipate the chant, or to encourage it, and did not react to it in real time.

If you have been tempted to dismiss the growing progressive insurgency within the Democratic caucus as a mirage produced by a handful of outspoken voices - as Nancy Pelosi has suggested - well, think again.

In what appears to be one of the most deliberate examples yet of the Democrats progressive caucus sabotaging the party's own agenda because it didn't get exactly what it wanted, the Hill reports that some House Dems are prepared to scuttle a bill to raise the national minimum wage to $15 an hour if a procedural motion from the Republicans is added to the bill.

It's meant to be a gesture to moderate Democrats who have sometimes voted with Republicans on procedural issues: The progressives are in no mood to compromise.

Progressive Caucus, issued a statement accusing the Republicans of supporting a "disingenuous" motion that would amount to a "poison pill".

"We have no doubt that Congressional Republicans will try to divide the Democratic Caucus with a disingenuous Motion to Recommit. It’s up to all of us to stand unified and reject their bad faith effort to undermine this bill," Pocan and Jayapal said in a statement.

"After consulting with our Members this week, we are confident that any bill that includes a poison pill Republican Motion to Recommit will lack the votes to pass on the House Floor."

According to the Huffington Post, a vote on the minimum wage is slated for Thursday. However, even if progressives don't kill it, the bill will face an almost certain death in the Senate. The federal minimum wage is currently $7.25 an hour, and it hasn't been raised since 2009. It's the effective minimum wage in 19 states.

Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London who fought hard for figures including the Nation of Islam’s antisemitic, anti-white racist Louis Farrakhan to be allowed to enter Britain in his previous career as a human rights lawyer, also signed, adding that “Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley, represent hope for the future” in a separate Facebook post.

The Powerline blog claimed in an investigative report published Thursday that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) not only married her brother, but also received asylum as a child after her family used a false name.

The extensive blog post was written by David Steinberg, who did much of the initial reporting on Omar that was re-traced by the Minneapolis Star Tribune after a state ethics investigation revealed last month that she had filed joint tax returns for two years with one man while married to another.

Steinberg claims that Omar is actually one of five siblings in the Elmi family from Somalia. Three of the siblings were granted asylum in the United Kingdom, while two were granted asylum in the United States, including the father, Sternberg alleges.

He further alleges: “The Omar family is a second, unrelated family which was being granted asylum by the United States. The Omars allowed Ilhan, her genetic sister Sahra, and her genetic father Nur Said to use false names to apply for asylum as members of the Omar family.”

Steinberg also alleges that Rep. Omar married her alleged brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, in 2009: he had already reportedly been granted asylum in the UK. Following the marriage, he allegedly went on to study at North Dakota State University.



Elmi allegedly lived with her and with Ahmed Hirsi, the father of her children and the man to whom she says she had been married in an Islamic ceremony in 2002, while he studied. He allegedly left the U.S. shortly thereafter.

Omar reportedly divorced Elmi in 2017 and legally married Hirsi a short time later. However, she filed joint tax returns with Hirsi for 2014 and 2015 while still legally married to Elmi.

Omar paid a lawyer to help her deal with the situation, the state ethics investigation confirmed. The campaign finance violation occurred when she used campaign funds to pay the lawyer for what was a non-campaign-related purpose.



Steinberg notes that Omar was 12 years old at the time her family entered the U.S., and so “had no say” in the matter. However, he adds, she is now under scrutiny for later actions as an adult, including her marriages, tax filings, and campaign expenditures.

The Daily Mail, reporting Wednesday on the allegations about Omar’s marriage, noted that the official who performed Omar’s legal marriage to Elmi was a Christian minister.

In the past, Omar has called allegations that she married her brother “disgusting lies.” She also claimed that accusations of campaign finance violations against her, some of which were later vindicated, were motivated by anti-Muslim prejudice.

Breitbart News reached out to Rep. Omar’s office for comment Thursday and received no response.

The mainstream media can’t stop talking about how President Trump is a racist for tweeting that four Democrat members of Congress can “go back to where they came from.” But when Democrats threatened to deport naturalized U.S. citizen Sebastian Gorka over phony allegations, the media yawned.

Reps. Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib — also known as “The Squad” — were spewing anti-Semitic rhetoric, calling Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi racist, and insinuating that if you aren’t an activist for any non-white race or ethnicity, the Democrats don’t need you.


“We will never be a Socialist or Communist Country. IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY HERE, YOU CAN LEAVE,” Trump tweeted.




The media has gone absolutely wild over these tweets. CNN even hosted white nationalist Richard Spencer to weigh in on them in an attempt to associate Trump with his odious views.

Yet when Democrats spearheaded deportation efforts against former Trump adviser Sebastian Gorka, the media was silent. In 2017, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) asked the White House to hand over Gorka’s immigration paperwork to the House Judiciary Committee. Gorka is a British-born Hungarian-American who was naturalized in 2012, five years before Nadler attempted to use state power to intimidate him.

Nadler cited a hit piece written by The Forward attempted to link Gorka to far-right anti-Semitic groups in Hungary. The headline of the article read: “EXCLUSIVE: Nazi-Allied Group Claims Top Trump Aide Sebastian Gorka As Sworn Member.”

However, as David Harsanyi at The Federalist points out, the author of this hit piece admitted that there is no solid evidence for its headline or even the smears against him as an anti-Semite. The author concludes:

There is no evidence that Gorka himself has ever engaged in overtly anti-Semitic acts or participated in any of the Guard’s activities. But Gorka and some of his political supporters have argued that he has fought anti-Semitism throughout his career. The newly available video footage signals that Gorka not only failed to fight anti-Semitism, but also supported an openly intolerant paramilitary group and publicly rejected the Jewish community’s concerns about their own safety and the safety of other minorities due to the group’s founding.
The Nazi-allied group in question is called the Vitézi Rend. The Forward article claimed that Gorka wore a Vitézi Rend medal during Trump’s inauguration ball. However, after real journalists stepped in and asked Gorka what the medal stood for, we soon found out Gorka wears a ‘V’ pin to honor his father.

“Since childhood, I have occasionally worn my father’s medal and used the ‘V’ initial to honor his struggle against totalitarianism,” Gorka told The Tablet.

Despite the poor journalistic integrity of The Forward author, Nadler and other House Democrats still used her article to attack Gorka and the White House. Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), and Benjamin Cardin (D-MD) pressed the departments of Homeland Security and Justice to confirm whether Gorka was under investigation for falsifying his U.S. naturalization application.

So, let me get this straight: Democrats want to use government power to threaten new U.S. citizens if they have right-leaning political ideologies, but we should let every foreign citizen who illegally enters the United States in and give them voting rights, no questions asked? This is political hypocrisy at its finest.

Omar’s anti-Semitic tweets are legitimate proof of her horrific ideology. All Democrats had on Gorka was a poorly written article. Yet Democrats will not condemn Omar for her anti-Semitic rhetoric, while his association with the Trump administration is enough to trigger calls for deporting a U.S. citizen. The American people see through Democrats’ obvious and ridiculous double-standard on race-related rhetoric.

The Trump campaign blasted socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Thursday over her hypocrisy for calling out President Donald Trump over a chant that broke out at his rally in North Carolina after she had refused to denounce a recent terrorist attack against an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility where the attacker left behind a manifesto that seemed to echo her deeply misleading rhetoric that immigrant detention facilities are akin to "concentration camps."

The "send her back" chant, which Trump did not participate in and denounced on Thursday, broke out after Trump read off a list of Rep. Ilhan Omar's (D-MN) most controversial actions and statements.

Ocasio-Cortez responded by saying: "The president put millions of Americans in danger last night. His rhetoric is endangering lots of people. This is not just about threats to individual members of Congress, but it is about creating a volatile environment in this country through violent rhetoric that puts anyone, like Ilhan, anyone who believes in the rights of all people in danger and I think that he has a responsibility for that environment."

The Trump campaign responded in a tweet, writing: "Rep. @aoc spent weeks comparing Americans in ICE uniforms to Nazi concentration camp guards, and then Antifa carried out a terrorist attack against ICE. She refuses to condemn the attack."

Ocasio-Cortez was pressed on Monday about whether she thinks her rhetoric could potentially have contributed to the terrorist attack on the ICE facility — where the attacker was heavily armed and threw bombs at the building — and she refused to respond.

Ocasio-Cortez interjected the term "concentration camps" into the political discussion on immigration last month during an Instagram live video, falsely claiming: "The United States is running concentration camps on our southern border and that is exactly what they are. They are concentration camps. And, um, if that doesn't bother you, I don't, I don't know, I like, we can have, okay whatever."

Ocasio-Cortez made it clear that she was referencing Nazi concentration camps when she invoked the term "Never Again," which is an explicit reference to the Holocaust, saying: "I want to talk to the people that are concerned enough with humanity to say that we should not that 'Never Again' means something and that the fact that concentration camps are now an institutionalized practice in the home of the free is extraordinarily disturbing and we need to do something about it."

The Administration has currently identified to the Committee a total of 2,648 children who were potentially separated at the southern border.7 To date, HHS has provided data to the Committee for 1,619 of these 2,648 children.

• According to a staff analysis of this HHS data, out of the 1,619 children, 1,603—or 99 percent—of the children have been discharged from HHS custody.

Of the 1,603 discharged children, 1,546 children—or 95 percent—were either reunified with an individual sponsor or released to a parent.8 Specifically, 1,061 children were released to a parent and 485 children were reunified with an individual sponsor.

Of the remaining 73 children who had not been reunited with an individual sponsor or released to a parent, HHS provided the following data:

▪ 16 children remain in the care of HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement
(ORR), of which four children were determined to not have been separated
from their parent;9

▪ 21 children sought a voluntary departure, meaning that the child went back to
his or her home country;

▪ 20 children aged out, meaning that these children turned 18 and by law ORR
cannot keep them in their custody

8 children were sent to another migrant program;

▪ 6 children went to a DHS family shelter;
▪ 1 child was granted immigration relief; and
▪ 1 child was a runway from an ORR facility.

A recent federal court filing also shows that ORR has discharged 99 percent of children from its care since June 26, 2018.10. According to HHS, children typically remain in ORR care for 60 days, although the average length of care has expanded to 78 days in fiscal year 2019. The HHS data show that ORR released 53 percent of the separated children in 60 days or less.

“Although Democrats allege that 30 children remain separated from their families, these children remain separated largely because either the parents pose a danger to their child or the parents have expressed an intent not to reunify with their child,” The Republicans on the House Oversight Committee said in their report.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, tasked with deporting illegal aliens, is nearly twice as favorable among Americans as a group of four progressive Democrat congresswomen known as the “Squad.”

The latest Economist/YouGov survey finds that favorability for ICE among American adults far surpasses the popularity of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), who blasted President Trump this week.

Overall, about 42 percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of the ICE agency — which Ocasio-Cortez has advocated for abolishing altogether. Meanwhile, Omar holds a favorability of only 25 percent, Ocasio-Cortez a favorability of only 33 percent, Tlaib a favorability of only 24 percent, and Pressley a favorability of only 22 percent.

Likewise, a plurality of 43 percent of Americans said they oppose Ocasio-Cortez’s plan to abolish ICE. A minority, 33 percent, of Americans said they support abolishing ICE, while 25 percent said they were unsure.

ICE also has a higher approval rating than some 2020 Democrats. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), for example, has a favorability of just 36 percent and Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) polls at just a 33 percent favorable rating.



On the other hand, Trump holds a favorability rating of about 43 percent.

This week, Trump slammed elected Democrats on Twitter for “viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run” despite arriving “from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world.”

In response, Omar, Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib, and Pressley held a press conference in which they called for Trump’s impeachment.

Although Republican lawmakers — including Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), and Rep. Justin Amash (I-MI) – the establishment media, and Democrats have slammed Trump for making the comments, the overwhelming majority of Republican voters, nearly nine-in-ten, said they like Trump’s message.

Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar has allegedly been uncooperative with her hometown paper’s efforts to get to the bottom of accusations that she committed marriage fraud, the paper’s political editor said.

Omar’s brief congressional career has been dogged by accusations — which she has denied — that she married a male relative, possibly her brother. Omar and her current husband, Ahmed Hirsi, filed joint tax returns while Omar was married to another man, Ahmed Elmi, Minnesota campaign finance officials said.

Omar and her family have made it difficult for journalists to find out the truth about her marriage, Minnesota Star-Tribune editor Kevin Diaz told PolitiFact in an interview Thursday.

“Our public records searches determined that in at least one period after she married Elmi, all three (Omar, Elmi and Hirsi) used the same address in Minnesota. It raises questions about the nature of the relationship if she is living with both the person she’s married to and her eventual husband,” Diaz said. “What’s really made it hard is that she’s been unwilling to address any of these questions. That has fueled the controversy. We quoted her at length to say that these were mere accusations, that they were unfair, and that she shouldn’t have to address them. Be that as may, there was an undisputed instance of her filing her taxes improperly. And if you’re in Congress, you should explain that to your constituents,” he continued.

We’ve asked her these questions, and also asked her to make her father available. We’ve tried to reach Elmi. We’ve tried to reach her sisters. Her family could put this (the question of Elmi’s relationship to Omar) to rest easily. No one will talk to us. I wish we could send a reporter to Mogadishu (Somalia) but we don’t have the bandwidth,” the editor added.

Omar’s office didn’t immediately return the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment on Diaz’s remarks.
